Teleportation is probably what i'd go with. Here's why: They mentioned Jumper, and that's the main reason why, the teleportation in Jumper isn't teleportation, it's portal creation. So that immediately eliminates the problems with arriving naked.
teleportation is debatable for me, if your being broken down and put back together somewhere else, its not the original you you, but another one of you being there etc, but if it were like...you travelling somewhere at the speed of teleportation, (well flash thing, youd be dead) but didnt have the momentum of the speed, yea id prolly take it.
Same for me. Time travel is just a more intense version of teleportation, which is cool. Though, it depends on the specifics of it all. Like, could you teleport specific parts of you(without repercussions). Like, could you teleport your consciousness into someone else's body, thus both reading their mind and possessing them? Either way, it's still really cool and the obvious choice.
"Assuming your clothes don't teleport, you'd have to be naked constantly" He specifically said "Jumper". A movie where they open rifts in space and jump through them to teleport, clothes intact. Why would you then assume that their clothes wouldn't teleport?
@@CesarDaSalad That's still teleportation. And again, the rebuttal was to him specifically mentioning the movie Jumper. So it clearly DOES apply to the discussion since y'know, it WAS the discussion.
@@HappyBeezerStudios Not much of a drawback. Anakin only needed postcard pictures to jump to a location. Go on Google, look up a picture of a location and you can be there in seconds.
What about the power of knowing how likely something could happen. For example, "I wonder if that girl will reject me if I ask her out." a percentage would appear before your eyes and give you the likelihood of you succeeding. Similar to Fallout.
Like in video games or movies where the android has a percentage based system on what he should focus on?(Detroit become human) I think that would simply allow you to avoid awkward moments or give some insight into what would be best for you in life. Granted it depends on how accurate the numbers are and how much you want to roll the dice.(Xcom percentage odds, lol)
@@marlow7376 If you went back to the beginning or forward to the end of the universe you'd die immediately from the massive power of the big bang or the inexorable cold left by entropy. Or suffocate.
@@Tkieron Well if you ignore some stuff physics would make you not age at all. by ignoring im talking like sonic booms every time you moved while the power was on
The downside to freezing time. If you're able to freeze time around you, you're continuing to age while everything around you stays still. So as you continue to use this power over your lifetime, you are effectively aging faster than everybody around you. The more often and longer you use this power, the older you get in relation to everybody and everything around you.
the key there would be to use it in moments that only absolutely required it. And only for a few minutes at most. That way you wouldn’t age as much over the course of a lifetime.
I would just time out for the rest of my life. I want to be alone and safe until I die. To everyone else it will look like I just disappeared out of thin air. Then at the same time, some unidentified old dead corpse will apear on a random beach on the other side of the world.
That's why you don't choose "the power to freeze time" that would be a stupid choice. You choose complete time manipulation/time control. If you're essentially a master of time you can de-age your body whenever you want, and even leave the data in your mind unaffected so that you're not turning back the clock on your memories. You'd also have infinite time to figure out shit like how to store your memories so that your mind doesn't overload. It's the best power, hands down. Also, side bar, aging is mostly caused by wear and tear on your body, and with time stopped you're no longer being affected by forces like gravity, so you would age much slower than most people do.
Nightcrawler rules. :) The super religious thing isn't my cup of tea though. I mean half demon or not there are other ways to control that side. Raven for example does it pretty cool.
@@HelloItsMikkan only the first class universe where he's kinda a pussy until Dark Phoenix when he leaves the alien to get hit by the train, and darts the other alien in the neck with his tail.
Rather than stop time, why not the Manipulation of all time? I mean you could go to the future, the past, change the age of yourself and others. If you wanted to go somewhere fast you could just speed up time. This ability would more or less make you god like.
Lot more risky, potential for time paradoxes, fucking up history, killing yourself somehow probably. The timeout is simple and effective and there's no way to fuck anything up.
Cain Soren I think it's easy to like it on the surface, but as they said in the video, all the implications including outliving your loved ones will take a toll on you. Has any immortal in anything ever been happy? But maybe you're an edgy teenager who thinks they don't have any loved ones (not actually assuming, just theoretical). And if that's the case, you'll grow out of that eventually and your friends and family will be the most important things in your life.
someguywhocanfly - I'm 26 dude. And yeah your loved ones will die but that's just the circle of life. In a normal person's life they either die before their loved ones or live long enough to be the last one left anyway. At least when you're immortal you can start new families, advance technology to new heights because you have hundreds of years to actually make strides in science compared to the average of 40, achieve so many things you usually wouldn't have time for, do anything because you literally have thousands of second chances and if you were made immortal in your physical prime you would be never have to worry about aging, hearing loss, balding etc. As long as there were no bullshit loopholes it would be the greatest possible gift you could ever receive.
Gravity. It means flight, altered telekinesis, can crush any under their own weight, can increase my own weight for a sick workout regiment, and I could create mini black holes and white holes.
You're assuming a lot about the power. Using gravity control like that is like saying "im like Cyclops but i can shoot lasers out of your eyes too if i feel like it" Much more reasonable is the ability to control your interaction with gravity, how much you weigh, how much your gravity pulls things around you, and if you're skilled produce some gravity waves. You could pull off some difficult telekinesis but since gravity is usually omnidirectional you'd have to be careful of objects other than your target flying around. You could pull off flight but you'd need something to help propel you through the air. If you did things just right though you might be able to achieve warp. Ftl travel makes you the highest paid taxi in the universe. One ticket to Mars please? That'll be 100 million dollars one way, thank you.
@@the1exnay well, if you could alter the Gravitational Constant G, theoretically, he could do everything he mentioned. For example, burglar in your way? Simply increase G for the gravitational force between burglar and the Earth and he is instantly pinned to the Earth's surface. Or wanting to float? Simply decrease G for the gravitational force between you and the Earth to essentially 0. You'd have to push yourself around to gain any velocity tangent to the Earth's surface OR simply hold a fire extinguisher to blow yourself around, adjusting G to bring you back to Earth if you please.
Mass manipulation is the more accurate term, and it would enable you to control over inertia, gravitational attraction, space (distance), time (how long it takes to get from point A to point B), etc. Plus, you could exploit gravity to indirectly control other forces, like how conventional electronics use electricity to control mechanical and nuclear forces.
Same problem as with superspeed. Your body wouldn't be designed to withstand the gravity changes and it would become chronically damaged over time (or all at once if you decide to use one of those black holes lol).
Power of persuasion. You'd be able to talk yourself out of any situation, talk someone into doing something you wanted, without putting any real effort into doing so. Just all with the power of your voice. Just speak your command, and the person you've directed to do your bidding is instantly compelled to. Of course, this all depends on how complex or simple a command is, if a person is able to understand said command, etc.
I feel, at a time, you would kind of stop thinking about which is which, not care if their acting on their own will or on your control, just as long as what you need/want done is done. Or if you think about it that much, craft what you say very carefully around certain people you talk to. Meticulously choose every single word you say around, say, someone you genuinely care for so that they would never have to do something against their will on your account.
Possible problem with stopping time: Does your _own_, _personal_ time continue while that's going on? That is, if you 'time out' one day and spend six months 'fixing' things, are _you_ six months older than the rest of the world? In which case, while you might have a 'nicer' life, it will be a lot shorter based on the amount of 'extra' time you spend in the 'time out' position. ... I mean, if we're going to assume that going invisible or teleportation _doesn't_ include your clothing, shouldn't we assume your personal time continues as well?
well if you could manipulate the world to your advantage you could get the best medicine around and have the best medical attention on the planet therefore making you live longer
collin hill The question then becomes does the time you lose in Time Out equal or exceed the time you _gain_ from such things? Remember, also, that much of 'the best medicine' requires time on your part (exercise). And much of the rest is a matter of diminishing returns. You have to put more and more effort (money, resources) into medical care to get less and less improvement.
