To summarize the video, it explains that you should at the very least have a mix of both meta and comfort pick heroes, for me for example, after playing this game for over 6 yrs, there are vast changes to my comfort picks and vast majority of meta heroes, but as of now i have 4 heroes that i love playing which are fighters, 2 junglers and 2 exp laners. Each have a common theme of being able to stand on their own and dont rely too much on their team but gives extra boost when do. Ruby (pretty obvious, but strong guard and teamfight capabilities), Martis ( -ez savage- strong snowball jungler), Leomord (same like martis but has superb mobility and better late game capabilities), Yu Zhong (almost like Ruby but is superior in 1v1s, ganking and flanking). 2 of them meta (Yz and Martis), while 2 others of mine are a little underrated (Ruby and Leo), but even with so each of them can be strong on multiple different situations and which they fit best. I use martis over leomord if the enemy has a frickton of cc heroes so i dont have to worry about that, Yu Zhong over ruby if i believe its going to be a hard match and my team is a little uncoordinated, yu zhong can fight better on his own compared to ruby and more. Just giving my example but i practically have all heroes unlocked and know almost every little nook and cranny of each hero’s skills, how they work, their strengths and weaknesses after playing for so long. But ultimately in the end, no matter how good you are at any hero and how much knowledge you’ve gained over the course of your time playing, the game is still team-based, and whoever has the better team synergy ultimately decides the victor.
Team will always be the key. As a casual player of 5 years and watches betosky's videos, I'm decent almost all heroes and all roles except ofc, Gusion, Fanny and high mobility heroes. I tried some many methods: trying meta picks, comfort picks, Split Push, Counter Ganks and so much more. But in the end, one mistake, one wipe out, then it's over. As an introvert, and I don't have much friends who are actually good and decent in game, I decided to stop playing the game and back to life. Got glasses, enough getting cancer from toxic teammates, headaches from too much focusing on, had bad sleep cycle. For those who actually wants to rank up, u need a friend to play and remember, one mistake in late game, one wipe out can decide your match's fate.
I hate how my job description is basically "survive until the other side does a blunder" especially because I myself am not THAT good and still prone of doing a blunder myself. And if the enemy is anything like me (which at least one of them must be competent) that means THEY get to win because that one blunder is what actually counts

I dont think ruby is underrated anymore, at least where I'm from. In our server, every game ruby is either prio pick or ban and for the love of all spell vamp me and everyone I know cant stop seeing her dominate all the games she is in.
I just checked the 10 heroes that Nico mentioned before that need revamp the most. These are their current situations: 1. Balmond rise and sudden fall, even Guinevere still dominating Meta after a "NERF". 2. Aurora revamped and she is top banned. 3. Mathilda is still powerful. 4. Phoveus will get a revamp, but not now. If he waits a few more months, he will be able to break the record of how long it took Faramis to get a new skin. 5. Gord is awesome actually. (I know Nico hates him:) 6. Barats is better than before, he can benefit from War Axe and Brute Force Breastplate too. 7. Wanwan Meta again................ 8. Nana is joining Meta now, meanwhile, Silvanna's changes are still no. 9. Tigreal is one of the best tanks now! 10. Vexana's problems are fixed, and she is better than before now.

Dude but isn't Gord just food for Assassins cuz Ling, Haya , Lance , Benedetta , Amon , Fanny , etc . can just dodge all his skills and just one shot or immune or dance around him . Maybe Amon can't cuz he gets invisible but doesn't really have like a dash or tp skill .

