    I think you should make a defense option or when troops are defending a trench, they mount their guns on the side of the trench facing the enemy. Maybe it could increase their accuracy and fire rate, and also give rushing an advantage if the enemy has just taken a trench. It could automatically put them on defense mode after like 5-10 seconds without advancing. It would also look better for when there are a lot of units because instead of being all clumped up, they have a clear line to more accurately see how many troops you have.

    Suggestions:
    1: you cant see the enemy in a foggy map (fog of war)
    2: an upgrade that let the riflemen throw grenades
    3: Wind Can Affect Gas

    I think troops should have upgrade paths - maybe make the flamethrower a shotgun upgrade (other options could be tommy guns)? You could also have snipers upgrading to grenade throwers or regular troops upgrading to bayonets. this would give more use to medals and make it more worthwhile to use the stars -> medals trade.

      I like the idea of upgrade paths, that's a good one.
      Maybe have an upgrade path of the machine gunner that results in an armored machine gunner akin of the sentry from bf1?

      @@octaveg8056 thanks. This game is such a great opportunity to show some of the rarer weapons and machines of ww1 and to be the greatest trench defense game.
      I'm just hoping for too much I think but I'd love to see a bunch of different units, upgrades and maybe a deck system, where you can bring 4 infantry, 2 tanks and 2 artillery type weapons.

    My suggestion: faction lock certain units. This would make a distinct difference between the factions. You could have something like a 10% increase in recruitment speed for the US, and a 10% increase to health for the Japanese, to reflect their “death is better than surrender” idea.

      that would greatly depend since if we want this to be accurate... Japan during WW1 only sent ships to help with the war but never sent their own soldiers. Plus what timeline should it be in? After WW1 entire nations were destroyed, off the map, etc...

      it's a great idea but the Japanese fought primarily in the naval war which was heavily insignificant. their land engagements were marine operations making them not really worthy of a spot until really late stages.

    I think a little minor addition for the craters would be nice. Where if your units walked over them it would give them a higher chance of surviving shots. Also man your editing skills have improved significantly from the past year baron. Keep it up!

    Suggestion:
    Baron I think the more units that you put in the game there should be a scroll wheel. Because if you're adding 10 units and 10 abilities it will look too crowded and clustered, a scroll wheel will be good. Which it should show 5 units and if you want to find the six, you have to scroll to the side. Makes it a lot more easier.

    Two suggestions, Baron.
    A flare mortar but as a unlock able. It will illuminate the sky in the chosen location and increasing the accuracy in that illuminated area.
    The option to make tanks stop behind or in front of trenches to block damage and do early strikes or to support a line.

    I think planes should be added to the game. I think it would make battles more interesting. A second addition that could make the game more interesting is that if the British had a 5% stat buff for tanks and the Germans have a 5% stat buff for flamethrowers. Another suggestion for the game is to be able to see the health of any unit if you click on it .A final suggestion to make the game better is for the research tree to be able to give buffs for units such as more accuracy for artillery and more damage for infantry.

    An idea would be to have different faction effects, like having Germany have cheaper flame throwers or Britton having faster artillery reload. Having faction specific units would also add more to think about when choosing.

    Suggestion: Maybe the craters should stay for the entire game, and they slow down or give fortification to soldiers going over the area. As soldiers in no man's land would use it as cover

    Suggestion: you should make the flamethrowers have a chance of exploding on death, and damaging the stuff around it.
    Another suggestion is to add more country's then give them there own special unit.

    What about being able to upgrade like half the area between one trench to another? Like the first upgrade could make the ground rougher so infantry are slowed as they advance, the second upgrade could add barbed wire to slowly damage enemies in that area, and the third could add those metal X’s to slow down vehicles or maybe even block them completely till they take the trench

    I think in order to balance out the flamethrowers, when ever they die a small explosion should go off from their gas tank to deal a very small amount of damage to the troops around them. This could be a good way to keep people from spamming them.

      The Gas tanks if hit wouldn’t ever actually explode if they were shot. They would probably just leak out the gas in them. It’s still actually impossible to blow up a gas tank with lead bullets.

    1. A fast melee unit:
    • runs at the enemy
    • doesn't stop in trenches
    • does a large amount of damage
    • very vulnerable to fire and explosives
    2. A suicide bomber/kamikaze:
    • runs at the enemy
    • doesn't stop in trenches
    • does a large amount of splash damage
    • vulnerable to fire and explosives
    • will target machine guns if machine guns are present

    suggestion: regarding new units a field artiliery piece with AOE damage could act as a counter to machine gunners in the early game and an AT variant could slow and/or damage tanks in the late game

    some ideas:
    1. craters are 3D into the ground
    2. troops slow down when going over or through the crates
    3. the longer the troops stay in the trench the slower their movement is due to trench foot
    4. I think you should have a research tree in the menu so that in all you games you get buffs
    5. you could add bunkers in the map that are like the fortified trenches

    Suggestion: Custom Maps. You should add a button to the main menu, where you could pick between 3 base maps (no water a bit water or a lot of water idk). Then you would have all the available props on the side and units as another tab. That way you could make custom maps and maybe even play on them with Friends.