Robin Dude But if you can get the people of the planet to worship you like the people of north Korea worship their leader the money and resources should be no problem. Plus if you pause time i don't think vehicles would work so you would have to walk everywhere therefore exercise is eliminated.
collin hill The video was talking about getting a power _now_, with your life unchanging. Do you know of any way to affect the world through pausing time to make them worship you? For that matter, can you conceive of a way to pause time and make yourself rich without also making yourself a criminal (which, if you were ever found out, could make you one of the most wanted people on the planet but in the wrong way). As for vehicles, that's a potentially good point, except that it also makes Time Out even _less_ useful since anything you need to fix a situation needs to be within fifteen minutes of your current location to be worthwhile. If what you need for a situation is a hundred miles away, the average walking speed is 3 mph, so it'd take 2 subjective days to get it... and that's for _one_ Time Out. And if it's more than 150 miles away you can't do it _at all_ as you'll die of thirst in the three days it'll take you to get that far. Unless, of course, you're stealing stuff the whole way or paying in cash, all of which just adds to the time you'll lose while in Time Out, further increasing the likelihood that any benefit gained by improved medicine will be trumped by the loss of time in Time Out. Likely a _better_ argument would be to say that you'll live a 'better' life even if it's shorter, going for quality over quantity. However, as I mentioned above, I'm not sure how much increased quality you can get without being a thief at the minimum.
@@coenlastname5574 that depends what kind of reality warping is clap your fingers, thinks happen like thanos or discord or you actually have to know what are you doing like molecule man or dr manhattan
Jumper teleportation works by moving through a small wormhole, so your clothing would indeed go with you. Jumper style teleportation is indeed the best power. That power alone can be used to do several things aside from a simple here-there teleportation. In the novels, it is used to open and sustain a wormhole between two places allowing water and air to flow from one location to another. It was also shown that your inertia is controllable when using those powers, which enabled a sort of flight-like ability.
But without her ability to reshape her body, you could only impersonate people your own height, weight and gender. So it would be a small pool of options.
Hmm, if the superpower is specifically to change your own body into a form you want, I'd assume most people would first change gender to experience some things from the other side, than take on perfect looks, then start a life of crime, because when you look like somebody else, noone will get you.
For shape shifting I meant I could change to any object and animal and saying that I could change specific parts to work like any other thing like put giant spider web slingers on my wrists and I could have spidermans ability to sling webs, so basically I would manipulate certain parts of my body to do certain things, I would basically have beast boy's power but better
I’m allowed to choose any single power? Reality manipulation. I can now do virtually anything outside the realm of thought; every reality based power rolled up into one.
I think Green Lantern's power ring would work for this. There's no underlying fine print like flight or super speed. The only things you have to bring to the table are imagination, will power, and a finger. All human beings have imagination and will power; granted, if you have shitty imagination and will power then you're going to have shitty constructs, but you'll still have them. The ring takes care of literally everything else for you
Opposite. The ring doesn't give YOU powers, you give the RING power. It manifests you're willpower. It's a 'draws' whatever you think. That's why it's different for every person, and as soon as you remove the ring, the person is a normal everyday mortal. Cause that's what they are. An Everyday Mortal.
Malcolm B Not steal it, as in they get that power and using it. They wouldn't be able to use the power. But then, neither would you if they removed it from your finger, or removed your finger, or hand, or arm. By. *putting on shades.* Disarming you.
problem with stopping time is all related to whether or not you age while time is stopped. If soo, that would Suck! If you could some how manage to move around in frozen time, use energy, and yet still stop your cells from slow cellular degeneration, then i would be totally down with this power. If not, then you just age prematurely and miss out on too much of the future.
Since they said you wouldn't get the subpowers that should go along with it, I would say that the ability to stop time would not allow you to be able to act with time stopped. You being able to move normal would basically be another power. If Flash isn't resistant to the damage from his speed, despite not being otherwise resistant to bullets and such. So you would freeze time and you'd be frozen forever yourself.
This episode contains my all-time-favorite After Hours quote. Swaim: "I'd be invisible. Cause there's basically nothing you can help someone else with by being invisible, and even if they ask, you *just turn invisible*." I still laugh loudly at my screen, after all these years (and hours), whenever I stumble upon it. Though I'd love it even more if, instead of "[...] you just turn invisible" he said "[...] you just *invisible*." Gold.
Not really. Because time is technically still moving, its just that from your perspective it is stationary. Say you stop time walk forward then start it, you would see just that whilst an outside observer will just see you teleport forward.
@@klausstock8020 you say that but do you know what happens when you split an atom? Also the ability to control things at the atomic level is really just telekinesis taken to the absolute extreme. So it's reasonable to say it gives you a bunch of powers as a singular power. (flight telekinesis, a facsimile of superstrength)
@@miguelmaestas839 they also did it in an episode of the remake, the entire episode we see stuff in the background or hear on a radio of something happening. The main character stops time and fixes their life, but then they stop time to save someone from being hit by a car and notice everyone looking off in horror.... At a NUKE a country had launched in a declaration of war that was two seconds away from wiping the city off the map. And she didn’t know whether to restart time or not.
@Teran - Right! The reason inmates in solitary confinement go insane is due to zero social interaction. With super-intelligence, who could you interact with? You'd live in a world where literally EVERYONE is stupider than you. You'd find conversations with your parents completely ASININE. You couldn't look your child in the face without thinking "You're a f#@king idiot".
"Screw the rules, I have money!" But if that would be a superpower, like always having tons of money, basically never having empty pockets, you could own and do everything, including breaking the global market and a complete devaluation of currency.
Being hyper-rich 1) exempts you from most laws 2) gives you infinite resources 3) the ability to invest in technology meaning you coils literally become Batman 4) the ability to maintain anonymity by just blackmailing or assassinating any large media moguls who start acting out 5) the free range to experience pretty much everything life has to offer Sign me tf up
I would totally choose shape shifting. Seriously, you could literally do anything! - You could fly (morph into something that flies) - You could have super strength (morph into something stronger) - You could become invulnerable by morphing into something resistant to the danger you are in, or just dodge spectacularly. - You could have healing power (just morph and heal yourself) - You could *nearly* teleport/have super speed: just morph into something fast, or stretch way, way out to somewhere else and then stretch the rest of yourself there. - You could *nearly* become invisible: just morph into something small and virtually unnoticeable, like a bug, or a dust particle. - Basically, given enough freedom in your shape-shifting, you would be a total boss.
And that's why if I made a comic (I already have an idea full of characters and a real life setting, but I can't draw). Complete Body Manipulation. The ability to change shape, mass, size, body temp, blood viscosity, ect. Only problem is it's a bit of a horror tragedy, so the main character is not really a hero, and must build their body mass to use their power, by consuming meat, any meat...I am pretty sure I don't have to say this, but I mean they eat people, a lot of them, but it's to save the world right? I know, I am a sick person, but in my defense, it did not begin so dark.
You'd still have the clothes problem and shape shifting probably wouldn't heal you. Also either your organs stay the same In which case you would die of you turned into anything other than a human because they'd be the wrong organs for your body or they'd change in which case so would your brain meaning of you turned into a thing non human you'd get the brain of a nonsentient being in no way similar to your own and incapable of using the power to reverse the effects so you would essentially be dead.
julius vidal - You could easily morph and make clothes appear. - Yes, it would heal you. Gaping wound? Just morph and put everything back the way it should be! - Now shape-shifting is obviously impossible to achieve within the laws of physics as we know them. In order for it to work, you would have to no longer have a conventional body with organs etc; rather, you would consist of a solid form with a mind controlling it, with an extradimensional power source to sustain you. - I'm not sure what that last bit means.
Exactly, you could turn off things such as taste or a certain sense you don't like, your mind is the most powerful thing on the planet, and there are millions of them, if we put them together think about wwhat we could do!
Poof, you now have the "power". You want to loose weight stop eating shit food and go to the gym. You want to not be scared of shit 2 options get out of your own way or see a therapist. Everyone has the ability to change their lives if they put their mind to it. Unless your disabled, inwhich cause I'm sorry (consider me an asshole).
Hm, the time-stop would be needed to be expanded to time-manipulation so you are basically able to manipulate the air around you, so you don't get stuck in air, just because the molecules won't move. Also you wouldn't be able to move anything, since it would be "cemented" in time if you only use a time-stop instead of time-manipulation.
