I remember a meme about how vtubers will just wait until they have a very expensive model and then realized that they don't like to stream. It's one of the things that said "hey it is okay to stream without a model" just don't use the tag.
it doesn't have to be all one thing or the other, either. you can get a model for as little as US $25 on Booth. commercial rights and everything. only thing is it's generic with mix-and-match outfits and non-exclusive so you'd have "clones" out there but if it's just to dip your toes in and see if you enjoy it...
Some interesting advice here. I have nt been able to find a thing outside of streaming, and I am limited to just a PNG model, so not very active outside of Twitch. After streaming over a year now and deciding I do like it, I have made the jump to getting a model, and I have been thinking about what I might do outside of streams with the model. Its a slow grind, but I am having fun with it.
I started watching Inksie because I like all the Shorts she has made, they are simply funny, she does stream as well. But her short are fast and furious with a twist, Ha Ha Ha.
It also helps if you're not actively harassing and bother others on twitter while your name says "pre-debut" People will wait for you ro do your first stream and remind you of that and instantly you're off on the wrong foot You could have the most magical and insane fully animated debut but if you were a toxic vtweeter you're just a target And I can't say I have any sympathy for you if that's your existence on social media, you get what you give
She is so based. Like I do not have any link to my socials on my YT and I only upload speedpaints for now and some of them randomly get like decent views (100+, one got like 600, which is crazy since I do nothing for it), Streaming is a lot more risky and more vulnerable bc talking for hours to no one feels so discouraging. So first do short content about themes that you are into to get people to you and then if you feel like it start streaming.
I'm a new(-ish) VTer but the reason I stream instead of scripting shorts and stuff is just... I'm stupid, and have a lack of confidence and friends sooo I can't exactly do that xD
Regarding metas, like most things with a "meta game" they are only effective in the hands of professionals and veterans. Look at say LOL as an example, how many scrubs like ruining games by trying to do high tech plays that are considered meta by top lvl. Like with content creation, you should not be chasing metas until you are at a point of mastery and can understand why things are meta.
Great advice, not the issue however. I'm a Canadian of disability, my barrier to entry is money and law. For law, my sole source of income is the Ontario Disability Support Program, which pays too little a benefit and instantly knee-caps earnable income. I can't risk earning social media money without having the rug pulled out from under my feet, it is an actual risk to me. As for money, this means I can not afford a computer, internet, streaming equipment and programs, nor to move out of my father's basement. I already have my platform content 100% planned-out, I just can't self-employ because of the law.
As a Canadian also, it baffles me how as soon as you're disabled, people don't think you can sustain yourself. Just because you can earn money doesn't mean that you don't need the accommodations and help that's given to you
She’s so real for this.

Making videos-shorts before streaming imo sounds like good advice

Thank you for the tip on posting! I'm going to stop retweeting as much without at least trying to post myself
good advice
Retweets are for ordinary users; for VTubers the rules totally change.

Right. Fundamentals first.
This advice is really great.
