“i feel that i could have been happy with myself just by being alive” that hit me so hard bc i realised that i put myself down too much for the smallest things and make myself feel so miserable
Being nice to oneself sounds good in theory but it is again a step in the same direction as being bad to oneself coz you are still *thinking* about the "self". Let me tell you practical ways to actually be happy. Get out of the house more, have more meaningful interactions with people, do meaningful work and lastly don't think when thinking is not required. All of these "inferiority complexes" are caused by us modern humans over thinking things when we could simply just enjoy life as it is.
I’m glad that guy leaned from his experience and is able to teach us all as well! Seems like he has matured and gotten very wise. We are our own worst critics

He could look similar, but he would need to lose weight first. I think a lot is achievable nowadays with surgery, not that I'm promoting it at all. I just think people should go the reversible and cheap way first (like losing weight or maybe working out) rather than just thinking about surgery.
@@icymeow3417 Exactly. I believe that too. Our skin complexion and bone structure is god given but we could simply lose some weight and take better care of ourselves rather than changing what was naturally given to us if we care about our appearance to that extent
@@mesia2453 - Agreed. I just feel like before you do something as drastic as surgery which is expensive, has risks, and most of the time it's irreversible unless it's filler, you should get to a healthy weight and maybe work out to see if that gives you the change you want.