Also, you'd be blind, because light would also stop moving and hitting your eyes. More importantly, every time you'd stop time, you'd continue to age, while everyone else stayed the same. if you abused the power too much, you'd get old faster than your calendar age would require.
themarquess This could be countered by making time move a bit faster in order to accomodate then. "Time-manipulation" would make this possible, a mere time stop not so much.
What you would need is control over matter. Because "time" is thing that humans made...time is basically matter changing and we decided to slap a name on it....things are growing old because matter it self is changing...so to actually control time you would need to control matter.
Also, if you were to "stop" time and "cement" it into a stop, wouldn't everything lose it's momentum and crash? Like, Me: "Stop time!" Me: "Time start!" Then you hear about a fully fueled flight to Europe carrying students crashing down without warning, and the rate of half-crushed birds being found limp and mangled on the sidewalk or on cars spiking, causing many of the endangered species of flying birds to go extinct or closer to extinction.
I love how every episode runs on the premise that they're the kind of casual assholes you see in Seinfeld, Friends etc. Like, they actually dissect why the comedy genre has you rooting for bad people in an episode of After Hours, but they clearly play by those rules as they write the episodes and have done from the start even if they hadnt hashed it out into an article and then an episode yet! These guys really live and breathe pop culture and its ins and outs
but If you stop time you are also stopping the passage of light. Photons would never reach your eye and you would be blind for the time, when you used your power.
the thing is in stories of powers a power never works the way you try to put it ie if a person can stop time they can still see because there bodies are specifically designed to be able to do so. or what about the theory that a cell can only replicate so many times before it stops replicating and you die. a person who has rapid cellular regeneration according to scientific theory would be awesome but would have a really short life. accept for those same people adapt and instead there power breaks the rules and instead of just spliting the cell the power creates a new one ie you eventually become immortal etc
RallyKey there is no such thing as applying logic to supernatural or super powers no one is going to have those powers and if they do there is not going to be some big ass downfall to the power. if a person develops superspeed there body will be able to hand the G force thats just logic. its called adaption. if a person is going to develop the ability to go invisible they will still be able to see. because of adaption
gunnyblender invisible people can bend light around them thats what it is. but there is always light present there would still be light present hitting there retina such is infrared light. and there is no reason to believe that someone who has powers like that would have to abide by the normal laws of the universe. if someone could go invisible obviously they would not in fact be bound to said laws so there is no reason to believe that said person would see the same way we do
Freezing time could be very harmful to you though. If you are still moving around while everyone else is frozen in time, that could imply that time for you is still moving. You would still be aging while everyone else remains the same. Do it too much, and you can drastically shorten your lifespan.
I pick reality warping. Think about it. 1. Whatever you think comes in to existence 2. You can all the money you want. 3. You can create your own private army. 4. You can even Imagine a super serum to give you more superpowers So, what do you guys think?
+wolfmatic I'd like my significant other to be a shapeshifter. Yeah, seriously, forget all the superpowers for myself, I just want to fuck all the women I can think of! And although I am a heterosexual male, I wouldn't even care what your real gender of form was...
Probability Manipulation. Which, arguably, can mean you have every super power by merely changing the probability of you having said superpower to 100%, thus being the ultimate loophole to the "1 Power Rule" as it all derives from one power. That is, unless you have to have a percentage above 0% in which case you can still have some super powers derive, but nothing like "laser beams." You can have "super strength" by changing the probability of lifting something or throwing something a set distance to 100% and you can fake invisibility by having the probability that people are aware of your presence, even when in front of them, to 0%
Technically yes, thus making it the most broken power. Now, if there was a rule against "Powers that give/create other powers or reproduces them" then Probability Manipulation would still be useable, just with restrictions to what's actually possible (like "breaking stone with your bare fist" being impossible if you don't have the physical capability to do so)
I'm not going to bother with looking through all those Probability Manipulation examples, as they probably differ in their restrictive properties (like how Super Strength differs from person to person), but Creation is probably the most powerful power ever, just shy of Omnipotence (which is Creation on steroids)
Probability manipulation doesn't only manifest as luck based and omnipotence does not always involve dissolving into time and space. It once again depends on the individual and the "type" of said power that they get, as both can come with negatives, but may not do so. I think a better term I should use to convey what kind of probability manipulation and omnipotence is "Reality Warping of the highest caliber" and just that: The ability to bend the world, what is within said world as well as its laws to your every whim and desire.
I feel the same. It may be that we're just on different pages of the same book. So, let us simply end this discussion before it becomes repetitive, agreed?
Asia Williams Surely your original body would still be aging and when that original form reaches its end, you would die. You wouldn't really be replacing for better parts, as it would not change the amount of time that you have been on the Earth
Same answer for different reasons. I think it would be awesome to be able to look like whatever or whoever you wanted, and in the vein of Michael, you could have sex in a different body every time(or just have amazing looks to draw people in). If we're including non-human shapeshifting you could arguably get any particular attribute/superpower(to a lesser extent) from an animal you like. Be a bear! You're strong and tough. Be an eagle! You can fly and have amazing vision. Be a mouse or an ant or similar! You're tiny and maneuverable. Be a Lobster or Octopus! As long as you don't get eaten or killed, you are IMMORTAL. Seriously. If you have shapeshifting you have all the powers. Nigh indestructability, immortality, flight, super speed, strength, stealth, waterbreathing, etc.
+The Learned Soldier Also depending on the mechanics of your shape shifting, you could end up with the life pan of a fruit fly, if you are constantly refreshing your cell makeup, you would be burning through your life. Then, you have to consider what it means that your examples were widely different mass wise.
+The Learned Soldier Shapeshifting in real life would hurt because you're rearranging your body on a cellular level. It would basically be like squishing your organs and bones into different shapes and you'd feel all of it. Plus, the energy required to make up for the change in mass when shifting to something bigger would require you to consume an insane amount of food for the transformation.
+Asia Williams Shape shifting, as a general term for the power, grants it no advantages like the one discussed in the video. However, by phrasing it as molecular shape shifting, you negate most if not all of the downsides. You change mass within and around you at a molecular level while maintaining your consciousness. Essentially you become Clayface from Batman... only more human (or maybe not, depending on your personal spin). You wouldn't need to eat, because you could absorb matter directly, and you wouldn't really worry about aging because you'd be more like a blob of shifting conscious mass more than a straightforward biological being, you could shift your cells to prevent aging entirely. Hell you could shit gold if you wanted to.
The ability to fill anything with anything. Empty bank account? BAM! Filled with money! Hungry? BAM! Tummy full of cupcakes! A super strength powered guy running at you at full speed? BAM! His colon is filled with porcupines!
Oh, I love poking holes in people's arguments :D 1.Filled bank account: Technically it can't be "full" so either you now have infinite money (which is worthless because of inflation) or the power backfires somehow 2.Full stomach: Technically your body tells you you're "full" once your stomach reaches a certain level. An actually full stomach would likely kill you considering your stomach can expand (and this isn't a healthy thing to make it do). 3. Porcupine Colon: .......Well...uh....see, does it mean you can fill any container with ANY object because then we have the problem of whether or not things have to actually fit in the container or if the container has to be intended for such a substance. I will admit it is a funny idea though. Finally, if you had that power in real life, everyone would just be begging "full stuff" off of you all the time. Who knows what kind of nutjobs would want you to fill what or when?
DEADLYRAT34 We can solve these problems. 1. Switch to piggy bank. 2. Switch to lunchbox. 3. Err... I guess it works? or maybe not? We'll leave that one be.
You could do the same thing if you could warp reality. Or even with matter manipulation (although in that case, you really need to know your science to use it in that level).
Reality warping, because you can: Stop time Change gravity Teleport Change chemical composition of anything, allowing you to become rich Morph Morph other people Pretty much "go into" any fictional universe Change the future Go on custom made adventures Clone anything Immortality Give these abilities to your comrades Fly Make portals Learn literally everything and be able to process it Destroy Teen Titans Go Mind control Telekinesis Agrokinesis Hydrokinesis Anything ending in -kinesis Pretty much whatever you can imagine, the universe is in sandbox mode and you're the main character. For the initial question, Thor is probably more fun to be than Superman. He's a hero in Asgard where he just fights an endless cycle of battles that he'll almost certainly always win and everyone loves him for it. Then he comes to Earth and because he's such a powerful hero but can't spend all his time there, people are just so grateful that he's there that he doesn't need to deal with any flack from those who just like to bash superheroes in there universes (the way Superman has to deal with them). Also, any time your not battling, you're doing whatever you want: there are friends and girlfriends in Asgard and on Earth who always love to hang out with you if you want to keep things mellow or romantic, people always love having you at parties because your the heavy weight thunder god that just loves to have fun when he's not kicking butt, or you can fly out into space and chill if you just want some alone time. Thor's life is awesome compared to Superman's (and pretty much every other comic character).