I really struggle with this, I know meta heroes are just better but I personally just don’t do well with most of them. It’s most likely a skill issue but I’ll find with mid lane for example I’ll do much better with zhask than I would with someone like lunox
Master 3 heroes for every position. Comfort picks are really great only if you are not countered and fits perfectly the draft. I mastered Hayabusa and played with and against any possible line up and match ups. I therefore conclude, that he is the jack of all trades when it comes to assassin heroes. He is best to be picked last when there is no point and click cc heroes. And feast on immobile squishy heroes. Tanky line ups with healers is his nightmare. When that line up comes. You need to split push and your team should only stall the enemies and not fully engage in a team fight. You need a perfect macro plays as well as your team, which is very rare in solo queue. Most solo queue players just wanted to engage in a 5v5 fights even they have no chance at winning at all. It's better to adjust and pick the best hero if you want to win.
I am very much with nico on comfort player, I play as Ruby recently completed 1000+ matches with her with 50 winrate(yeah I know I suck) she is my main pick in every season, unless she is not nerfed than Badang and then Nana,, I try other heroes as well but they just suit me, I dunno why, tried wanwan cause of nico I suck, gave another chance with Badang cause of nico and boom he is good with me with 68 matches and 82 winrate(yeah I know),,, but if my heroes are in meta,, damn I am too good then ngl Edit:- nico rost the player like me after 16:50,, okay i m gonna try more heroes,(yes i m crying)
Playing with common sense and tranquil is the real way to play. If you know you can't do a proper combo with gusion, then don't play gusion. If you really want to, then don't try to pull that tough combo off, you won't be able to. Stick to easy combos, and just win the game by helping the team with objectives, jungle, gold and by not dying. Then have a little practice. Then, know about the skills. If you can do all these, you are all good.
I'm that kind of person who would try to master one of the meta heroes or even a strong one and using it as a comfort pick, but sometimes, comfort pick all the way! 16:41 As soon as I type this, this part pops up, lol
Just like in any other games. There will always be a "technically" at an advantage. For example in CSGO, you can one tap an enemy with even a pistol. But a pistol is inferior to a rifle "technically", so it really is up on the situation and skill of the player to maximize any weapon.
In my opinion there are two types of meta heroes. Those that are straight up broken and disgusting like Nolan that can for the most part solo and other meta heroes that relies on teamwork and synergy. And let's be real, most people complaining about winning in a meta hero just doesn't play enough. For example I find myself to get used to a hero and it's playstyle around the 150 to 200 matches. Practice makes perfect