korean surgery makes you look like a doll (big eyes and big aegyosal, sharp v line, really high cheekbones and the high and round nose) so that's why the ones that have more surgeries look like they got surgery.
The guy that regrets his surgery is so wise. You can just tell he has a good heart. I admire his ability to introspect and realize that at the end of the day you determine your own happiness. Wishing him all the best
This is the one who regretted in the video! 재미있는 영상 촬영 기회를 주시는 솔파님에게 무한한 감사를👏👏👏 다들 영상 보시고 해소감을 느끼고 행복해지면 좋겠어요🥰🥰 I'm loving myself at the moment. I hope you feel eased and love yourself more🥰🥰
This video really shows how much we can’t judge a book by its cover... I always admired that dude bc he was always so wholesome, funny and he made everyone feel comfortable all the time. But hearing how he suffered from such severe side effects and depression for a long time really made me think hard about how we don’t always know what’s going on in the lives of others, beneath the surface. We should always be kind bc we never know what they’ve went through.
@@minahin2509 Someone who needed to love himself a little more and care a little less what others thought about him, someone who needed to learn that if you get plastic surgery do it for yourself not to make others have a better opinion about you, because the one that has to live with you is only you... The hell what others think you are important and beautiful no matter what.
You are so right. My older sister told me almost every day in childhood that I was an ugly freak and no one would ever love me. I never got any surgery Bc I could not afford it. Now as an adult I realize she was just jealous and trying to make me hate myself. Sadly it did make me hate myself and gave me life long serious body dismorpfia.
꧁꧂kittycat꧁꧂ I was teased for wearing glasses all through 7th grade. I’m over 40 and wear contacts and I’m still ashamed to be seen in glasses. Logically, I know that’s dumb, but harsh words really stick with you.
But at the end of the day, ITS YOUR CHOICE TO DO WHAT WITH THOSE WORDS. I get it, it’s painfully and it sucks.. we all been there. But at the end of the day, why are y’all letting some words getting the best of you and your day? Remember this everyone, just because someone thinks something, doesn’t mean all will. Sure some people may have called you ugly and fat or something.. but that doesn’t mean ALL with think that way of you. Why don’t y’all recall the times people called you gorgeous, pretty, etc? That’s something I’d rather have my head thinking about
Andrew Aguayo well for me I shared a room with my sister for all my childhood and it really wasn't just her words she also physically and mentally abused me. When you're young and someone says something to you about you describing you it become what your perception of yourself is. Especially if no one else is saying otherwise. Perception is reality and thus what she said about me is how I ended up feeling about myself. I was and still am floored and confused when people say I'm beautiful or gorgeous because I cannot convince myself of the real reality. Every time I went to a therapist to try and deal with my depression or other issues I had they always asked me about my life concluded that my sister is the one who really made me who I am. With her words and her abuse. I should also add that she tried to kill me 3-4 times and spent time in a juvenile detention center for it as well. My parents even considered putting her a different home and by the time she was 16 she had to move in with the cousin because her relationship with my mother was also becoming violent. Sorry so long. But yeah. I should mention that as an adult she has since been diagnosed with more than one mental illness. Basically she's heavily medicated now. She denies what happened in the past now that we are in our 30's.
In Korea this is fairly common, my fiance was trying to be a actress, and was actually given a part but in order to get it she was told she have to change her nose, she turned it down even tho they where going to pay for it. They then said why, most girls have to change there whole face for you just your nose.. I think the beauty standard in Korea are extremely high, and insane, so many Koreans feel the need to change something, I have seen beautiful women with a nice jawline want to get it shaved down, cause they think its too strong.. For me I thought it was sad, but many Korean I feel accept this practice. So no hate to them.
It's weird but I notice it too,low self esteem spreads like a virus there. I got into Korea a few years ago so I watch a ton of foreigners who moved there to hear their fun experience, Like dominoes one after another... they all began to touch up their faces. Things they would never have thought about in their home country. Suddenly co-workers and sponsors made them feel pressured. Korea made them see parts that were once fine about their face seem ugly...
Yes true no hate to them. But, all i feel is, pity to these kind of people. They tend to have so many issues including mental issues. May your girlfriend won't be influenced by these toxic people
In Korea, you must be perfect. Height, appearance, fashion sense, career, personality. Suicide prevention phrases are written on the Han river Bridge. This is not just a matter of appearance. If you are perfectionist you can easily kill yourself. Korean society nurtures perfectionists. That is the talent that society wants. What I would like to say is why Korea has been the number one suicide rate in OECD countries for over 10 years in a row. The problem of appearance and plasticity is just the tip of the iceberg. Korean people are not so different from champions in hunger game.
This is so true! Also in Korea you can start having plastic surgery when you are like 10 years old and there are so many middle and high schoolers who've already had plastic surgery which is crazy!
@@cosmicdust5572 oh.... yeah but many people doesn't take plastic surgery.. I'm so sad of many people 'Korean does a lots of plastic surgery...' pleassseee.... remember this.. *Thank you for your kind explanation. I am not good at English because I am Korean.* ☻☻
"I was able to forget and move on from the bad words that others said about me. The real thing that stayed and bothered me was the bad words that I said to myself." That gave me chills.
Over the years, I had always seen him in Solfa videos, and really, really loved his sense of humor and straightforwardness, and it is just so, so great to see him be honest and have the courage to reflect and put his story out there, regrets and all. These kinds of things need to be talked about, but they're not-- and that in and of itself makes this video so beautiful. A great thanks to both him and Solfa.
When I went to Korea last summer, I could literally see the ads of plastic surgery everywhere. The ads that only emphasized how pretty you could be after the surgery were displayed in main streets where everybody including teenagers easily gets to see repeatedly. Korean society really should stop forcing people to fit in their high beauty standards and inform them of the negative effects of plastic surgery.
Hmmm I would like to build on your point. While it's true that every person has a kind of beauty to them, whether they are wise or funny or graceful or artistic etc, but not everyone is "physically beautiful". I think this is the reason why many people can't accept the blanket statement "everyone is beautiful", because we can obviously see that not everyone is "physically beautiful". So it's better to just accept if one is not "physically beautiful" and then focus on the things that are great about oneself. I think that's a more substantial way of looking at things.
@dil oreo I agree exactly. As someone who's been through some really rough things in life I always instantly find kindness, human connection, and imperfections or otherness genuinely beautiful. Ive struggled with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation etc because of my intense fear of how the world viewed me, but have healed from much of that pain and fully recovered from eating disorders and all the harmful internalized ideas I once had about beauty, bodies, ability, and perfection. I realized through the years of recovery that my ideals were all shaped by a society made to earn money off insecurities and the impossible ideal of perfection that hardly anyone can even pretend to maintain without suffering. That there were billions of dollars of diet companies selling the idea that losing weight or changing shape is possible longterm and healthy (spoiler: its not and actually dieting and intentional weight loss is statistically more harmful than learning to care for and feed and rest your body at any size, shape, look, appearance it comes), that skincare products largely are not necessary, that makeup could be a tool like painting and could be as messy and wild as any creative arts instead of a mask to hide imperfections, that body hair removal is completely manufactured as cleanliness and beauty when less than a hundred years ago it was not and there is so much dta we have available now that proves keeping body hair is actually generally more clean and safe, that in reality all bodies of all looks and abilities house a person with all their fullness of emotions/passions/wants/dreams/intentions etc. These things changed my whole outlook on life and others and myself and ive never been more at peace with myself and human beings than after years of letting those truths really sink in and save and heal me. I think we all need to recognize that we are living in capitalist systems designed to profit off of and exploit us at every front, and recognize that ideals of productivity, beauty, wealth, success are not reachable for many of us and are sadly dangerous to view as ideals because they ultimately /require/ othering those without or those not trying to buy into those ideals. Of course, its not our faults if we cant escape the not good enough feelngs those fake ideals bring, but if we can be aware of it, and work on trying to find beauty and love in the odd world around us, I think we'd all be so much happier and freer.
6:17 when he talked about seeing an old picture of himself i related so much...i always look at myself in the mirror or in recent pictures with so much hate and pick apart every single thing i dont like, but when i look at pictures from 5-10 years ago all the things i used to hate and wanted to change were just fine
I agree, but not all the time. They are not always still suffering, some of them have reflected and moved on, like how this guy did. But it's definitely true. I think it was Stephen Colbert whose family died when he was very young, and only had his mother left. To cheer his mother up, he turned to comedy and ended up rising to the fame that he has today.