If we're talking about Jumper's teleportation, it mentions in the novels that he goes through self-created miniature wormholes and he can basically carry stuff with him. Much in the same way we don't loose our shirts when we go through a doorway. He carried people, money, and other things with him. Then again, I don't know if the movie powers are the same because very little from the novels was actually used in the movie. That being said, I totally want movie Jumper's powers. No crazy knights chasing you. The only downside is that you have to have either visited it or gotten really good images of the place before you can teleport there.
+Dyonus it IS genetic so EVENTUALLY you WOULD get the crazy knights following you as human beings tend to fear things they ethier do not understand or cannot control EVEN-IF it took 5000 generations... your decendants would end up with THAT fate... kinda like the heroes in the fable universe. as for remebering places you would get VERY good at it.
I would pick precognition. Even if your just able to see an hour into the future, you're practically unstoppable. Lottery, sports betting, the stock market,... you'd be a billionaire in no time. No situation would be beyond your control. You would see every danger coming and could just avoid it. Also you would have anonymity. it's not a power other people would even notice.
the power to refill anything (physical and informational) refill drinks (infinite drink) refill gift cards (infinite money) someone pisses you off. refill their bladder xD
You could also cure most diseases by refilling sick people's bodies with healthy white blood cells and heathy organs. You could solve world hunger. You could cure the problem of poorer countries not having clean water (though this might fuck with the water cycle, however if the water was to form due it condensation, it wouldn't.) You could make anyone that is mind-numbingly stupid, smart, by refilling their mind with knowledge. You could make people with bad intentions good again. You could refill people with confidence. You could save people who have life-threatening gashes on their bodies by refilling the missing flesh/anything that was damaged. You could fill a jar with money, (like, actually fill it, no powers,) empty it, then refill it, then empty it, then refill it, etc. Im out of ideas...
Hayley Larson It would be a bit more accurate if they had to lose the object/idea/thing before you could refill it. If you ''refill'' a bad person, would that give them more bad ideas? Would it revert them to the mindset they were at the last time they had good intentions? Things start getting dangerous when you refill concepts instead of physical quantities.
Telekinesis is still the best power ever. It's not just moving things with your mind. It allows a person to influence a physical system without physical interaction. The movie "Chronicle" takes a much closer look into the power itself. You could duplicate super strength, bend light for invisibility, invulnerability in certain situations, manipulate weather, create electricity, survive in space, survive the center of the Earth, fly, create and manipulate fire and ice, etc. Basically, any superpower that reacts with the physical world can be duplicated. Could it replicate a portal? _Maybe_ with a lot of practice, but why would you need to?
i still pick teleportation. even if i had to do it naked, id set up secret chests of clothes around town and just teleport to those check points. plus ill win every fight cuz no one will be able to keep track of me, only way to win is not to play.
the ability to control/manipulate energy. 1shoot me with a bullet, I'll just absorb the kinetic every. 2 hit me with a nuke...well, go back to reason 1. 3 manipulating energy gives me especially the force. 4 by controlling the energy around me I can fly. basically I would be a minor god.
for mi hole life their has ben 1 supr powr I want wich is the powr to thinc "I wish..." and it wood hapen. for eksample I cood thinc "I wish I had good spelling" and suddenly I can spell any word imaginable with ease. Full time control. (For sake of simplicity, Time Conciousness is when you are alive (or a object operates as usual) in a time altered state) Stop time, fast forward time, its rewind time, slow time, ect. You could also bring other people into Time Conciousness if you tapped them with the intent of bringing them into TC. Any objects you hold with the intent of bringing them into Time Conciousness will be. Gravity still affects any person in Time Conciousness, however it does not affect objects. Inertia works the same way. You can freeze/slow yourself while keeping the same rate of mental capability. (Ex: Slow yourself alongside time, but think at a comparatively fast rate. Slowed body, not thoughts) If you send yourself forward in time, a version of you is created that is you, and will act as you would. When you reach the desired point in time, you will overwrite the version of you, obtaining their memories and knowledge. If they are dead, you will not overwrite them. Rules are the same for altered time speed. Why this is the best: -You can predict the future, since you can experience it then go back (Lottery = free money) -You can faux teleport (Stop time, walk to desired location, resume time) -"Super Strength" (Gravity is stopped allowing you to lift anything that isnt attatched to another surface) -Super Speed (Slowed time allows for you to make movements that are super fast, but to you seem normal. A punch could kill someone.) -Perfectly time anything -Relive best moments of your life
telekinesis could be really useful. you could win a gambling game but you could also slightly move objects around you to your benefit. you could just barely move someone's bag so that the bully trips over it in the cafeteria or always win any sport. (ball flies where you want to score for your team and miss for other team) Things like that. You could manipulate any situation to your physical advantage. also just be really lazy around your house but its not like standing up to get the remote is that big of a deal. you don't get your daily workout by getting a cold soda from the fridge, you get it by exercise.
Bad Parts of Powers Strength: there's too much of it Flight: its like swimming but slower Invisibility: Blindness (light goes through your pupils and does nothing) Immortality/Invincibility: can't die Extremely Fast Healing Power: also can't die, etc.
Stopping Time: you age faster than everybody else; Super Speed & Reflex: overheating and loudness; Laser Eyes: could burn eyelids if blinking while shooting lasers; Super Intelligence: existentialism, I guess.
There are so many options I'd go with: Plant manipulation - I love nature, and could use my powers to ensure a stable food supply. Control of greenhouse gasses - fix the planet and be a hero. Water manipulation - Who wouldn't want to be a water-bender? Water creation - We need it. Light manipulation - Light daggers, control of the electromagnetic spectrum. Teleportation - All the reasons they mentioned, plus, free housing! Build your own house, or fix up an abandoned one with "Found" objects. Time Travel - You can publish fanfic of today's hits, become a seer, and/or convince people you're a god or demi-god.
Omniscience. You know when or if anything bad is going to happen to you, you know the truth about everything, and if there's ultimately a way to do something, i.e. create faster than light travel, you'll know how to make it happen. You'd know to manipulate people however you want. Only down side would be 'is the kind you can turn on and off or is it going all the time?' because the latter would literally fry your brain. I'd imagine though, with omniscience, you'd know how to turn it on and off anyway.
Controlling time is one power. Being able to move around after you've stopped time would be a whole other power. Technically once you stop time once, brain functions would stop working because your thoughts wouldn't continue because you need time to pass for that to happen, and you'd be stuck in the moment you wanted time to stop and wouldn't ever realize it. I'd like the power to alter the way someone thinks. It'd be a great way to make people understand your point, and I'm sure people can come up with more creative ways to use that power.
I know I’m just beyond late here but while rewatching this I just wanted to point out how helpful this episode and the blank face actor episode was to me for strengthening my analysis and non/linear thinking. I always remember the things that change the way I think or present another path that I would otherwise never travel myself. I mean it’s just really good stuff. Really sad this had to end. And if anyone is still reading this. Other important developments for me are arrested development. The book the lost symbol. And the most important and worldview changing one is the living planet series Remember. Use logic and rationality in life... not emotion or popular opinion.
I thought of a drawback with the Time-Out superpower: While you freeze time, you keep aging... but no one else does. Meaning from everyone else's perspective, you're aging very quickly. ...sure, you're having the time of your life doing whatever you want anonymously while time is frozen around you... and I'd choose this power were it offered... Just noting a negative about which some people might be concerned.
The problem with that is every state of being has it's flaws. Nothing is perfect, so even the most effective superpower in existence could be out-maneuvered. Which is a tragedy. :(
you pick telekinesis, because that allows complete control over the movement of objects and things, if you become really good at it, that allows you to flying, force field, extra sensory vision and also super speed and super strength, fire generation and a bunch of other crap.