I'm a boy but most of my mains are female heroes (it's not like I simp for 'em). So you can play any hero you like. Because if you enjoy playing it you will play better. Like I used to play Mathilda before her buffs and ult rewamp and lost sometimes (it was hard) but continued just because I like her skills and design.
I think playing confort heroes is better, if you actually know how to play them. For example, when I started playing, Minotaur still had the rage bar and wasn't considered meta. But I thought he was cool, so he became my main, and with time I became pretty good with him, even though he wasn't meta at all, and won many games. Now, after they removed his rage bar, he is meta and everyone wants to pick him, but most players in my team who use him suck. Experience is the most important part of playing a hero. I'd rather have a good Aldog who knows his stuff than a noob Joy who keeps feeding the enemies and throws the game.
As an experienced alucard player, I'd say go with what suits you best, experience is always the best teacher, no matter the struggle there's always a way to overcome such obstacles by means of adjusting to what you have right now
I prefer comfort picks to.I play kadita since the start of my season and im still playing her even when shes not meta and i get 60+percent winrate with her nowadays.With high rankings as well
I have no problem with people who go with they're comf picks in casual just dont do this in ranked shit in laning like sometimes they don't even care about roles they just want to be mm or jung no matter if we lose😐
I'm stuck on legend 1 due to the fact that I play mages as a priority. Very often I have to give up this role to someone who chose the middle lane, and in the end I have to take a roamer or a fighter (I don’t like playing as fighters)
I tend to be drawn to the harder difficulty hero’s like Benedetta, Lancelot,Fanny etc. because 1 I like them and 2 I just like to challenge myself and take pride in getting good with them. I’m just lucky they tend to be meta a lot. 😂
I agree with the matches experience and that if you pick your comfort hero, you will have more experience. But you also got to learn other roles, and play them in order to be a better player. I think this applies to all heroes, not just meta or comfort. I never play mm, but I know how to play Moskov to a level where we will have an advantage. I usually play fighter or jungler. This helped me to understand the mm role when I played it. So now I am nice to mm players who die to ganks. It’s all about learning which heroes in every role are good for you.
The thing is as long as team picks hero they can play and its half decent hero its good problem in solo que is some people pick hero they clearly cannot play for example in last match one guy picked ling and feeded whole match or they pick trash hero like yi shin shin which requires alot of farming to be effective maybe yi shin is not that bad but i have bias coz anytime i seen somone pick yi shin they feeded whole match and then say i m late game hero but also feeded late game
People arguing Gord being the best mage cannot be above Mythic. Maybe even lower. Any assassin rejoice and take out their cold beers from the fridge when enemy picks Gord. Literally a turtle, like eudo,Vex etc
After every patch, testing meta heroes are literally the most important thing for me, that's like one of the main factor to have victory relentlessly in public matches
Meta is sadly true and is in all games not just ML. Put it this way, there will always be a character that is OP and then get nerf, what is the result? The other characters replace the nerf-ed character, and there will always be 1 or 2 that standout, which simply means they are better and stronger into this version after nerf. I was old enough to remember back in the days on how Starcraft/Warcraft/Diablo characters get nerf, back then it was perfect but nowaday even DotA itself just does all of a bad job. Instead of focusing reducing damage/stats it often come down to rework or cool down or manacost, if you look at DotA/LoL history, often time and time again a particular character will get nerf and buff back again, all due to incompetence understanding of history of game patches. If there is something we can learn, it will always be the history. Edit : as I continue to watch the video, a meta is a character that can play in any situation, perfect way to put it, simply enough, all the stronger one are nerfed and the one meta right now will always have the higest stats (everything from dps to performance) compare to the other un-nerf.
i mean u have to learn every hero eventually to play against or with them. So obviously u can pick ur comfort hero when the time is right, but also try to pick meta heroes as well. example: ur team has a tank main that can set properly, then nana or gord would work here. But let's say there's no one like that and is just that annoying damage chou player, then try to compensate by picking novaria or something that is both comfortable for u to play and meta enough to set up for the chou to oneshot their backline. besides, it ain't hard to play all heroes, i have a 65% wr in ranked playing around 40 heroes each season, and i'll admit im a casual player. So if i can do it, i dont see how others cannot

I would do the same if I am your enemy - just because I know someone in my team is stupid enough to feed Yin. Especially in solo queue where the stupid allies are everywhere. It's actually easy to cancel out Yin's ultimate, but you can't trust people in solo queue.
@n317 Fair enough lol, people make solo que out to be so much harder than it is, I have an easier time climbing than in duo or trio games. Also, you're right with saying it's easy to cancel as all you need is a form of cc (not slow) to stop it hence why good Yin players camp a lot more as to either catch people off guard or wait for the right opportunity to go in as yin is a fighter/assassin who is supposed to be played more like an assassin than a fighter.
Yo I relate to this. I practiced Wanwan this season and pretty much became comfortable with her all the way to mythic. All of a sudden she gets an additional nerf and it's just impossible to win with her now. Guess it's time to go back to Clint 😕
I always have this mindset. If you can't beat the meta, join the meta. Out of all meta heroes, some are easy like balmond or angela. Doesn't need much effort to master them. But if I can counter the meta hero with my comfort hero, I would choose my comfort hero.
Bro's back in the groove again? With regards to picking Meta or comfort heroes, I don't really have a strong opinion on it. I'm more of a casual soloq player so my picks are all over the place ever season. Heck, I started playing in Season 1 and my hero with the highest games played didn't even reach 250. The next hero isn't even half that. So yeah.
To me, in MOBA games like MLBB, the heroes only takes up at most 50% of the META. The other 50% really boils down to how you play the hero. For the heroes "at the top of the META", you usually only need to learn their skillset and how they work to be good at them because half of their strength altready lies in their kit. However, in the case of the "lower tier heroes", you need to actually know when to use said hero and who will be your enemies, and if you still pick them despite the situation not being in favor of them, you actually need to be careful because one small mistake and you'll be labelled as a "feeder" and "troll", thus making the skills of the player at least 75% of the strength of the hero. Ofc this assumes ranked matches. In other content, you can just be like "rAnDoM bUlL$#@T gO!!1!" and shat all over your teammates and enemies.
To actually summarize Play heroes that are in the meta with similar playstlye. That include: sustain fighters tanks and tank junglers, damage fighters and damage junglers, lane push fighters and marksmen, mages and marksmen.
I play julian and ruby so my playstyle is heavily regen and sustain based since i like to use julian with lifesteal. Cici is fun for me but im not good with how long it takes to regen hp since im used to just hitting a wave of minions and getting to full hp After about 300 matches i could begin to understand basic rotations and who i could fight against easily, what items to buy/watch out for and combos. For context i started playing julian upon his release (Then he got nerfed 3 patches in a row) and continued to play him regardless because i'd played him so much it'd become habit to me.
For me I play anti-meta heroes (Heroes that are hard counters to meta). I also learn about the meta specifically to counter them. Since assassins like Fanny are strong, I'd pick someone like saber to be a menace. For me, I'd say meta heroes for each player are unique

