Thanks Jamie. We do make some upgrades to these systems, but they're mostly internal. Brass drive nut instead of nylon etc. As for the instructions, our team here re-write everything to make it easier for our DIYers!
Great video, In the process of installation i have accidentally over extended the screw arm. Is there a recommended method to re-engage the 2 sections?
Hi David, You can screw the arm back onto it's worm drive. If you lock the mechanism in the main housing, you can then turn the extendable section clockwise to get it back onto the worm drive. IStanding the arm on it's end can sometimes make this easier. Once it engages it will start to retract slowly as you turn it. You can then unlock the arm and push it back in, or plug it back in and operate it as normal.
Can the operating angle be adjusted to be less than 90 degrees by adjusting the limit switch. I have a situation where the gate in the open position is 90 degrees (that’s fine ) but in the closed position only needs to open an additional 60 degrees , making the operational angle only 60 degrees (or 30 degrees from a normal fully closed position) and not 90 I await your comments
Hi Saba, On a standard pull-to-open gate, the closing limit switch has full range of movement along the arm. So, if you set your gate up in the open position, you can reduce your closing angle to where it is needed.
Hi iZen, You can connect multiple keypads and accessories. If your accessories draw more than 500 milliamps (combined) you may need a secondary power source. If you have any doubts, or would like help with connection, contact our gate support team and they can assist. gatesupport.richmondau.com
Hi Ashley, Hopefully you were able to speak to one of our technicians in Melbourne. You can fit a lamp to the GTR058 swing motor, however it is designed to only operate while the gate is actually moving. If necessary, submit a request at gatesupport.richmondau.com and one of our technicians will be able to contact you to discuss it further.
Hi Pratik, The arm only moves if the electric motor is operating. Once the electric motor stops, the arm stops and is locked, regardless of what position it is in. After that, the gate will only move if something is broken or not fitted correctly.
How far do you move the limiting screw toward the motor to set the limit? When the gate is in closed position, the screw will move to any position along its run. How do you know where to set it?
Hi Kirk, In the closed position, you can run a small washer along the outside of the arm. The washer should stick where the internal magnet is and give you a rough idea of the screw location. You can then adjust the limit switch to suit, unlock the gate and open it manually. Once open, lock the arm again and operate using your remote. If you still need further adjustment, do this in the open position and make small adjustments each time. Remember not to overtighten the limit switch screw, they only need to be finger tight!
Hi Richmond, Can I pair multiple remotes, or do I need to install a remote receiver? I'm having trouble getting my other remotes to pair, even when cloned.
Hi Tyler, You can use up to 10 Richmond remotes, paired directly to the motor. Any more than this, or if you are wanting to use our remotes on another manufacturers gate or garage motor, you will need to fit our GTR197 external receiver. www.richmondau.com/product/external-remote-receiver-gtr197/ If you are wanting to use another manufacturers remote, you will need to fit an external receiver from that same company. For security reasons, Richmond remotes are not designed to be cloned and need to be paired directly to the motor or external receiver. Also, with advancement in smartphone technology, universal and cloned remotes are becoming less and less common as they can be too easily copied.
@@RichmondCastors Thanks Richmond! I purchased the external receiver and it works great. I have one more question - How can I adjust the minimum inward pull position? I can adjust the farthest position limiter... but I'd like it if my gate didn't swing so far open - it actually goes beyond 90 degrees and bangs into a parallel fence.
Hi Tyler, There is an adjustment available. Ideally you would attach the fully retracted arm to the gate when it is in the open position that you want. However, for a common pull-to-open gate, the limit switch closest to the main motor housing can be adjusted so that the arm doesn't fully retract. You will need to remove the smaller locating screw before it will move and you can ONLY move the limit switch AWAY from the main motor housing. If you need any further information, submit a ticket to our gate support team and include any photo's or video that you have of your gate. They will be able to give you a more detailed and personalised response. www.gatesupport.richmondau.com

This is the same as Topens in the U.K and USA but with much better and clearer instructions! Thank you for putting this out there.

Honestly those are the best directions I've ever seen great job
Hi John,
Thanks for the feedback, always nice to hear that we've made someone's gate installation a little easier!
Great review. Congrats from Romania for your hard work.
Thanks Robi. We're glad you enjoyed it!
Absolutely great instruction & installation video!! Thanks for sharing this 🙏🏼

What about the lock system? Is lock work automatically?