I like the timeout thing, but, how do you age? Do you still age when time is paused? Or could you in a way live forever by just living in a "paused" universe. The final episode of Futurama comes to mind (Best ending to a series ever BTW) for aging while time is paused. If you still aged, and you used the "time out" a lot, you would look like 80 when you're 50 or 60.
Here is how I see it. With timeout, and assuming you are in that time frame, your body shouldn't age because your cells would not be dying out and regenerating. Any body function which involves changing something inside your body, should not happen. Which can lead to all sorts of biological problems. Hence, aging, biologically, cannot happen. Therefore, along with your argument, timeout also kinda sucks.
Simew Theferal Because it's still rooted in Science. No matter how OTT comics are, there has to be some element of truth in them. Plus, in my opinion, every super power must come with a drawback.
i believe that what they mean by timeout is to be able to move while others are frozen in time. this is not possible as time is not bias. the only to do that is to travel at the speed of light which everything slows down to a still but you are still moving. this is just back to square one on super speed
*iowafarmboy* to answer your question. yes, you do age. since you can move in frozen time, you age at a normal rate. other will perceive you to have age for the duration of time spent in frozen time.
Having an eye that can analyze anything so that you know the best thing to do in a situation. Kind of like a cyborg but only the eye vinnected to your brain
Daniel failed to calculate that if you levitate you can just stop yourself from moving entirely and let the earth spin while your position relative to the spin of the earth stays the same, this would be near instantaneous travel across the globe at a high enough height
That's not how it works. The atmosphere "spins" with the earth. Think suspending a ball in a moving car, it's still gonna arrive at the car's destination with everything else inside it.
I always say teleportation with this question. I've never seen any movie or comic where the character has to teleport naked. I think it would be better than the time out. Do you personally age when stopping time while everyone else stays the same age? If so, After using it all the time even in short bursts, it will add up and you will eventually age significantly faster than you normally would.
I don't necessarily agree that you would age that much faster unless you used it excessively. If you stop time for an extra hour of personal time each day, you'll only age an extra year after 24 years of doing that.
I would simply choose the ability to manipulate reality, why have any other power, when you can control existence? You are basically a God, worried about dying, manipulate either that you never die, or are invincible, it's almost fool proof.
Yeah, then even if you messed up the universe to some point where you couldn't fix it, you could always just make it reality that you never had the power in the first place.
I think teleportation like Jumper is actually pretty cool and applicable. Your clothes teleport with you and if it is in the real world, you don't have to worry about white haired Samuel L. Jackson.
Teleporting only works if you know the location. You go to your job, unaware one of the more inconsiderate co-workers started a fire after dropping a cigarette, you will burn or if you go to a bank or something to troll the system by stealing money and end up in a place with 50 people, you will be hunted
Michael Iv no that wouldnt happen if you poped into a room with a lot of people even if they looked right at you. as soon as you left they would start to doubt that you were there at all. more likely they would think your a ghost. NO the real threat from that power is probly that you could jump INTO things and die instantly
edward tucker The only problem I see with teleportation is you HAVE to know SPECIFICALLY where you teleport, otherwise you're risking teleporting into walls and suffocating, like you said.
The main character in Jumper had his penthouse walls full of photographs from around the world, so yeah, if you teleport somewhere secluded it shouldnt be a problem. Also, if you know a place really well, like his house or the library, you could teleport there on default
Teleporting without the clairvoyance to aim it results in you teleporting into objects which is generally considered maiming to lethal. Time stop if it only affects you means the immobile air holds you in place; assuming touched matter also moves with you the big problems are 1: light isn't moving so you are only seeing the light you walk into and you leave a lightless trail behind yourself so any backtracking comes with areas of blindness, and 2: air you haven't touched yet won't get sucked into your lungs so the duration is essentially only as long as you can hold your breath.
My idea is similar. It would be to travel to any universe. You could find a magic or scientific doohickey that gives you the power. Plus with my idea, you could watch any fictional story first hand. Wanna watch superman save the world? No prob travel to a universe were he exists, and watch him beat up Lex Luthor. Theoretically, there is a universe for every possible difference. You would just need to travel to the universe that has the thing you need/want to watch
So you want to be a self-fulfilling genie? But that's not true fulfillment. Believe it or not, humans thrive on adversity. Without conflict, there's no growth. Without growth, there's no evolution. There's also no real satisfaction when all you have is instant gratification. Humans enjoy things more when they feel it's been earned. You're looking at it way too superficially, without understanding the nuance and complexity of how we as humans derive enjoyment from our personal experiences. Life would be incredibly dull, everything would be equally accessible & lose all value. That's not the kind of life anybody would want. It'd get boring fast.
i still think telekinetic is the best power pick up anything with your mind and you have the ability to fly like all the things they did in the movie chronicles
I have a way better super power. The power to enter any story, video game, movie, book, or anything like that, and be any character i want, or make a new character all together and have him/her/it have any power or ability.
Technically, aren't Time Out and Time In TWO powers? So you'd Time Out, but then time would no longer move for you until (I guess) you die, assuming you can.
There's a power that always intrigued me: the ability to put everything in perspective. Like make the sun disappear by blocking its view with your hand... because you can't see the sun behind your hand thus it doesn't exist... destroying the solar system in the process. Power right there!!!
It is a cool idea, but in the context it would almost immediately wipe out humanity, as well as a vast majority of existence. That being said... suck it, Superman. There is a webcomic I am fond of, called Paranatural, which actually has a minor character that uses this power. Uses it to one-shot a damn powerful entity. Definitely powerful. Since you appear to have the kind of mind-set for it, you should check it out - paranatural.net - takes a bit to get into, but I think you'll find it well worth it.
The best super power would be the power of suggestion/manipulation. 1) You can use it for your own benefit (to see boobs, butts, and vaginas) 2) No one would bother you about it, it wouldn't draw attention, because you could simply suggest to those people to leave you alone, or that they didn't see what they thought they saw.
Living forever would increase your chances of getting trapped, but it is impossible to be trapped anywhere FOREVER. The chances of being freed somehow or just waiting for whatever is trapping you to deteriorate would be the only certainty
All Fiction, Kumagawa's power from Medaka Box. The ability to turn things/concepts/possible futures/events/people/places into fiction. I.E. The future in which I don't exist alive, well, and young, with my mind intact, is fiction= immortality I.E. Me not having (insert super power here) is fiction= Any super power you'd want. Check and mate.
The reverse, actually, it means the ability to turn anything into fiction. Including facts, concepts, and events that have already occured. Example: The fact that I can die is fiction. The fact: "this person can die" is now "false". Thusly, any death that befalls him now and in the future, does not happen. Any death he expriences is reduced to fiction. Stab him, cut him, slice him in two, it won't matter. Because none of it actually happened. You hurting him was just a figment of your imagination. XD ....rather than ruling the universe, naturally, Kumagawa just uses it to troll the heck out of everyone else in the story.
It's not activated by his speech or anything, so no matter what he said he couldn't accidently use the power. He's shown using it many times without ever saying anything. Him actually saying out loud the things he's making false is just his flair for the dramatic (and likely so the reader can follow what he's doing with it for narrative purposes.) It's established at the end that he's finally mastered his power enough to be able to reverse the things that he labels as "False" (in fact it goes hand in hand with character development) but originally no, he couldn't control it to that degree.
Effing shapeshifting is always my answer. Need superstrength? Turn into a gorilla. Need to go really, really fast? A cheetah, or maybe a wolf for long distances. Want to fly? Turn into a bird. You pretty much have all the superpowers you need. From mother nature.
But then you have the clothes problem again. Turn into a cheetah and your clothes no longer fit. What's the point of getting somewhere far away fast if you are naked when you arrive. Not to mention, if you are a wolf in a city... people will try to kill you.
Pfft, turn into a small animal or bird and steal clothing. And also, you can just be a stray dog. Nobody'll kill a stray dog in the middle of a city. If you get caught by a animal shelter, you can just tun into a naked human and weird the s**t outta the person and ESCAPE! Aha!
Teleportation is probably what i'd go with. Here's why:
They mentioned Jumper, and that's the main reason why, the teleportation in Jumper isn't teleportation, it's portal creation.