I like to try and learn different heroes, but also if im forced to play a role that I don’t have many heroes I like using in that role, I’ll use a comfort pick because at least I have a chance But if it’s a role I’m finding multiple heroes I enjoy using, I’ll just pick depending on my mood, really lol But I am more of a casual player, for the record. I know that doesn’t really make sense since I’m watching videos for people who aren’t casual but that’s because I like to learn nonetheless

Literally why my friends thinks my pre-revamp Minsitthar godlike despite he is a freaking bottom tier Fighter back then, thats because i discovered many tricks and techs that massively increase his potency in teamfights and making him still viable vs non-dash heavy lineup. Kinda sucks Ult + Flicker tech doesnt work pre revamp and only works post revamp, but hey Minsitthar now is a solid mid tier, rather than ofc bottom tier (also why he is soo potent back then is because literally NOONE use him and have little to no experience fighting him, the perks of maining bottom tier folks LMAO)

I started with kimmy harith when they were 1st released and i rarely use them now,so meta does play a factor but i think we should concentrate more on macro rather than mechanics only and throwing the game coz of not knowing what to do or where to go at those crucial times

Personally thamuz is my type of hero to use because he is a solid fighter he can heal,he's good in early game,he's good in late game,he can easily go in a 1v5,he can defeat any fighter in a 1v1(with the right build

As a Hanabi main I slap meta mm all the time and Iv only played like 35 games with Hanabi, she just feels so comfortable, and my meta hero that I was already a main with is guinevere, it was hilarious people started fearing me cuz I’d pick her, tho I wasn’t happy with her being picked of banned a lot tho but yeah I play both comfort and meta so I’m happy

I play pretty much every hero easily without any focus on this game. No idea when it become that easy only thing that can stop me is something like fanny or ling cuz in the heat if the battle my phone is overheating too and i have huge overheating message in the middle of the screen. Champions that i dont like to play are champions like zhask, gord, martis with this so fkn kong animations that just make me wanna quit :/

Guin used to my comfort pick but with a small buff. She is now in a ban section.
Right. I really loved her when I used to use the petrify combo . With her but now her s2 have that instant stun which put her to to ban list 😢

I really struggle with this, I know meta heroes are just better but I personally just don’t do well with most of them. It’s most likely a skill issue but I’ll find with mid lane for example I’ll do much better with zhask than I would with someone like lunox

Master 3 heroes for every position. Comfort picks are really great only if you are not countered and fits perfectly the draft. I mastered Hayabusa and played with and against any possible line up and match ups. I therefore conclude, that he is the jack of all trades when it comes to assassin heroes. He is best to be picked last when there is no point and click cc heroes. And feast on immobile squishy heroes. Tanky line ups with healers is his nightmare. When that line up comes. You need to split push and your team should only stall the enemies and not fully engage in a team fight. You need a perfect macro plays as well as your team, which is very rare in solo queue. Most solo queue players just wanted to engage in a 5v5 fights even they have no chance at winning at all. It's better to adjust and pick the best hero if you want to win.
I am very much with nico on comfort player, I play as Ruby recently completed 1000+ matches with her with 50 winrate(yeah I know I suck) she is my main pick in every season, unless she is not nerfed than Badang and then Nana,, I try other heroes as well but they just suit me, I dunno why, tried wanwan cause of nico I suck, gave another chance with Badang cause of nico and boom he is good with me with 68 matches and 82 winrate(yeah I know),,, but if my heroes are in meta,, damn I am too good then ngl

