    Out of like 20 tutorials on this, this is the only video that is actually thorough, concise, and sequential. I have no idea what the other videos were trying to do, but this is SOOOO HELPFUL!!! I can see from your signal path graph at 1:34 it would be pretty simple to add a mic'd amp to the end of the pedal chain too. SICK!!!!

    I saw every vid and read everything I could find after receiving my extc stereo
    Even the included direction don’t explain the DAW routing like you have here
    I have Apollo and ProTools but at least I can see a working template
    Thanks for the vid it’s the only one with useful info👍

    That's an excellent example of when to use the I/O plugin inside Logic. It automatically compensates for latency when using outboard gear. No need to figure out the exact sample latency by ear. Great demonstration though!

    It's an irritating background track that makes it hard to focus on the dialog. I had to check my audio settings to be sure that I wasn't feedbacking into youtube. Beside that... it's a good tutorial.

    Really helpfull vídeo! I think the impedance problem doesn't appear if the fiesta pedal has a buffer but I'm not sure.
    I'm tryng to replicate the conexión like a real amp with amplitubre for the pre and the cab SIM but with real pedals something like 4 cable method

    • @musicplanetnz
      @musicplanetnz  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for the feedback! We dont have any plans to make a video on that, but if you use a guitar DI track (instead of a drum track like in the video) you can do the exact same thing shown in the video - you can even run it through an amp and mic it up if you want. This process is what most people refer to when they say "reamp" and there are tonnes of videos on TH-cam explaining it, so hopefully you can find something that will help you out

    I'm a completely newbie and I still understand very little about these things.
    I got an ocean machine mooer (guitar pedal) with a focusrite-solo for xmas.
    I don't use guitar, I only use daw (ableton).
    Does the focusrite-solo work to connect the pedal to my pc or do I need a different audio interface (with more in/out-puts)?
    (I couldn't try to set everything up still because I miss some cables).

  • @truk8095

    I don't understand why you've connected the playback outputs to ur speakers and not used the inserts on the back of the interface for connecting the pedals? wouldnt ur speakers be connected through the main output and as ur creating a bus obvs using send and returns would u send it through the insert on the back of the interface?

    Do you not need a reamp box to convert the line level signal back into a high impedance signal like what comes out of an actual guitar?
    Edit: ah ok, you addressed that later in the video

  • @pimentocheese618
    @pimentocheese618 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi! good video. So basically all you need is to connect your pedals into the interface and that's it?
    I have a question. Is there any way to modify the chain order of the mix between the physical pedals and the chain in the daw? For example, i have a physical compressor pedal. But i want to use it AFTER an Eq Plugin that is in the daw. Is that possible? thanks!

    • @house2954
      @house2954 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you add your EQ plugin to the buss that is routed to your interface output, it will apply the EQ to your signal before it hits your compression pedal.

  • @kennethdarlington
    @kennethdarlington ปีที่แล้ว

    Aren't pedals, especially guitar ones, requiring instrument level signal as an input, not line one (which is hotter)?

  • @redguitar6062
    @redguitar6062 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    You come out of the back to go in the front? I'm trying to use the 18i8 to route a MOOD mk2 pedal using outputs 3-4 from the 18i8 into the MOOD and the the MOOD output into line inputs 5-6 on the back of the interface. I've been trying all day to no avail. I suspect it's something in Focusrite Control but for the life of me i don't know what it is.

    How do you know when you need a reamp low impedance to high impedance box?

    • @gitarman666
      @gitarman666 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You always need to match impedance so if your shooting for line level from a mismatched source which will be 99%
      Of the time you need a RE-amp
      Your question should not be do I need one but which one to by
      I have 4
      2 active for my passive feeds and 2 passive for my active feeds but it is fine to experiment with various pickups and RE-amp types because your not
      Sacrificing big tonal differences or picking up the noise from a mismatched impedance
      Learn to gain stage, learn to feed proper analog phase instead of digitally correcting it in post if you can and always match your impedance

    I also use Logic and my Audio interface is a Steinberg UR-44 and when I route it like you with my Strymon Flint it makes a constant high pitch tone. I guess this is the sound of the impedance mismatch requiring a reamping box?