MCNT052 I'm fine either way. You are your memories and personality, as long as the 'copy' had those, it's you.
Yeah. It's not your molecules that make you you. It is your personality and memories that make you you.
i imaine like, if you copy and paste something, you get an exact replica of the original, but its still not the original in the first place.
I would drop everything in my life just to get this series back on again

"Assuming your clothes don't teleport, you'd have to be naked constantly"
He specifically said "Jumper". A movie where they open rifts in space and jump through them to teleport, clothes intact. Why would you then assume that their clothes wouldn't teleport?
So it's not teleportation in Jumper, it's opening a wormhole. So it indeed doesn't apply to their discussion :)
@@CesarDaSalad That's still teleportation. And again, the rebuttal was to him specifically mentioning the movie Jumper. So it clearly DOES apply to the discussion since y'know, it WAS the discussion.
Even that specific form of teleportation has it's limits. You need to know the location you'd want to end up at.
@@HappyBeezerStudios Not much of a drawback. Anakin only needed postcard pictures to jump to a location. Go on Google, look up a picture of a location and you can be there in seconds.
Didn't he jump an entire apartment? Pretty sure he could take clothes with him.
What about the power of knowing how likely something could happen. For example, "I wonder if that girl will reject me if I ask her out." a percentage would appear before your eyes and give you the likelihood of you succeeding. Similar to Fallout.
Rusty Shackelfurgs the life dont gona have sense
Like in video games or movies where the android has a percentage based system on what he should focus on?(Detroit become human) I think that would simply allow you to avoid awkward moments or give some insight into what would be best for you in life. @@charliepotatoes001 yes
Also if you freeze time, light would not move, therefore you would be blind.

I agree with the Time Out but I would still like immortality.
Cain Soren Well okay, I can respect your opinion. I still think you're vastly overestimating the human mental resilience. You'd go insane.
Gravity. It means flight, altered telekinesis, can crush any under their own weight, can increase my own weight for a sick workout regiment, and I could create mini black holes and white holes.
You're assuming a lot about the power. Using gravity control like that is like saying "im like Cyclops but i can shoot lasers out of your eyes too if i feel like it"
Much more reasonable is the ability to control your interaction with gravity, how much you weigh, how much your gravity pulls things around you, and if you're skilled produce some gravity waves.

+Shimmy Shaker Pretty good.
+Shimmy Shaker so making slaves out of people. Very Killgrave of you.
Like Obi-Wan Kenobi...but cooler.
but that can drive you crazy because you'll never know when people are talking from their will and not from your control
In which case, while you might have a 'nicer' life, it will be a lot shorter based on the amount of 'extra' time you spend in the 'time out' position. ... I mean, if we're going to assume that going invisible or teleportation _doesn't_ include your clothing, shouldn't we assume your personal time continues as well?
well if you could manipulate the world to your advantage you could get the best medicine around and have the best medical attention on the planet therefore making you live longer
collin hill
The question then becomes does the time you lose in Time Out equal or exceed the time you _gain_ from such things? Remember, also, that much of 'the best medicine' requires time on your part (exercise). And much of the rest is a matter of diminishing returns. You have to put more and more effort (money, resources) into medical care to get less and less improvement.
Robin Dude But if you can get the people of the planet to worship you like the people of north Korea worship their leader the money and resources should be no problem. Plus if you pause time i don't think vehicles would work so you would have to walk everywhere therefore exercise is eliminated.
collin hill
The video was talking about getting a power _now_, with your life unchanging.
However, as I mentioned above, I'm not sure how much increased quality you can get without being a thief at the minimum.
i will admit you do pose great points but either way it is still a cool power never the less.

Shapeshifting, like Mystique. Always look your best.
One better possession instead of altering you'reself be chis Hemsworth
No bad hair days!
that could include regeneration
But without her ability to reshape her body, you could only impersonate people your own height, weight and gender. So it would be a small pool of options.
Hmm, if the superpower is specifically to change your own body into a form you want, I'd assume most people would first change gender to experience some things from the other side, than take on perfect looks, then start a life of crime, because when you look like somebody else, noone will get you.
I'd have shape shifting, it would basically be every power if I turned specific parts into specific things
So you want to be plastic man?
No shape shifting, being able to be any shape or form
For shape shifting I meant I could change to any object and animal and saying that I could change specific parts to work like any other thing like put giant spider web slingers on my wrists and I could have spidermans ability to sling webs, so basically I would manipulate certain parts of my body to do certain things, I would basically have beast boy's power but better
Gage D'Orlando
yeah, but without his spider-strength you'd rip your arms off immediately. Not just dislocate them. RIP THEM OFF
Roberta Tallienne
He could just use his shape shifting powers to strenghten his arms enaugh. Besides, human arms are probably stronger than you think.
"Is being rich a power?"
According to Batman, yes, it is.
I’m allowed to choose any single power? Reality manipulation. I can now do virtually anything outside the realm of thought; every reality based power rolled up into one.
So kinda like Q from Star Trek or Nagato from Haruhi or whatever that dude's name is who messes with Superman.
ConsoleCrashersShow Not quite Q’s level; he has telepathic abilities, which is outside the plane of reality. Pretty much everything else though.
so the scarlet witch?
Logan smith Much more control.
What if reality is just a figment of your imagination?
I think Green Lantern's power ring would work for this. There's no underlying fine print like flight or super speed. The only things you have to bring to the table are imagination, will power, and a finger. All human beings have imagination and will power; granted, if you have shitty imagination and will power then you're going to have shitty constructs, but you'll still have them. The ring takes care of literally everything else for you
Not a Power. It's a Weapon that gives you powers ^-^
Opposite. The ring doesn't give YOU powers, you give the RING power. It manifests you're willpower. It's a 'draws' whatever you think. That's why it's different for every person, and as soon as you remove the ring, the person is a normal everyday mortal. Cause that's what they are. An Everyday Mortal.
And the weakness of that is that somebody could just "steal" your superpowers while you're sleeping or something.
Malcolm B Not steal it, as in they get that power and using it. They wouldn't be able to use the power. But then, neither would you if they removed it from your finger, or removed your finger, or hand, or arm.
By. *putting on shades.* Disarming you.
As I understand Green Lantern, the ring picks YOU... you don't pick the ring.
Someone could steal your ring, but they couldn't use it...
problem with stopping time is all related to whether or not you age while time is stopped. If soo, that would Suck! If you could some how manage to move around in frozen time, use energy, and yet still stop your cells from slow cellular degeneration, then i would be totally down with this power. If not, then you just age prematurely and miss out on too much of the future.
Deadpool game came out and you didnt do shit.
Cause there's basically nothing you can help someone else with by being invisible, and even if they ask, you *just turn invisible*."
I still laugh loudly at my screen, after all these years (and hours), whenever I stumble upon it. Though I'd love it even more if, instead of "[...] you just turn invisible" he said "[...] you just *invisible*."
Gold.
It contains probably my favourite after hours joke too, Dan's sports terms/teams
You age faster than everybody else with time out.
Yeah and what if you lose your power with time still paused like good job you fucked up the entire world lol
Not really. Because time is technically still moving, its just that from your perspective it is stationary. Say you stop time walk forward then start it, you would see just that whilst an outside observer will just see you teleport forward.
Johnny Salami
Essentially, yes.
Not Necessarily They never established that in the Saved by The Bell
Lightningy so it’s more like a quicksilver scene from x men rather than a saved by the bell time stop
The best power is to be able to controlls something at the atomic level
you could literaly bend the universe to your will
exactly! :) and to be able to break and create molecular bonds.. unparalled power!
That ability drove Doctor Manhattan in The Watchmen to become both inhuman and slightly insane.
@@charliepotatoes001 well one does not have to excercise his powers.. I can set rules for using them.
Manipulating atoms...one atom at a time...is not that immensely useful.
The power to refill things. Ex: ammo, water bottles, ink in pens, phone battery, wallet... your enemy's bladder...
OH. MY. GOD.
This is my new favorite superpower!
Telekinesis, you are no longer #1.
The time “superpower” was a Twilight Zone episode. He couldn’t restart time.
Gonna find it!