Playing with common sense and tranquil is the real way to play. If you know you can't do a proper combo with gusion, then don't play gusion. If you really want to, then don't try to pull that tough combo off, you won't be able to. Stick to easy combos, and just win the game by helping the team with objectives, jungle, gold and by not dying. Then have a little practice. Then, know about the skills. If you can do all these, you are all good.
I'm that kind of person who would try to master one of the meta heroes or even a strong one and using it as a comfort pick, but sometimes, comfort pick all the way!

Just like in any other games. There will always be a "technically" at an advantage.
For example in CSGO, you can one tap an enemy with even a pistol. But a pistol is inferior to a rifle "technically", so it really is up on the situation and skill of the player to maximize any weapon.
In my opinion there are two types of meta heroes. Those that are straight up broken and disgusting like Nolan that can for the most part solo and other meta heroes that relies on teamwork and synergy. And let's be real, most people complaining about winning in a meta hero just doesn't play enough. For example I find myself to get used to a hero and it's playstyle around the 150 to 200 matches. Practice makes perfect

I'm a boy but most of my mains are female heroes (it's not like I simp for 'em). So you can play any hero you like. Because if you enjoy playing it you will play better. Like I used to play Mathilda before her buffs and ult rewamp and lost sometimes (it was hard) but continued just because I like her skills and design.

I think playing confort heroes is better, if you actually know how to play them.
For example, when I started playing, Minotaur still had the rage bar and wasn't considered meta. But I thought he was cool, so he became my main, and with time I became pretty good with him, even though he wasn't meta at all, and won many games.
Now, after they removed his rage bar, he is meta and everyone wants to pick him, but most players in my team who use him suck.
Experience is the most important part of playing a hero. I'd rather have a good Aldog who knows his stuff than a noob Joy who keeps feeding the enemies and throws the game.

I'm stuck on legend 1 due to the fact that I play mages as a priority. Very often I have to give up this role to someone who chose the middle lane, and in the end I have to take a roamer or a fighter (I don’t like playing as fighters)

I agree with the matches experience and that if you pick your comfort hero, you will have more experience. But you also got to learn other roles, and play them in order to be a better player. I think this applies to all heroes, not just meta or comfort. I never play mm, but I know how to play Moskov to a level where we will have an advantage. I usually play fighter or jungler. This helped me to understand the mm role when I played it. So now I am nice to mm players who die to ganks. It’s all about learning which heroes in every role are good for you.
The thing is as long as team picks hero they can play and its half decent hero its good problem in solo que is some people pick hero they clearly cannot play for example in last match one guy picked ling and feeded whole match or they pick trash hero like yi shin shin which requires alot of farming to be effective maybe yi shin is not that bad but i have bias coz anytime i seen somone pick yi shin they feeded whole match and then say i m late game hero but also feeded late game

After every patch, testing meta heroes are literally the most important thing for me, that's like one of the main factor to have victory relentlessly in public matches
Meta is sadly true and is in all games not just ML. Put it this way, there will always be a character that is OP and then get nerf, what is the result? The other characters replace the nerf-ed character, and there will always be 1 or 2 that standout, which simply means they are better and stronger into this version after nerf. I was old enough to remember back in the days on how Starcraft/Warcraft/Diablo characters get nerf, back then it was perfect but nowaday even DotA itself just does all of a bad job. Instead of focusing reducing damage/stats it often come down to rework or cool down or manacost, if you look at DotA/LoL history, often time and time again a particular character will get nerf and buff back again, all due to incompetence understanding of history of game patches. If there is something we can learn, it will always be the history.
Edit : as I continue to watch the video, a meta is a character that can play in any situation, perfect way to put it, simply enough, all the stronger one are nerfed and the one meta right now will always have the higest stats (everything from dps to performance) compare to the other un-nerf.

