There was actually a book called tales from Mos Eisley spaceport. And it focused on the background characters. It was really good. I believe it could’ve made a good jumping off point for the Star Wars Mos Eisley movie.
Mos Eisley would have made a good movie and a tv series, and something worth streaming today. Obviously Obi old Ben knew, and despite war took Luke there. Not a Jedi move. But that's different story.
Mos Eisley a Star Wars story would have been epic. One of the best EU books was Tales from the Cantina, and a movie version would have been a sight to see.
I rather enjoyed the LAWRENCE KASDAN written & RON HOWARD directed Solo. From the Raiders of the Lost Ark Screenwriter & Director of Willow, too bad many wouldn't even give it a try
Everyone wants this yet no one realises that it wouldn’t be a good idea. No one would enjoy this movie, it would have more success as a show yet still be bad. You can’t have a villainous protagonist in star wars done right.
@The Sausage Man This is my thought... he's best as a terrifying villain that's unpredictable. What makes the character amazing is that we have no idea what he's done and will do. Give me a Thrawn movie or series, though 🤞 Seems obvious that he's going to be the villain in Ahsoka, but I'd rather see his own story then merge the two later, MCU style.
And still finding no true satisfac- tion. He even finds supposed all- ies who prove less than valorous. A few hidden slippery snakes make daily existence in a life suit a shock (literally). One Jedi is named Jorj Luqas. Jeff Light, a shrewd business owner, has two identical brothers, one named Majiq, the other Industrial; their company they have named for themselves. A small, old woman Jedi scien- tist, and her three young cousins, all Force sensitive, even show him some truths behind a mys- teriously secretive Emperor Pal- patine and his hoary, scheming lackeys. I am thinking of these off the top of my head. (Where I keep my hyperchlorians.) I have more.
If you had the right writer/director you could make a full length Mos Eisley film! TAKE ONE: Introduce a "Tower of Babel" type film which shows the lives of various characters at the bar and then have a common hidden link between them TAKE TWO: Speaking o Akira Kurosawa you could also have a variation of his film "Rushamon" where various viewpoints/testimonies of the same incident are discussed at the local bar
I want a movie playing in the underworld of Coruscant showing how desperate the life is in these forgotten parts of the planet with real heart breaking drama scenes, ruthless and brutal outlaw gangs who control a sector etc. But most people wouldnt want this kind of film in a Star Wars setting. But I would love to use the Star Wars Universe to tell stories that have nothing in common with classic star wars story telling. Why does it always have to be the classic good vs evil fairytale space opera like story when a whole galaxy offers us so much more. Other ideas: A "House of Cards" like tv series playing in the senate district with intrigues and corruption also showing the luxury apartments, gala dinners, Coruscants high society etc.
The "Tales from Mos Eisley/Jabba's palace" books would've made great source material for spin-off movies. Much better than "Solo" or "The Book of Boba Fett ft Din Djarin, Luke and Pitball."
I am so pleased these were canceled. The Orbi-Wan movie was the only one I would liked to have seen but the Disney+ show was very good. I feel the Last Jedi was terrible (I could go into why but that is a whole other thing; I would’ve liked to see more Rose in IX though.) And thank goodness the Synder thing never happened.
What about Patty Jenkin's Rogue Squadron not going ahead, thanks to the stupidity of Kathleen Kennedy? Kennedy is the reason we aren't getting any movies now...
"Duel of the fates or Rise of Skywalker? Which do you think might’ve been better." Well, considering I’ve spent the last several months slowly converting the leaked script into a storyboard and animatic with ambitious aspirations to turn this fan project into my first animated feature movie…I’m undecided.
For me I really do like the Rise of Skywalker, and duel of the fates sounds interesting, but there are several things in Duel of the fates that I don't prefer over the Rise of Skywalker counterpart. So basically I'm interested but I like what we got
Funny that Lukas considered a Wookie & Droids movie. Movies with actors hidden under masks would mean he could hire anyone to be in the suit and pay voice actor wages to the voices. This would simplify things if any actors that got tired and wanted their character killed off.