    You should be able to sort what troops to rush with so you don't rush with a good trench defense unit and optimizes your survival chances

    I think you should be able to lock certain units in trenches so that when you attack, they can stay behind and support you or not die from the attack. The trenches are crowded, so IDK how you would implement it.

    I think it would be cool if you added an armoured vehicle as a power-up like the tanks and it took all units behind the main trench TO the main trench about 2 times faster but can only hold a limited supply like 6 or so troops.
    EDIT: Maybe potholes after artillery strikes could dent the metal on the upgraded trenches.
    Also maybe the sandbags could have a short burst animation where they throw sand everywhere after getting shot or hit by artillery.

      I also thought about the truck thing. Feel like it would work great. Also maybe like a med station to heal injured units? Or if it's just one shot one kill, then it gives them like a percent to live, and increases with upgrades. Feel like 10%, 30%, 50% would be fairly balanced, if it's 3 upgrades, otherwise 10% each, up to 50%. But if it's the damage thing, you could use the truck to move injured units back to safety.

    Regarding your ideas of mortars etc, how about you make them exclusive to a) nations or b) trenches. For example, the middle trench can have a minefield that you can buy. The first trench that is available to you can have a mortar rather than a machine gun etc
    Also, how about u implement a fog of war in the back lines and you can buy a reconnaissance plane to remove it? Or even have it as an upgrade for your artillery that it becomes more precise when a plane is active

      @Technic_wolf5 For the minefield I would suggest that the minefields have to be planted by a pioneer. And for the important one: yes, that was the plan. That you only use the minefield when awaiting an enemy push. Alternatively, have them install anti-tank mines

    2 Suggestion:
    1There could be SPA units that would move forward and give support from far away but with a limited range of 2-3 or maybe 4 trenches.
    Enemy units would be forced to push to kill the SPA
    2: Aircraft support: it could be called down to a position and then it would take a few seconds for it to arrive and attack the enemy with machinegun fire from above with a line of fire at the lenght of 2 trenches.

    Maybe add faction specific units like Canadian shock troops or German sturmtruppen (stormtroopers). Another thing could be flechette darts to drop on enemy soldiers. I also think that you should be able to research a toggle whether or not individual troop types are sent out with gas masks, and they cost a bit more if they are deployed with one because if the officer is killed say by the impact of the gas cannister all of the soldiers who he gave a gas mask are guaranteed to die despite previously having a gas mask. Another idea is researching planes to spot for artillery, making them more accurate.

    Regarding the poison gas i feel as is the casualties should be a result of the soldiers failing to put on their gas masks rather than their masks simply failing, also wearing a gas mask should decrease their running speed and worsen their aim. The officer could decrease the chances of soldiers failing to put on their gas masks in time. Edit: you should also be able to build artillery batteries to increase the strength of an artillery barrage.

    Suggestion:
    Baron I think you should add more maps, like a map that favors one side. Or an attack defender map where one side is on a hill. Or a mountain fortification, it should be impossible to break through unless there's multiple attacks from the opposite side. And I think adding in an engineer unit and some summon in placement turrets doesn't sound bad either. Kind of like the machine gun nest but you can build it.
    And I think the flamethrowers should have a percent chance of burning the trenches. So that particular faction can't just jump in the trench if it's on fire. Making it easy for the opposing side the capture and hold the trench without consequences.

    Suggestion: when you buy a unit you can choose to put it in reserve, at anytime you can send your reserves in one big wave, this could allow you to build up your forces without being at risk of artillery.

    I think the upgrade from small vehicle into land ships is great but you should add variation to the vehicles depending on the faction. Keep up the good work.

    a few ideas:
    1 - flamethrowers have less range as it currently is above rifles
    2 - dug outs (bunkers) with a garrison option buildable in trenches that provide immunity to all incoming damage but remove the garrisoned units ability to fight back, should be auto deployed in to the trench if hostiles capture the trench

    I think a nice way to incorporate the Flame throwers is making them a upgrade of the shotgun because historically they were shock Trupps and adding decoy trees as a upgrade for the snipers from which they can shoot the enemy trench and can only be taken out by tanks or artillery. Also another thing I would add is heroes like the Red Baron for Germany or adding Zeppelins as a specialty for Germany. For British the tanks I would add the Whippet as a skin.