i mean u have to learn every hero eventually to play against or with them. So obviously u can pick ur comfort hero when the time is right, but also try to pick meta heroes as well. example: ur team has a tank main that can set properly, then nana or gord would work here. But let's say there's no one like that and is just that annoying damage chou player, then try to compensate by picking novaria or something that is both comfortable for u to play and meta enough to set up for the chou to oneshot their backline. besides, it ain't hard to play all heroes, i have a 65% wr in ranked playing around 40 heroes each season, and i'll admit im a casual player. So if i can do it, i dont see how others cannot

I would do the same if I am your enemy - just because I know someone in my team is stupid enough to feed Yin. Especially in solo queue where the stupid allies are everywhere.
It's actually easy to cancel out Yin's ultimate, but you can't trust people in solo queue.
I love to pick yin if enemy has supports like estes, diggie, faramis. Especially if the enemies has no cc's and escape skills.

Also, you're right with saying it's easy to cancel as all you need is a form of cc (not slow) to stop it hence why good Yin players camp a lot more as to either catch people off guard or wait for the right opportunity to go in as yin is a fighter/assassin who is supposed to be played more like an assassin than a fighter.

With regards to picking Meta or comfort heroes, I don't really have a strong opinion on it. I'm more of a casual soloq player so my picks are all over the place ever season. Heck, I started playing in Season 1 and my hero with the highest games played didn't even reach 250. The next hero isn't even half that. So yeah.

To me, in MOBA games like MLBB, the heroes only takes up at most 50% of the META. The other 50% really boils down to how you play the hero.
For the heroes "at the top of the META", you usually only need to learn their skillset and how they work to be good at them because half of their strength altready lies in their kit. However, in the case of the "lower tier heroes", you need to actually know when to use said hero and who will be your enemies, and if you still pick them despite the situation not being in favor of them, you actually need to be careful because one small mistake and you'll be labelled as a "feeder" and "troll", thus making the skills of the player at least 75% of the strength of the hero.
Ofc this assumes ranked matches. In other content, you can just be like "rAnDoM bUlL$#@T gO!!1!" and shat all over your teammates and enemies.
To actually summarize
Play heroes that are in the meta with similar playstlye.
That include: sustain fighters tanks and tank junglers, damage fighters and damage junglers, lane push fighters and marksmen, mages and marksmen.
I play julian and ruby so my playstyle is heavily regen and sustain based since i like to use julian with lifesteal. Cici is fun for me but im not good with how long it takes to regen hp since im used to just hitting a wave of minions and getting to full hp
After about 300 matches i could begin to understand basic rotations and who i could fight against easily, what items to buy/watch out for and combos.
For context i started playing julian upon his release (Then he got nerfed 3 patches in a row) and continued to play him regardless because i'd played him so much it'd become habit to me.

For me I play anti-meta heroes (Heroes that are hard counters to meta). I also learn about the meta specifically to counter them. Since assassins like Fanny are strong, I'd pick someone like saber to be a menace. For me, I'd say meta heroes for each player are unique
It depends! I like to try and learn different heroes, but also if im forced to play a role that I don’t have many heroes I like using in that role, I’ll use a comfort pick because at least I have a chance
But if it’s a role I’m finding multiple heroes I enjoy using, I’ll just pick depending on my mood, really lol

Literally why my friends thinks my pre-revamp Minsitthar godlike despite he is a freaking bottom tier Fighter back then, thats because i discovered many tricks and techs that massively increase his potency in teamfights and making him still viable vs non-dash heavy lineup.
Kinda sucks Ult + Flicker tech doesnt work pre revamp and only works post revamp, but hey Minsitthar now is a solid mid tier, rather than ofc bottom tier (also why he is soo potent back then is because literally NOONE use him and have little to no experience fighting him, the perks of maining bottom tier folks LMAO)