"A Little Peace and Quiet"
@@miguelmaestas839 they also did it in an episode of the remake, the entire episode we see stuff in the background or hear on a radio of something happening. The main character stops time and fixes their life, but then they stop time to save someone from being hit by a car and notice everyone looking off in horror....
At a NUKE a country had launched in a declaration of war that was two seconds away from wiping the city off the map.
And she didn’t know whether to restart time or not.
He had a magical watch. It wasn't a superpower.
Sometimes the TZ gives you a fate worse than death.
What about reality warping? Or even luck manipulation?
luck manipulation, while not sexy on the surface, could ultimately be the most powerful super power.
+crimsonsamuraiftw unless something such as destiny or fate exists.
Duh, superintelligence.
And then you have to deal with morons forever.
The only power I want is to be fine with my own mortality.
GravitySloth I agree
The best power would be omniscience. Because then you can do literally everything else simply by mulling it over for a bit.

"What's your superpower again?"
"I'm rich"
"Screw the rules, I have money!"
But if that would be a superpower, like always having tons of money, basically never having empty pockets, you could own and do everything, including breaking the global market and a complete devaluation of currency.
Being hyper-rich
1) exempts you from most laws
2) gives you infinite resources
3) the ability to invest in technology meaning you coils literally become Batman
4) the ability to maintain anonymity by just blackmailing or assassinating any large media moguls who start acting out
5) the free range to experience pretty much everything life has to offer

Come back Cracked!!
Answer is obviously perfect timing.
Yeah!
Oh I'm four years late. Far from perfect timing! 😆
I would totally choose shape shifting. Seriously, you could literally do anything!
- You could fly (morph into something that flies)
- You could have super strength (morph into something stronger)
- You could become invulnerable by morphing into something resistant to the danger you are in, or just dodge spectacularly.
- You could have healing power (just morph and heal yourself)
- You could *nearly* teleport/have super speed: just morph into something fast, or stretch way, way out to somewhere else and then stretch the rest of yourself there.
A4DM The Deadman
Well that escalated quickly.
You'd still have the clothes problem and shape shifting probably wouldn't heal you.
Also either your organs stay the same In which case you would die of you turned into anything other than a human because they'd be the wrong organs for your body or they'd change in which case so would your brain meaning of you turned into a thing non human you'd get the brain of a nonsentient being in no way similar to your own and incapable of using the power to reverse the effects so you would essentially be dead.
julius vidal
- You could easily morph and make clothes appear.
BrownieComicWriter if you're no longer a human its not "one power to use in your everyday life anymore"
I'd say full control of my mind and body. You could get past any fears you have, AND you could change yourself however you wanted.
Deadward Kenway
Plastic surgery and a therapist.
guy Farting exactly
Exactly, you could turn off things such as taste or a certain sense you don't like, your mind is the most powerful thing on the planet, and there are millions of them, if we put them together think about wwhat we could do!
You can stop being lazy or fat dude
Poof, you now have the "power". You want to loose weight stop eating shit food and go to the gym. You want to not be scared of shit 2 options get out of your own way or see a therapist. Everyone has the ability to change their lives if they put their mind to it. Unless your disabled, inwhich cause I'm sorry (consider me an asshole).
You know what I love most about Soren is he’s a smart jock.
Who takes 15 minutes to add up basic numbers 😂
the power of refill. Need another drink? Refill your cup. Someone else needs a drink? refill their cup. Don't like someone, refill.... their bladder.
You could counter the missing mass of the universe theory and cause a Big Crunch instead of a Big Bang.
More importantly, every time you'd stop time, you'd continue to age, while everyone else stayed the same. if you abused the power too much, you'd get old faster than your calendar age would require.
themarquess
This could be countered by making time move a bit faster in order to accomodate then.
Like, Me: "Stop time!"
Me: "Time start!"
Then you hear about a fully fueled flight to Europe carrying students crashing down without warning, and the rate of half-crushed birds being found limp and mangled on the sidewalk or on cars spiking, causing many of the endangered species of flying birds to go extinct or closer to extinction.
Kyle Allen
I think, since you would freeze time itself, momentum and such would be preserved.
I would have the power to give myself any power. That is the best power.
That is the stupidest loophole ever
Best loophole ever
Haha Eric Cartman's power then.
Ah the old I wish for unlimited wishes clause!
Guardian, they said you only can have one if you use that power you have more than one...
Photons would never reach your eye and you would be blind for the time, when you used your power.
gunnyblender good point, i didn't consider that.
the thing is in stories of powers a power never works the way you try to put it ie if a person can stop time they can still see because there bodies are specifically designed to be able to do so. or what about the theory that a cell can only replicate so many times before it stops replicating and you die. a person who has rapid cellular regeneration according to scientific theory would be awesome but would have a really short life. accept for those same people adapt and instead there power breaks the rules and instead of just spliting the cell the power creates a new one ie you eventually become immortal etc
houseofaction yes, but the point of the video was to look at super powers in a logical world. Any storyteller can make loopholes without effort.
1. Whatever you think comes in to existence
2. You can all the money you want.
3. You can create your own private army.
4. You can even Imagine a super serum to give you more superpowers
So, what do you guys think?
What about super intelligence? you could accomplish all the things you said with it...
Mr. sir Yea but with reality warping you technically have infinite resources, since you technically have infinite thoughts. :D
This video is literally 11 years old and people are still in the comment section!!!! I love it!!!!
Time control. I could freeze, reverse, and fast forward time.
+Edward Gil (ObaREX) AGREED! + if you stop time and punch someone even if they are superman they might die instantly
OMAR Well, I won't do that then.
Edward Gil yeah i won't recommend doing that
OMAR I'd mostly just use it to cheat on exams.
Edward Gil i think if you even move you will make a hole in space and time + a shockwave that might destroy a part of the earth
Shapeshifting
+wolfmatic I'd like my significant other to be a shapeshifter. Yeah, seriously, forget all the superpowers for myself, I just want to fuck all the women I can think of! And although I am a heterosexual male, I wouldn't even care what your real gender of form was...
You'd get hunted while also constantly ripping your clothes
That would be more than 1 power too. Because you couldnt turn into anything thats bigger than you or smaller
Probability Manipulation. Which, arguably, can mean you have every super power by merely changing the probability of you having said superpower to 100%, thus being the ultimate loophole to the "1 Power Rule" as it all derives from one power. That is, unless you have to have a percentage above 0% in which case you can still have some super powers derive, but nothing like "laser beams." You can have "super strength" by changing the probability of lifting something or throwing something a set distance to 100% and you can fake invisibility by having the probability that people are aware of your presence, even when in front of them, to 0%
That's basically omnipotence; does that really count as one power?
Who else still rewatches these regularly
Shape shifting, i could be immortal only as long as I want by replacing failing parts with better ones!
Yelling 'Invisible!' whenever you turn invisible :'D
The ability to fill anything with anything. Empty bank account? BAM! Filled with money! Hungry? BAM! Tummy full of cupcakes! A super strength powered guy running at you at full speed? BAM! His colon is filled with porcupines!
a villan has no bullets anymore, BAM! its full of them, BAM! your dead
Richard Gijsbers Ability, not curse. You can control it....
Oh, I love poking holes in people's arguments :D
1.Filled bank account: Technically it can't be "full" so either you now have infinite money (which is worthless because of inflation) or the power backfires somehow
2.Full stomach: Technically your body tells you you're "full" once your stomach reaches a certain level.

Time control is the best power
Assuming you don't age while time is stopped
Wish granting is more usefull.
Need something? Just wish for it.
You can probably stack powers if you wish for it
@@youtubestudiosucks978 yeah, time control is technically my 2nd best power choice
But the ability to literally do anything you want and control everything is the obvious best power
The jumper kind of teleportation means you can brig stuff in the area around you with you
If we're talking about Jumper's teleportation, it mentions in the novels that he goes through self-created miniature wormholes and he can basically carry stuff with him.
***** so go to google maps
adrian murillo Shame it didn't exist when the book was written.
