    For the past 10 years, I have only worn Vibram five-finger shoes everyday (except for the rare rainy day in Phoenix, AZ when I wear my uncomfortable, 15 yo pair of Pumas). I use them for work, hiking, running, and casually about town. Lately, their styles and prices have moved beyond my comfort range. This video gives me hope for an affordable, more traditional looking barefoot experience. Thank you!

    Thank you for your research and reviews. I’m loving my 18 month transition to barefoot shoes. I work in a corporate environment so it’s challenging to find suitable non sneaker-esque shoes for work. But happy to see movement with barefoot shoe companies!

    I absolutely love all my five fingers!! I have been wearing them for years. I use them for casual, hiking kayaking just about anything that doesn't require a boot. I honestly do find them a bit pricey, but at the same time I think I've gained balance agility and the more comfortable gate when I walk. I noticed when I have to go back to boots for a long time my hips hurt. That doesn't happen in my five fingers ever.

    I have tried several minimal shoes and the most comfortable and versatile were also the cheapest: Saguaro. I think they're especially great if you like a secure but not restrictive fit. My Xero Mesa Trail 2 are the total opposite. Their fit is far too imprecise (too much space) for me

    Just got another pair and am wearing them almost everywhere. Was wearing flip-flops, but your feet get dirty...
    Going to get a few more five-fingers for different occasions - they're amazingly comfortable and now that i've really discovered barefoot shoes, I'll stick with them until my feet finish spreading back out. :)

Now i had the samen, i though again adjusting, i gonna try a barefoot shoe. Already used the silicon toe thingies. I use them now 1,5 week and yestrday and today i started walking outside with them after used to them. I do already feel i dont need any adjustment to the soles, but i did not wear my Xensible shoes as long as i have the barefootshoes. I already love them my feet feel better. Been thinking about switching to barefoot shoes but I work all day on concrete in a cold environment where the floors are often wet and slick additionally, just at my job alone I am walking 7 to 10 mi a day not including all the lifting I'm doing of things 30 to 60 lb from Floor to chest height and sometimes overhead at least 15 reps every 20 minutes I have to switch between multiple shoes just to minimize foot pain. I'd like to switch but I have tight calves and foot pain already and I'm worried switching to those even for one day would make it worse but I don't know. What if you are old and your wrong shapes and movements are well established and your ankles stiff. For example, I am 75, one ankle doesn't want to flex at all, one leg turns out at the hip and one foot has a slight bunion. Can I still fix things?

    • @stoneblackycube
      @stoneblackycube 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      you can't fix it, but you can make it more comfortable for yourself, but if you're unsure, keep walking in what you usually do, otherwise you have to proceed very carefully, think of it as learning to walk again, take it easy try wearing barefoot shoes when you walk from your living room to the kitchen try for a month and see if you have no problems there try from the living room to the kitchen to the garden add an extra room in a month remember take care of yourself it may hurt a bit to start with but remember, take it easy, try foot massage once a day, hope it works for you and good luck :)

    I wear my Vibram Five Finger Insulated
    V-Trek shoes every day for any and all activities. The laces allow the adjusting for any swelling of my feet throughout the day.
    My Xero Prio shoes..not so great: They are far too snug around the ankle and the toe box needs to be wider/bigger if I’m going to buy from that company ever again.

    • @andyanderson5332
      @andyanderson5332 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      PS. No. In case anyone’s thinking it: My Xero Prio problem is not a sizing issue. More like a flaw in the design of the shoe in my opinion. They’re ok when I’m walking but as soon as I stop or sit down I feel my circulation getting cut off around the ankle and feel pressure on my little toe.

      I play ball in Altra Lone Peaks. Wide toe box (which is way better for not rolling an ankle), & zero drop but with cushion. I've also played in water shoes and these shoes on amazon called Whitins like the ones his lady wears in the vid but I think their true barefoot trail ones are better for basketball. The knees over toes guy does plyo work in xero prios which are in the video.

    Undisputed barefoot shoes? lol not even close.
    My go-to brand is Hobibear. I ordered a dozen of pairs before prices go up :) I wear the leather ones to work, and the rest on my day to day life, as they’re more breathable. Zero drop, flexible thin soles, really wide toe box (that’s allowed me to drop a whole shoe size), and they are actually affordable.

    I have a question instead of a comment. I hope to get an answer from you. I like the idea of barefoot shoes but I've got sensitive thin soles and never walked barefoot as a child. Also the running shoes I've been wearing for the past few years (not for running - I'm 80 years old!) stop me from pronating when I walk. I worry about going back to square one if I wear barefoot shoes. And yes, I do have bunions but they haven't gone very far yet.

    • @rashb3994
      @rashb3994 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Start with Altras or the Whitins that look like Keds. Altras have a wide toe box and zero drop heel like barefoot shoes but they have cushioning, great transition. Or just use the shoes you have and get a cheap pair of water or barefoot shoes and you slowly build up your feet by wearing them walking 5 min, then 10 etc. You could do the same in grass or dirt with just your bare feet. They will get stronger, you will be able to go longer and it can heal leg and even some back ailments. It took me a few months to adapt and the 6 months for all my leg and feet problems to go away. Any questions let me know. I'm passionate about it.

    I have bunion, flat feet along with Knee & lower back pain.
    I have tried to walk barefoot, flat shoes, wide toe box running shoes, i could not walk far or long (< 5min) or if i tried to walk (has wore it out) i will walk like an old granny, could not walk even just 2 steps 😂 2min walk takes me at 15min to finish... Only, after put on my custom made insoles, will i able to walk "freely" or normally...
    In my situation, what barefoot shoes will you recommend me to try on or strategies...
    I have the agony for > 15yrs! I have stopped my weekly running of 11km (15yrs ago), hiking (3yrs ago), walking 5000steps is what i can maintain for the time being! Looking forward to live pain free! Thank you 😅

      I feel sorry for you living in pain for such a long period. It is clear barefoot shoes are not a solution for your problems. Bless you and wish you the best.

    Most cheaper brands don't do bigger sizes I've noticed . I can only wear xeros or vivos for this reason, amazon budget brands etc are out

    Hello, as someone from Arizona (where Saguaro cacti grow natively), I gotta let you know how to pronounce Saguaro. It uses a Spanish pronunciation, Sah-wore-oh. The G is silent.

    I have an issue about buying barefoot shoes. Because i play basketball as a pro and i dont know if using barefoot shoes daily, will then make my feet uncomfortable while using basketball shoes.

    My question is, for those who have barefoot shoes, will your feet hurt if you step on a small pebble or lego?

      That must be a reseller taking a chance. We always use their main site.

      Importing shoes into Canada is brutal. There are some legit sellers though. Sole Freedom has the Prio for $140 CAD with free shipping, they're sold out of a lot of sizes at the moment though. I've bought from them before, they're the real deal, fast shipping too! There's also Cool East Market and Distance Runwear for alternative options. :)

    The cost of this fad is simply insane!! They do not last very long and cost double “real” shoes!

      I agree! A better alternative is to get good quality water shoes. I got a pair of Jambu JBU water shoes that I wear when working out at the gym. I wasn't looking for those shoes specifically when I bought them, I just happened to come across them on sale at Foot Locker. These water shoes feel great when running on a treadmill or when using the weight machines. And best of all, they only cost $25. So when they wear out, it won't cost me much to replace them. All those expensive barefoot shoes featured in this video have soles that look no different than water shoes.

      We did a big review on winter barefoot shoes. The models suitable for snow are at the end: th-cam.com/video/OixZPAdvDvk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=wnYD0bYAjp1hKd5Q
