- So many great watches but so many brands also absent. The jury must have had a difficult time choosing between up-and-coming watchmakers and long-established brands. In the end they probably sought some balance and in any case, all nominees deserved to win.
So many of these pieces are thick and gaudy. I assume those ones are more for looking at like art, rather than wearing.
You can tell that by the price. This is Haute Horology, art on the wrist! It ain’t your average San Marin.
Great review, Uptick. Piaget has my vote. I heard Rolex won a prize too, but the watch wasn’t available

This video is straight-up fire! You're spitting some real knowledge, and I'm all for it. You're a real scholar, and you're doing a great job of making complex concepts accessible to the masses. Bovet is one of the most beautiful watches you've shown.
Tonight I went to a local watch fair where there was a Laurent Ferrier Sport Auto in solid gold. It was an absolute beast! It was giant and very heavy. In person it is too much. But the Turb on the back was amazing. I bet it was 350 grams. Price was $240,000 US. But I agree with you, it is not something I would want. The stars of the show were the Breguets. All of them are truly incredible!
I think you mean Bovet which is a brand that makes current Breguet look entry-level :-)
@@UptickWatchReviews so the watch fair I went to did not have any Bovet. But my favorite watches at the show I went to were the Breguet and JLC.

Bonjour et merci pour cette vidéo. Moi qui trouvais que depuis quelques années, ce Grand Prix était sensiblement moins intéressant que précédemment, ce palmarès 2023 me réconcilie quelque peu avec le GPHG. Même si on retrouve, encore une fois, une AP et une Tudor, ainsi qu'une marque ayant au moins 2 prix (Piaget cette année), les victoires de modèles présentés par Petterman Bedat, Ferdinand Berthout, Christopher Ward et, surtout, Simon Brette et Bovet 1882 font vraiment plaisir.
