I have been quiet for too long Don’t Forget Where You Belong is one of their best written 1D songs and the chorus makes absolute sense, people just take the context out of it. Niall wrote the song about himself being on tour with one direction. Midnight Memories was the album they wrote while being on tour, so he wrote the song about not being able to go home to Ireland for so long. The thing people are missing is the song was written to be played live. And every time they played it, it was the part of the concert when Niall talked. I remember at my show at Melbourne he talked about being from his small town in Ireland and how he was on the other side of the world, living his dream. And how grateful he was for the band and fans. And that’s what the chorus is about. When it goes “if you ever feel alone, don’t. You are never on your own and the proof is in this song” that’s the line everyone sings, so it’s Niall saying don’t feel alone because he had all the fans and band around him. And the proof is in this song he is writing for one direction.
