Very well made video. Most Vids concerning this cars arre really wobbly and have bad sound. So, kudos on that... I have one question about the car though: Is it true that the automatic gearbox eats up performance? That's what I have been told while looking to buy one of these. PS: Never thought a VW could sound that good :)

Instead I bought an 02 Audi A6 4.2 V8 and threw magnaflow exhaust on it. Sounds pretty damn good but doesn't purr like this! Lol

Is there a Rev restrictor on it? I saw some other videos of a W8 and only revved to about 3-5k rpm. Btw awesome and beautiful car hope to have one someday
The 2.8V6 has issues as well, and it's ball-less. I have a 98 1.8T and I don't think maint is that bad, especially if you are capable of working on it your self. All cars require maint and if you take it to a shop it's always going to be up there.
Hi, have just replaced the exhaust on my w8 and im thinking of taking the resonators off. How do you find it at cruising speeds? Does the sound get annoying? Did you do a pod filters as well and did that change the sound? Cheers Matt
yeah I had a 4.6 mustang and all though it was a fun car I would much rather be seen in the passat. If that model mustang was EVER fast it was because there was so much plastic on it. Although I do miss the ridiculous overdrive since I was getting 30mpg on highway.

@DJohnny18 DONT buy a w8 unless you want to spend all your money for repairs. the regular passat is an expensive car to maintain in itself, the w8 is a financial nightmare, not to mention that it has a lot of parts specifically for its trim. i have a 2002 1.8t.
His car may be faster now, give me that W*, it will eat Mustangs as did my 2000 Regal GSE once slightly modded and tuned, still with stock pulley on S/C even.