    Suggestion: instead of having the tanks and abilities unlockable in the bottom right corner to get as you please maybe put them in the upgrade system,
    do it so you have to build up to tanks, then that way you could make the tanks a bit more powerful and feel more inclined to get them.
    Also flamethrower tanks, rocket launcher soldiers to counter tanks and a repair system for the trenches after fully upgraded
    ( make the trenches chance of negating hits when tanks, flamethrowers and artillery do damage in the trenches like what you do visually )

    I think that it'd be worth while having trenches that are closer to each other passively shooting rifles, low chance of dealing damage but it would spice up those quiet moments and might even open opportunity of attacks, plus nothing is cooler than watching the ai passively fight

    Suggestion: I think adding a veteran scale would be really cool! For example you might have 10 free conscripts! These men however should do less damage and by calling them in it could possibly lower your gold per minute to simulate taking workers out of a factory!

    In terms of Vehicles, I think an APC would be cool to add. Functions as a sort of weaker machine gun tank that summons riflemen and shotgunners from itself

      But it's WWI and there was no real APC's, yes the British tried using tanks in this role but it didn't work

    Barron, I believe you should add a war blimp, something that isn’t affected by some ground troops like shot gunners, flame throwers, tanks and snipers, machine gunners deal most of the damage or give an option to install an anti-air post

    Here are some suggestions for the flamethrowers:
    -Flamethrowers should take longer to kill enemies because, well, it's fire, instead it's an upgrade to the research tree so that they deal more damage
    -Gas masked units take longer to kill with flamethrowers, including flamethrowers themselves.
    -Add a "Fire effect" where if a unit is on fire, even after the Flamethrower is dead, the unit will die slowly.
    -Gas masked units are immune to said fire effect.
    -Buildings are also affected by this fire effect, although stop being on fire quicker.

    I think there should be a medical vehicle that will stay 1 trench behind your men, then after your men engage and enemy maybe 50% of those that died could be “ healed “ and keep fighting!

    In terms of vehicles, it would be interesting to see a troop carrier that could help infantry get to the front lines faster, perhaps with a variant possessing a machine-gun and another cheaper model specifically for transportation. Having it as a starting point to a branch of the research tree would also make getting heavy armor a bigger milestone as it thus takes a heavier investment into research.
    Secondly, An anti-tank upgrade for snipers or a dedicated AT unit would mitigate some of the damage output of tanks; to compensate, the tanks could be given a slightly higher fire rate or a small damage/area of effect increase. To actively show the improvement of the unit or to differentiate it from a common sniper, this hypothetical unit could be given a larger caliber rifle. Additionally, this would open up an avenue where the distinction between light, medium, or heavy tanks actually matters as each class would possess varying amounts of damage reduction. Small arms, for example, could be made practically useless against landships and such an option also heightens the achievement of killing said tank with an officer.
    Finally on the front of upgrading, giving the player a passive, more direct way of getting medals ever-so-often through improving the bunker would help in supplying a bigger research tree and makes snipers a more viable selection as it's not sacrificing a virtually finite resource anymore. Visually, you could incorporate such a medal production facility as a shooting range or a military academy.

    Some things I would like to see
    Commando raids: Ability to take stars or models from other teams
    Nuke: cost 10 medals to unlock and 5 to fire. Destroys all units in one trench
    Two types of damages infantry and vehicle : make unit to be more effective to either infantry or vehicles.
    Land mines: like machine gunner have a person go out place a land mine. Enemies can’t see where it is placed.
    Russian faction
    Tech tree : all units have the ability to level up damage by 5% 3 times. Increase accuracy of artillery. Increase health by 10%. Higher dodge chance. Chance to send out 3 units.
    Vehicle tech tree : more health, higher fire rate for canon tanks and more damage for machine gun tanks. Also it should take time to make the vehicle so cool down for vehicle queue.

    During ww1 there was a war under the surface where both sides tried to blow up the trench from the tunnel that they built. That would be cool thing to have in the game.

    You should add bunker that are add ons to trenches and the enemies have to blow up with grenades and flamethrowers and the units move behind armored vehicles plus you can add juggernauts like the Italians had in ww1 and they use machine guns and can take more hits they can be an upgrade on the regular machine gunners that move

    I think you should add the vintage motorbike with the gatling gun or maybe even a flamethrower and like small wooden bridges over the trenches they can drive across .
    Another suggestion : so if the troops got shot and then retreated to a trench and it is still raining, they can get infected that makes them loose health and speed

