SNES Prince of Persia Video Walkthrough

  • This is a video walkthrough / playthrough / runthrough / etc of the SNES game Prince of Persia.
    Waaaay back in the day, I had the old DOS version of this game. I played that game quite often, and I guess it sorta helped when it came time to do this video.
    I do need to apologize for one small thing....It seems I didn't even notice I was hitting the "time/attack" button when fighting until a good chunk into making the video, and since I didn't really want to restart, I just kept going. So because of this, you're going to see how much time is left quite often while I kill everyone, at least until a certain point....Sorry...
    I do miss a few of those big red potions, but that's because I knew I would end up with max health at the end of the game, so I could afford to miss a few...
    Since I had plenty of time, I had the hero do some star gazing near the end...He figured he could spare a few minutes to look up into space..... :P

    This was probably the best version of Prince of Persia. Slightly altered and extended levels, more types of enemies, graphics that outdo the original, and better cutscenes. It also differs enough from the original that it makes it worth playing even after playing the original.

    I still have this very version of this game on a still working Super Nintendo, along with Flashback and Out of this world. I played them all and finished them all. Prince of Persia remains the best game of that Era. It's still one of my faves, although I've not played it in years. Gonna have to break out the ol SNES and give it a go again. Good memories watching this.

      At one point of the game you jump through a magic mirror where a spirit or shadow version of yourself duplicate and runs out of the opposite end of the mirror. he appears later in the game as sort of a puzzle "enemy" where if you try to fight him he is unbeatable. The only way to get past him is to run into him somewhat representing reuniting yourself with your spirit form. awfully meta stuff for such a early game.

    • @SorenDaein
      @SorenDaein 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's also the matter of him suddenly being able to clear an otherwise impossible gap just by running across platforms that by all account shouldn't have been there.

    Did Nintendo have a rule that all games needed to have background music? It adds nothing and distracts from the immersion you get in the various computer versions. They did the same thing to Out Of This World/Another World.

    • @14catorce
      @14catorce 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      jakeharvey Nintendo didn't have anything to do with that, it was either the port developer studio (Arsys) or the distribution company (Konami) who made that decision.
