i really liked this tournament because there was variety in character picks!
In St low tiers can still be pretty powerful-hence Fei Long. Most characters also gave their counters. I main Chun, but a good Fei in theory can destroy her.
There's also a lot of random and human factors in this game. It's not uncommon for a stun to lead to a miracle come back, and it's all on you mostly.
Taylor Bee call me basic but I main ryu even though pretty much anybody can destroy him

The old japanese ST tourneys put this in the dark(flair, skill, etc)...but its still good to see the best fighting game ever made getting the love it will always deserve.

I tried SF5 again today, it is so clunky and tank like movement compared to ST. This is the peak of SF, this and alpha 2 are the greatest.

I need at least three or four of my school mates as a company just to play this game in the arcade when I was a kid. Because most often than not, we will end up "Street fighting" after the game with another kid from another school. The arcade joints in Jakarta in the 90's were packed with bullies and one of the entry point for criminal underworld, since it was usually right around the bars, massage parlor, contraband market, etc.

Is there any reason to alternate between regular and shakunetsu hadouken? Why not only use shakunetsu?
There are a few reasons; blue hadoken deals more stun than red, comboing into blue is easier than comboing into red, recovery frames, and possibly just input error (because red is half circle forward and blue is quarter circle forward sometimes you get blue when you wanted to throw red)

Definitely, Ken is default for Player 2. So he would be the quickest choice for a button check. Picking Ryu or Ken before an actual match is pretty standard if you're checking buttons.

Slow AP1 He's playing as O. Ken. He has faster recovery on fireballs and his dragon punch is invulnerable on the way up. But he doesn't have a super and he also cannot tech throws.

I think its Super SFII Turbo arcade using a code to play old versions of characters? They later implemented this in the Anniversary edition that came out on PS2 and Xbox - it let you choose old, champion, turbo or super versions.

I think players should ALWAYS be either back to back facing opposite directions with their own monitor in front of them or have two monitors in between players to avoid peripheral view and sound ques!!! Always! I hate that they fight side by side so lame.

Looks like you never got a reply. The reason is simply because controllers limit what you can press buttons with. With a fight stick you can press 5 buttons at one with your right hand. With a controller you’re limited to your thumb and index finger (maybe middle as well but I don’t see a lot of people do this)

Old versions of characters don’t have super. Old Ken is stronger than Normal Ken so Old Ken is rather common

Yes he is watch the camera, he's not mashing jab, he's holding his finger down on the button. Think of how fast you have to mash the button to throw jabs at that speed, and then look at his hand and finger movement and determine your self if a completely still hand can throw rapid fire jabs when basic button presses clearly make his hand move.

The announcer guy doesn’t know what “a wash” means. He thinks it means when one side dominates but it really means when both sides are equal basically the opposite of what he thinks.
I'm pretty sure he's using the slang version of wash instead of the official version.