    I am once again suggesting British Trench Raiders and German Sturm Truppen to be added. Trench Raider type units that sprint full force to jump into the enemy trench to cause havoc in the enemy defense would be a really cool type of unit to see. British Trench Raiders would carry Lewis Guns and basically be a fast moving Machine Gunner that runs for the enemy trench, swapping to engage the enemy in glorious melee Combat after jumping into an enemy occupied trench. As for the German Sturm Truppen, they'd carry MP18 Submachineguns, giving them shorter range, but to counteract their shorter range, they have steel body armor that protects them from the first and maybe second time they would have been killed. Like the British Trench Raider, the German Sturm Truppen doesn't stop and shoot at the enemy from outside the trench, instead jumping into the Trench with the enemy to beat them into the ground with an entrenching tool. Both the Raider and Truppen wear gas masks and maybe should have an option to be sent ahead of a normal push to soften the enemy before risking units push like Flame Throwers, Officers, or Snipers in an attack.
    And seeing how you want vehicle suggestions, A7V Sturmpanzerwagen all the way.

    You should make it so that occasionally (it takes more time than giving out masks) the officer will give out ciggarettes, which would let snipers pick them off from the enemy trench. But they would miss a lot more often too

    An idea to balance medals: when you convert a medal to gold it start a timer (of i don't know, 30 seconds?) That during that time if you convert a medal you will get 50 gold less, and it restarts the timer

    It would be cool if the heavy rain affect would cause trenches to flood and the soldiers in the trench used they’re helmets like buckets to scoop the water/mud out of the trench giving a time window for the enemy to have a chance to catch the player off guard

    Suggestion:
    Sturmtruppens. You should add special units or elite units that will rush and throw grenades then run again while firing. They will already have gas mask permanently on them and will have body armor. The high price will vary based on whether it had a rifle or a machine gun.

    Yes add other vehicles like an armored car or a keep to transport troops to the front line. All add craters that slow down troops in them and could give them some cover but they could stop a vehicle like a tank and the crew could jump out and run back to the base.

    Can there be props used for cover like when u go out of a trench and u can build like sandbags in the battlefield. Like u can get stickman with props to build cover. For example u can use the props on the battlefield take them to the base and convert them in to props used for cover. And it matters what the props is. If it's like metal and it should have 700hp. If the prop is like wooden then it would only have 300hp

    I think that you need to add a limited ammo capacity and reload animation, such as using stripper clips for the British Lee Enfields and the German Mouzers. You should also add an American an Italian faction with specialized units for each. I think you should is different types of gas such as chlorine gas and mustard gas. I feel like it would make the game better if you had trench shotguns and bayonets, as well as having swords for officers so they can charge down in the trench or for when they meet each other in no man's land.

    suggestion:
    Add a gamemode where you start with no trenches and over the course of the battle you can stop your soldiers so they build the trenches and it has multipule phases like:
    1st Foxholes
    2nd Half trenches
    3rd Not fortified trenches
    -...
    And if the enemy drops and artillery strike on your not finished trenches it will have a chance to place it a phase back.
    Balance: The battlefield will be split in half and you can only build a certain number of trenches on your and your enemies side and there will have to be some space between the trenches

    I think maybe a bi-plane like a SPAD XIII or a tri-plane like the Fokker Dr.I might be cool to have for example it could do a quick fly by over the battle feild kinda like the artillery but it goes across the whole map Shooting across the ground at units plusif the planes would be added you could also add an AA gun on the bace to shoot them down, plus if both sides add the blanes they could engage in a dog fight against each other ? Tho it might cludder up the screen a little bit might be a fun addition

    YOU should add a transporter vehicle with armies and a new unit which throws grenades and a new unit that is a big boy with a big machinegun. Also i would recommend you to make an upgrade for the trench to be a bunker and with two machineguns except you need to see the inside so you know what armies you have in the trench 👍.

    you should add field artillery that are either added like the machine guns. Or you could have them go forward tot he next trench. I think they would be close range. Maybe make tanks more powerful and add Anti Tanks Guns/ Anti tank grenades. This could also go well if you add landships and more powerful tanks.

    Flamethrowers are very powerful as they should be but I think that if you kill them they should explode and deal damage to anyone near, that way they are more balanced and can deal alot of damage at a large cost

    Suggestion: the research tree should be mainly for upgrades, like you are stuck with the machine gun tank and you need to do research to unlock the other one. and an anti-tank rifle upgrade for snipers that can unlock two variants of it.
    And you get certain buff for using different sides, like the Germans get extra damage for attacking trenches, and the British commanders give extra defense to troops when in trenches.
    A moral for hardest difficulty that drops when you loose high cost units, you loose a trench, you get hit with a gas attack (with or without gas masks), when you run out of moral your units could be less effective or if your evil you could just loose.
    As for armored vehicles they should be a cheaper version of the tank, they can defend trenches like normal units, and they could increase attack speed or damage cause they could have ammo in the back. but can be slowed down or be temporally stalled if their is rain.
    you could also add land mines and barbed wire too.