Yeah it's sad that appearance does matter. By the look at the comments they be trying to find 'sauce' of the Kpop looking guy.

A few simple words can change a person's life.
Indeed.

@@deneuvecrockett5200 It's a wonder what good lighting can do. This lighting is doing none of them any favors.

I wish there wasn't this idea of beauty. Each person is beautiful, they're all different. It's a great world that way
Hmmm I would like to build on your point.
I think that's a more substantial way of looking at things.
goodtimes I agree. There is always ALWAYS someone else in the world who will think you’re BEAUTIFUL
Arnimal Kaul but I think that people forgot that physical beauty is subjective
@@came8363 True. But only to an extent.
The funniest one of the group is always the one suffering the most in silence
I agree. It's sad, but true
he isnt anymore though, he said he is happy and he is still very funny
I agree, but not all the time. They are not always still suffering, some of them have reflected and moved on, like how this guy did.
But it's definitely true. I think it was Stephen Colbert whose family died when he was very young, and only had his mother left. To cheer his mother up, he turned to comedy and ended up rising to the fame that he has today.
The person who regrets the most seems to be the most cheerful person 😖
7:32 "Now I really like myself" that made me tear up 😭
Wait, Park Narae is in this lmao
i thought she looked familiar lol
Cassia Ferreira yes!! She was in the previous vid too haha
This video is supported by barbie talk and park narae is the model of barbie talk
Yeah that one surprised me. I didn’t know she had surgery done. She looks so natural.
@@Ladeliciadelinda she had surgery a lot. She once said that she couldn't do surgery anymore cuz she doesn't have enough bones.
that dude that looks "like an idol" is really attractive tho like-
_edit: so uh- this really started world war 3- anyways, stan sunmi._
I know right
Except for the fact that his eyes look swollen. But yes he's good looking 😂
It’s Namsoo TV you can find him in the comments uwu
not at all to me. i feel cruel saying this and it is definitely not reflective of him as a person and i am sure he is a beautiful person, but to me he looks a bit plastic. i do not want to censor my thoughts, but yeah... he really does... the stuck out nose that just looks very unnatural on his face (and usually looks unnatural on people of East Asian descent in general unless they were born with it), the eyes so swollen, and just... when I look at him, he looks like he got his whole face done. it makes me sad and makes me almost imagine the pain of being in that chair as they do surgery on my FACE/JAW to make it slimmer. that's crazy to me...
@@onemillionpercent noah fence but same thought.
i can kinda tell who’s had it, some i can’t tell
- leah they’ve all had surgery
yea like the girl who got her eyes done and the woman w the orangeish? red? hair
