Oingo Boingo - Live at the Ritz: 12-20-1985 (FULL WLIR+MTV Broadcasts)

- This is the full (to the best of my ability) performance from Oingo Boingo at The Ritz in 1985. The date that likes to circulate the web is 4/27/87. This has had such an impact on people's memories that the setlist websites list the MTV show as a completely different set as this one. When in fact, they are all the same performance. I have done my best to combine the two, using the MTV audio when applicable, and the WLIR audio whenever else. I EQ'd the highs to remove hiss and pitch shifted the radio portions for the most accurate sound. The only song I was not able to include was "Violent Love". Other than that, this is the most complete version TH-cam has ever seen. The only portion of the set I had to guess on was "Goodbye-Goodbye" - I was not sure where it fits in the setlist, so I kept it at the very end. Hope you all enjoy!

This is the best gratitude. I will never understand why the monologue was cut. It’s so catchy and chilling.
the monologue is on the original LP! i think its also gonna be on the rubellan release that just came out, although I don't have that one so I am not positive

Just buy a copy of the BEVERLY HILLS COP soundtrack. That LP sold TONS of copies when it came out, so used copies should be easy to come by and - most importantly - the version on the B.H.COP soundtrack *has* the monologue.
Also - note - I have both the U.S. commercial and promo copies of "So-Lo", and they do *not* have the monologue, despite what is sometimes reported. The U.S. cassette doesn't have it either.
But the B.H.COP soundtrack has it, easy to come by. :)

honestly just judging by how i had to put the set together as well as some other things i’ve found as a result of uploading
this, i’d like to think there’s even more songs from this set we don’t even know about. but who knows if we’ll ever actually hear them :(
@@BobEmrich There's a bootleg concert I have that's mislabeled as being performed at the University of California, since most of the tracks are identical to the Ritz performances. Why I bring this up is the show also has Dead Or Alive, Sweat and Help Me in the exact same quality which has led me to believe they were also from the Ritz show. ^^
@@wuffalo Yes I am familiar with that show which of course has made this saga all the more confusing lol. That show from UC Santa Cruz seems to have other portions of the Ritz show taken from the original truck recording masters rather than a FM recording. Who knows what they really played that night lol

I'm actually just after writing a likely setlist, basing the order on some November shows I have. Based on those, its also a safe assumption that What You See, No One Lives Forever & Insects were also performed!

not to mention I looked it up Bees noises doesn't even exist there is a song little bees they did but that was never released
The only time they made "bee noises" was on "Insects" from their album "Nothing To Fear" which was released in 1982.
