Perfect for us local people needing the American dream make it affordable now. Build sell and buyers must live there for 10 years before selling.

Nicely done video. I was wondering why don’t any of you realtors focus on getting local buyers into these places before out of state buyers? I know it’s about making money quick flips but maybe if more realtors focused on helping locals find and buy first and out of state buyers second the people here would feel more valued. Just a thought

It is the greatest feeling in the world when my friends, family and fellow locals are able to buy their own property. Living in a destination area is heartwrenching for those of us who are born and raised here- we can no longer afford to buy a house where we grew up. We cannot find work that pays us enough to even live. We don't have the same educational funding and opportunities as other areas, and unless we are trying our hardest to achive, we can barley afford to live. The jobs we are forced to take cater to those on the outside with money: we work construction, building malls we will never be able to shop in, luxury homes we won't be able to live in and office buildings we don't have the credentials to work in. We work at airports, bringing mainlanders in from places we've never visited so they can see land they may never appreciate. We work in hotels that profit wealthy familys from countries we can't even pronounce. We have moved away from self sustainability and further into the reliance of others interests and attraction. We live in one of the most desirable places on earth, and no matter what we do, we can't stop people from coming. The land was taken, and the floodgates were opened. I became a Realtor because I wanted to buy a house, to own my own piece of this island before it was too late. I used to think that if I thought outside the box, if we introduced new laws or taxes or educational funds we could save this land for ourselves, preserve what we are so fond of for our loved ones and our children. But I see now, we cannot stop it. The gears are turning with full strength , the infatuation with this island is here to stay- forever. The game board has been tilted against us, the deck stacked , the system rigged . No one is coming to help us. No one is swooping in and balancing anything. Our children grow dumber, lazier and more out of touch with each generation. I am tired of going against the grain. I am tired of looking for ways to right the board or fix the deck or sidestep the system. I've been ready to sell this land, this island back it its people since the day I took this job. I'm waiting. It's time to get to work, put the BS away and start doing whats best not for us, but the next few generations: buy this island back. Grit your damned teeth and do whatever it takes to make it work. Force it through. I will do whatever I can to help familys buy homes here in Hawaii. I'll do whatever it takes to help. Just ask. Help me help you. Come to me. I'm here. We need to get together and fight harder.
It's not fair. I know. But the only way we can win this, in my mind, is if we beat them at their own game.

Thank you. That is a very cool spot in Hilo, known currently as Coconut Island; but its real name is Moku Ola. On a clear day, its one of the most beautiful places on earth and my our children love to jump off there.

Not anymore- I believe the seller took it off the market. But there is another that popped up, I think its the lot right next to it.
