Oh Gosh! Dear Russell, you read my mind. This is exactly what I need for my students, so they get familiarize with Zoom. I've just shared your in my classes on Google Classroom. Wish all the best! Have a wonderful afternoon. It's 9:27 a.m. here in Lima. By the way, I'm Wayra.
well I wonder why but there are some worries about security flea in using zoom system and many people have already started to discard the program from their devices. they fear about fishing of networks. I stick to Skype in teaching my students.
Thank you for the lovely comment.I have some new stuff coming out very soon. It might be worth signing up to the newsletter on my website www.teachertrainingvideos.com/sign-up. Hope you are having a nice weekend
Not only have Russell's videos proved very helpful, he took the time to answer my email with the solution to my problem. He was both on point and helpful. His example is worth emulating!
You should be able to share a link in the chat window which is a hyperlink, but it depends on what version you and your students are using. If a hyperlink doesn't appear then students will need to copy and paste as you suggest, Russell. This hyperlink (along with the file transfer option) was disabled for a couple of weeks, and restored with version 4.6 and now 5.0.
Glad it was helpful! I put loads of videos on my website about Zoom and they are very popular. You might find them useful. teachertrainingvideos.com/Zoom
@@ttvRussell Quick question. When I post documents in the chat box they are not always accessible to everyone. What are the criteria for being able to view and download a document within a zoom meeting?
Something that teachers need to know is that sometimes Zoom will change your audio level between sessions without any input from you. It also doesn't work well with some video creation/editing programs (ManyCam was one that I was using).
Russell, this is great ! Could you do a similar video but directed solely at students as if giving them a basic tutorial - perhaps with graded language so that I could send it to them and thereby they could learn how to be a student on Zoom. In other words, the same content but as if a student were watching it - thanks. Or perhaps you have a video like this already - if so please link, cheers :)
Declan, I don't I am afraid. I will keep that in mind for a future video. Thanks for the nice comments. More free Zoom videos here www.teachertrainingvideos.com/Zoom
Stannard, I am learning a lot from your videos. Huge thanks for that. There are two minor aesthetic problems, though: your profile picture is way too old (people age, we all must accept that) and the tiny inset with your talking image is just wrong. A full size you to the side would be a much better, more natural option.
Thanks a lot for all that information you share with us. It has been really useful. I´d like to aska question about the buttons. I don´t know why but I used to have the mut button and the unmute button, wel the unmute button has dissapeared, Do you know why?
Rebeca, I never noticed that. They might have turned it into one button that you simply turn on and off. I need to check. More free videos here www.teachertrainingvideos.com/Zoom
Dear Russell, many thanks for your training videos and appreciate your sharing. I would like to know how Zoom can help the trainers to issue the Certificates of Attendees.
Hello Ah Win. A Certificate of Attendees isn't something that Zoom does. However, in addition to getting an attendance sheet, you can also gather information from meeting attendees about themselves before they join the call. To collect this information, first you need to require Registration, an option found in the My Meetings tab of the Zoom web app. Then, you can set up a form that attendees must fill out before they can join the meeting.
@@ttvRussell Many thanks Russell. Your videos are helping us very much. We subscribe PRO only yesterday and learning these functions. Form means google forms or zoom form? 2nd question is that we are going to run the training from Monday to Friday for two weeks. I have been trying to prepare the invitation and I was not able to have the proper invitation. I really appreciate your sharing knowledge and expertise.
Thank you Russell. Another question: we (NGO) have PRO paid version and started the training this week. We mute all audios of participants and we would like to switch on both audio and video when the participants are discussing something. Please advice us and thanks.@@ttvRussell
Thank you for the video. Which version of Zoom are you using? Also after updating to version 5 I am no longer able to broadcast to the waiting room which I felt was useful.
Hi Alison. I used Camtasia to record my screen and edit the recording, by annotation. The yellow cursor is added during that process. th-cam.com/video/pCzEZi_gHC8/w-d-xo.html

Hi, Russell, a very helpful way of keeping our classes less distant, thanks, again!
Good to hear, Alberto.
Sending it to my students. Thanks a million.
You're welcome, Alicia.
Really useful video, Russell. Great to look at things from the students' side. Will share with colleagues and my classes.
Thanks for leaving a comment, Robert. Please do share. This video came out of the problems my students were having.

I have not noticed that about the audio, Arthur. I use Camtasia (video editing software) to record these videos and it works ok with that.
Thanks again Russell for another very informative video. They have become my lifeline !

Mark that might be the case. Zoom are making so many changes. I didn't notice that change though.
Russell Stannard (Teacher Training Videos) You should make a video on using Quizlet Live for individuals over Zoom.
You're my salvation, Russell!!!!! 😊
Thank you so much, Manuela.
hi russell how do you get the floating colour curser on the screen share
Joss, I use a product called Camtasia. It is one of the effects when making the video www.teachertrainingvideos.com/Camtasia_Training
So useful. But one thing I don't know is.... how do you get your nice yellow cursor??

The info about hyperlinks in the chat window is already out-dated. As of Zoom client version 5.0, links in chat are again clickable (hot).

Thanks for a great video and what is that tool you used for asking students about their breakfast? :) Thanks for your answer.
Answer Garden. It's a good collaborative tool. See here: th-cam.com/video/FPqUj_HUE9M/w-d-xo.html
How can my students share content from their iPad? They don't have the option of "screen" when they go to "share content".
Have you given them permission to screen share. You have to set that up or else they can't screen share.
