Kripp faced the combos of Evolved Kobold with Consecration and Fan of Knives respectively in arena and still won anyway. Then he OTK a Face Hunter with Evolved Kobold + 2 Fireballs + 2 Ice Lances. Also OTK a Rogue with Evolved Kobold+Frost Bolt + 2 Ice Lances. In the end Kripp's Freeze Mage has 12-3 win rate. You're welcome.
I've been using evolved Kobold in my shaman evolve deck since Karahzan came out. It has amazing synergy with Maelstrom portal, and spirit claws. And once you're done using it, you can evolve it into a 5 cost minion instead of just watching it die the next turn. It's been working really good for me.

I was experimenting with a freeze mage near the start of wotg and often the one card that allowed me to win the game through big damage combos was evolved kobolds. I'm not suprised more competent players have started to use it to it's fullest, but I am suprised it's taken this long.

I've always had a sweet spot for spell damage when I do play Hearthstone, I usually put evolved in because it let's me compete with top control decks because I simply have more removal (usually spell shaman and rogue)
I'd love a compilation video of the best Kripp yawns- it's simply so soothing. He yawns like a fat, content dog. I make sure to play my Kripp Yawning playlist every night before work to ensure proper sleep.
This is a perfect example of why I believe giving a fair review of a card is impossible as soon as it comes out, where you called this card terrible months ago, is now seen in Freeze Mage constructed.

Don't know if this is sarcasm or not, but if its not then the main reason for the dual loot hoarders is just to draw cards same as with Thalnos, just so you can get your combo faster.

I mean, it's not an auto-include in most decks by any means, and it's not an all-around good card like many others - but one of the original OTK freeze mage variants included 2x Kobold Geomancers (or Thalnos instead of one) for +2 spell damage. Evolved Kobold achieves the same effect for the same amount of mana but 1 less card, making it better in a lot of situations that the 2 Geomancers (with the one obvious downside being it gets 1 less mana reduction per Emperor tick, because it's only the 1 card).
Yes, but mainly because "everything is terrible" is the default stance of the community on every new card ever. I'm not sure if streamers are even legally allowed to be optimistic or reasonable in their predictions.
The way the priest lost Cairne was sooooo disappointing.... He overdrew because the bishop revived shade (that's reasonable) but the turn after he plays another Shade, a clearly obvious mistake considering he played Blademaster the turn after that.

It took NA/Europe 5 months to start using it. Asia was putting this into freeze Mage from literally day 1 of Whispers.

I think Evolved Kobold is actually very good and a little underrated. I've tried to build decks around it in lieu of having a Malygos.