Also you would have anonymity. it's not a power other people would even notice.
the power to refill anything (physical and informational)
refill drinks (infinite drink)
refill gift cards (infinite money)
someone pisses you off. refill their bladder xD
tht would be an amazing power
World about to end? Refill the world?
bartorzech21 not sure if that counts
You could also cure most diseases by refilling sick people's bodies with healthy white blood cells and heathy organs.
You could solve world hunger.
You could cure the problem of poorer countries not having clean water (though this might fuck with the water cycle, however if the water was to form due it condensation, it wouldn't.)
You could make anyone that is mind-numbingly stupid, smart, by refilling their mind with knowledge.
Wouldn't an invisible being also be blind?
Thats true, the light cant get reach your eyes so you cant see.
Just control it so your eyes can reappear
Because science
@@saigaihikigane6150 That would be truly terrifying!
Being a technopath would be the best one in this day and age
Telekinesis is still the best power ever. It's not just moving things with your mind. It allows a person to influence a physical system without physical interaction. The movie "Chronicle" takes a much closer look into the power itself. You could duplicate super strength, bend light for invisibility, invulnerability in certain situations, manipulate weather, create electricity, survive in space, survive the center of the Earth, fly, create and manipulate fire and ice, etc. Basically, any superpower that reacts with the physical world can be duplicated. Could it replicate a portal? _Maybe_ with a lot of practice, but why would you need to?
i still pick teleportation. even if i had to do it naked, id set up secret chests of clothes around town and just teleport to those check points. plus ill win every fight cuz no one will be able to keep track of me, only way to win is not to play.
just imagining a fight where a naked guy teleports everywhere sounds hilarious
the ability to control/manipulate energy.
1shoot me with a bullet, I'll just absorb the kinetic every.
2 hit me with a nuke...well, go back to reason 1.
3 manipulating energy gives me especially the force.
4 by controlling the energy around me I can fly.
basically I would be a minor god.
absorb the kinetic *energy*
*essentially* use the force
Now I gotta watch X Men First Class again haha
That sounds like more than 1 power. Also if someone shoots you in the back it wouldnt work.
Also, you have to constantly expel that energy. Plus, how often are you in those situations of being shot? And wouldn't fire do the trick?
for mi hole life their has ben 1 supr powr I want wich is the powr to thinc "I wish..." and it wood hapen. for eksample I cood thinc "I wish I had good spelling" and suddenly I can spell any word imaginable with ease. I could do so many things and if I do something and later realize that it was a bad idea I could be like "I wish to undo my last wish" and sudenlee it gos bak to normel.
Vairy klevur.
You wish to had farily odd parents without da rules? Know that is cheating.
Damn this deserves more likes, +1
basically being a reality manipulation bordering on omnipotence, its basically having all powers lol
@cheeseman Lmao
Full time control.
(For sake of simplicity, Time Conciousness is when you are alive (or a object operates as usual) in a time altered state)
Stop time, fast forward time, its rewind time, slow time, ect.
Slowed body, not thoughts)
If you send yourself forward in time, a version of you is created that is you, and will act as you would. When you reach the desired point in time, you will overwrite the version of you, obtaining their memories and knowledge. If they are dead, you will not overwrite them.
Rules are the same for altered time speed.
Why this is the best:
-You can predict the future, since you can experience it then go back (Lottery = free money)
-You can faux teleport (Stop time, walk to desired location, resume time)
-"Super Strength" (Gravity is stopped allowing you to lift anything that isnt attatched to another surface)
-Super Speed (Slowed time allows for you to make movements that are super fast, but to you seem normal. A punch could kill someone.)
-Perfectly time anything
-Relive best moments of your life
telekinesis could be really useful. you could win a gambling game but you could also slightly move objects around you to your benefit. you could just barely move someone's bag so that the bully trips over it in the cafeteria or always win any sport.
Bad Parts of Powers
Strength: there's too much of it
Flight: its like swimming but slower
Invisibility: Blindness (light goes through your pupils and does nothing)
Immortality/Invincibility: can't die
Extremely Fast Healing Power: also can't die, etc.
Stopping Time: you age faster than everybody else;
Super Speed & Reflex: overheating and loudness;
Laser Eyes: could burn eyelids if blinking while shooting lasers;
Super Intelligence: existentialism, I guess.
what about the ability to manipulate luck?
There are so many options I'd go with:
Plant manipulation - I love nature, and could use my powers to ensure a stable food supply.
I read awhile ago that the greatest super power is the ability to refill things?
Yep. Refil your bank account and drink, ect. And if someone pisss you off you can refil their bladder over and over.
You don't get affected by freezing time. Even so, personal timeline alteration is better
And the most important and worldview changing one is the living planet series
Remember. Use logic and rationality in life... not emotion or popular opinion.
You. I like the way you think. 😎👍
If we're talking sitcoms too, I'd take the Fonz's power to make any machine work by just hitting it.
HEY~~~
Shape shifting you can shape shift into a version of your self with whatever power you want win win
Shapes aren't powers
shapes are powers
Geometry is a super power
The power to give yourself super powers, is the most OP
*You* *Win*
You mean just give yourslf powers or like Rogue powers where you touch peoples skin to gain their skills
Basicly the power to change reality in any way you imagine.
lol yes way OP
The problem with that is every state of being has it's flaws. Nothing is perfect, so even the most effective superpower in existence could be out-maneuvered. Which is a tragedy. :(
you pick telekinesis, because that allows complete control over the movement of objects and things, if you become really good at it, that allows you to flying, force field, extra sensory vision and also super speed and super strength, fire generation and a bunch of other crap.
if your power is to freeze time, how are you able to move? if its only one power isnt that a problem?
It's already science fiction, so why not say that it also just stops you from aging?
Like the Sharingan from Naruto
Brus All Mighty
or instead of getting rid of you god like power make it reality that those events never happened
Adamus Prime hey that's what I wrote, somebody with common sense!
batgirl of awesome Maths manipulation is better.
maths manipulation is pretty pointles
NO the real threat from that power is probly that you could jump INTO things and die instantly
edward tucker
The only problem I see with teleportation is you HAVE to know SPECIFICALLY where you teleport, otherwise you're risking teleporting into walls and suffocating, like you said.
The Melon Better reason to have "self spawn"
The best super power is the ability to grant any power to yourself that you can think of
My idea is similar.
But in this context thats just a lame answer. Its like you get one wish and you wish for unlimited wishes.
Omnipotence is having unlimited power so yeah all powerful is the answer
NJE Recordings Blue Skadooded we can to!
So your basically an oc in fanfiction.
Yukari Yakumo level.
+XKitsuneZero what
It is a cool idea, but in the context it would almost immediately wipe out humanity, as well as a vast majority of existence.
Blink and everything is gone
But of course, if you can make stuff disappear, the reverse is also possible.
The ability to manipulate matter to your will you could do anything
Living forever would increase your chances of getting trapped, but it is impossible to be trapped anywhere FOREVER. The chances of being freed somehow or just waiting for whatever is trapping you to deteriorate would be the only certainty
All Fiction, Kumagawa's power from Medaka Box. The ability to turn things/concepts/possible futures/events/people/places into fiction.
I.E. The future in which I don't exist alive, well, and young, with my mind intact, is fiction= immortality
I.E. Me not having (insert super power here) is fiction= Any super power you'd want.
Check and mate.
simpler to make anything you wanted real. :L
glen hansen Simpler... but not nearly as cool sounding. XD
XD
....rather than ruling the universe, naturally, Kumagawa just uses it to troll the heck out of everyone else in the story.
It's not activated by his speech or anything, so no matter what he said he couldn't accidently use the power. He's shown using it many times without ever saying anything. Him actually saying out loud the things he's making false is just his flair for the dramatic (and likely so the reader can follow what he's doing with it for narrative purposes.)
It's established at the end that he's finally mastered his power enough to be able to reverse the things that he labels as "False" (in fact it goes hand in hand with character development) but originally no, he couldn't control it to that degree.
Control all of Reality!!!'
That is way too much pressure. There's a lot of reality
Aha!
I would want to be able to freeze time, you could do stuff for ages and time wouldn't change :)
Would probably hurt like fuck.
yesi agree shapeshifting is perfect or of course freeze time u could cheat on every test and win= good job=money
Ummm Mystique's Shape shifting is useful. You can shift your body into different people, body structures and animals.
