This was absolutely delightful. Not sure what part I liked best. Your whimsical ideas and videography, the look into historic petticoats or the movement into the modern day!. I used to wear an inherited antique petticoat to highschool in the late 1970s. This has prompted me to pull it out and use it as a starting point for making an overskirt.
Cute! I love a multi-tasking garment. Well, multi-taskers in general. It's fascinating that the linen can be naturally green...I learned something new! Also, hello, leftie! 😍 Brings me so much joy when I see other left-handed makers. We're more common than everyone thinks...
Yes! It is one of my favourite facts now. 😊 And hooray for another fellow leftie! I would be so useless if my left arm went out of commission for whatever reason. I’m not even a little bit ambidextrous. 😂
@@KristineVike Oh no! 🤣 I'm lucky in that respect...I used to get bored in school and taught myself how to write semi-legibly. Have decent control, but flat out refuse to use it, on principle. 😈
Your cinematography, sewing skill, and narration are so excellent. I’m so glad to have found this channel. Hoping for more people to come and appreciate your artistry! Kudos!
Wow your channel is so well done, i'm sure you will gain many subscribers. I am going to get into sewing, and I'm excited to one day make similar clothes as you (although i'll need years of practice first i'm sure)
What a beautiful video! Thank you so much for sharing it. Your petticoat came out amazing and it was so sweet to see your cat hanging out with you :‘) Oh and also I really really appreciate the subtitles, they help me so much.
What a lovely video, for soo many reasons ... so peaceful and soothing and then the beauty of the fabrics, and that glorious sewing machine ! Your hand stitching is beautifully done. Everything is so authentic and soo thoughtfully done. Thankyou for sharing your incredible talent. And that petticoat is beautiful !
@@KristineVike there actually are! They make the absolute tiniest pintucks (basically two rows of stitching with a little bump in the middle), I haven’t tried them yet but they look like great fun
I would have failed in older times as I hate buttons don’t know what it is but my one of my sisters in the same would rather put in a zip any day ,I don’t even like to handle buttons they feel horrible to me. In saying that love your skirt /petticoat
Thank you! The sewing thread for my machine is Scanfil organic cotton, which seems to be relatively easily accessible around Europe. Not sure what is available if you are US-based though. The silk thread I am gathering and sewing buttonholes with came from an Etsy shop called YARNITALY and was my first order from them. The thread is lovely, though the ply splits easily it doesn’t affect the strength. You could totally knit silk stockings with it too!
Adding a tuck, again a brilliant solution !!
This video helped me dare to figure out some of the small feet that my old machine had. So am so happy you made it!! 🥰

Aw, thank you! It is totally teachable! 🥰
Your supurrrrrrvisor is adorable!!

Beautifully done work and edited video! Love from Toronto

Awww, thank you! You can totally do it! Just give it a go and improve as you learn. It has worked well enough for me so far. :D

Thank you! I do love my sewing machine friend! 🥰
that fabric is so cool! also after seeing the hemming foot magic I am RUNNING to the internet to get my own. technology is a miracle!
I know! And it does such neat work too! I wonder if there’s one for pintucks as well. 😂

Que linda roupa
The petticoat turned out really well! And the fabric is so lovely 💚
Thank you! I really wanted to make something I’d want to use a lot with it. 😊
@@KristineVike the petticoat is perfect for the fabric! And I'm glad that the hemming foot worked out now!
I love your alteration via tuck! Will keep that in mind for future sewing projects as I have a tendency to make petticoats a bit too long
Haha, yeah! I still overcompensate when I cut and make my clothes too large. Making it a feature with adjustability just makes sense. 😅
Lovely pettycoat! It suits you very well 💚 And your cat sitting on fabric while sewing is so typical 😂😂 they just wanna be included in the fun ;)
Aw, thank you! And yes. She always wants to be wherever the most interesting stuff is happening! 😂
Beautiful my kindred spirit. really enjoyed your video
Thank you. 😊

You have a very nice voce)
Oooo lovely 😍
Where did you find organic 🧵 thread ?
I buy mine online. It’s from the brand Scanfil and quite a few places stock them. :)
