    For Muslims the main ingredient to look for is gelatine or gelatine based other products as pork is strictly forbidden but Other Fish / milk / egg based ingredients can be easily used also palm is not a problem as well thank you so much

    Thank you for the video, Belinda. Just wanted to mention that formulating with ethanol is actually completely fine in halal preparations, it’s only the excipients derived from pigs that would be a problem :)

    Thanks for the interesting video formulation is really becoming harder these days and one feels stuck how to get the same performance with less performant (natural ) ingredients and there is differences between organisms of certification for instance some accept phenoxyethanol others not

    • @theinstituteofpersonalcare6401
      @theinstituteofpersonalcare6401  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When looking to get certified, look for a certifier that understands the needs of cosmetic products rather than just foods - cosmetics have specific formulating needs that food rules don't allow for. We'll see some consistency given time as this is a fast growing area of the industry.

    From what I know as long as alcohol in not ingested its ok to be used on the skin when it comes to halal products.

      There is controversy over this one so I mention it in case people specifically want to avoid ethanol e.g in mouthwash. There is significant confusion over 'cetearyl alcohol' (and similar 'alcohol' INCI names) which is why I clarified it in this video. Happy formulating.

    If I'm only using MCT oil and maple leaves, that would be vegan right?

    • @theinstituteofpersonalcare6401
      @theinstituteofpersonalcare6401  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes - but how did you get the extract from maple leaves, and what is the final application? Is there ethanol present? Please consider these issues also. You can learn how to check formulas for compliance (ingredients, labels and claims) with our Certificate in Cosmetic Regulatory Essentials or learn to check ingredient compliance with any of our Advanced or Diploma formulation programs.

    May I ask why Dead Sea salt isn’t allowed to be used in Halal products? Is it because it manufactured in Israel ?!