Duel Of The Fates was garbage. Why have Hux suddenly be a Jedi artifacts collector, Rey falling in love with Poe for some reason and Rebels on Coruscant? After the fall of the Empire, Coruscant was a abandoned by all forms of galactic politics. It seems so useless to fight a battle there. Thats just 3 reasons out of many more.
Interesting. I'd heard about Hux being a collector and Coruscant. Haven't heard about Rey x Poe and the rebels. What are the other reasons why it's garbage? Where did you find that information on Duel of the Fates?
I hadn't heard about the Snyder one. I absolutely LOVE Snyder's Justice league. But..... I hate how RJ changed lore with 8, and I wouldn't want Zakk doing that.
Josh Trank could have ran TBOBF instead of Robert Rodriguez. Or at the very least directed an episode. Both whom are Boba fans. Only the former may do better than the latter. The world may never know.
Hard pass. He’s too “Edge Lord”. Everything has to be dour, dark, and muted. That pertains to his visual style and his thematic style. Definitely not what I wanna see in Star Wars, unless it’s the New Jedi Order and the Yuuzhan Vong Invasion. To each their own.
I am more curious about how many characters of star wars scrap out with the force by George Lucas and writers and from Disney also. Different topic, i like to know about history of Palpatine, how was he fully trained in jedi ways and who was his master in the past or was Palpatine trained in darkside with a dark Lord instead. Also how did he kept this secret hidden identity from jedi high council all this time.
Honestly I think the sequel trilogy are good movies, not as good as the others but still better than the Star Wars holiday special ew, but they could’ve done a much better job.
I wonder what companies 747 was taking off during filming of Star Wars. yeah using the pre-empire strikes back name. I would have been interested in a lot of those movies... Except maybe the Rian garbage, I think I have seen enough of those though out my life already. I have only seen one, and it improved much when Ron Howard took it over.
I still can't believe how badly they botched the sequel trilogy... Ok, TFA was typical JJ, and a "safe" movie that was basically Ep4 all over again--- but at least it garnered a lot of interest with his typical "mystery boxes," and it was the highest grossing movie ever for a time.... Never even touching how easy it is to have a base plot for an episode 7, 8, & 9 which would've all been TREMENDOUS, all-time money makers, yet they went more or less in the COMPLETELY OPPOSITE direction, but the fact that they didn't have an overarching story, told over 8-9 hours of a TRILOGY, it's just... im not sure there's a word for how mind numbingly idiotic that is!!! You got this CASH COW of a property in STAR WARS... you got many people waiting the full 32, to see what Luke, Leia, and Han were up to since Jedi in 83... you have people who weren't satisfied, at all, EVER with the prequels and dying to see more new, better films... u have the success of the clone Wars cartoon...and u have, for all their "faults," DISNEY, behind it, with all their money... this trilogy shouldve been as easy as a 24 year old Shaq standing alone underneath the basket, ball in hand, slamming it home. And yet... The Last Jedi was crap (yes, it WAS. As episode 8 in THIS saga, it was crap, and not even looking at the plot holes and ignorance of tried and true movie tropes). It can be looked at as a good movie if it was a standalone movie called SPACE BATTLE, starring Frank AirRunner, Foo Single & his hairy lifemate Bitey, and the mysterious loner, BEAM, finding out she has powers from THE FIELD, as she wields her Laser Sabre! But as the EIGHTH installment in a universe with 35 years worth of lore? Nah... must've been made by a big time TREKKIE. And then....my GOD... my GODDDDDD. We have THE RISE OF SKYWALKER.... do I really have to explain ANYTHING about how bad this movie was, as Ep9 OR as part 2 to the aforementioned SPACE BATTLE movie lol?? Can pretty much sum it up in one word-- "somehow" 🤣 Shit, you don't even have to type in the full word in Google to get that result, just type in "someh" and BooyA, there it is... Truly, one of the saddest, dumbest, insulting, irreparable missteps in cinema history, since thanks to age and DEATH, we cannot TRULY get a do-over, as has been rumored... (hey, I'll probably take a redo, even without Carrie, because of how bad the sequels are! Even if they have no choice but to make it animated--- so long as they're PLANNED OUT and done by a team that ARE ACTUAL FANS of Star Wars!!!)
Obviously you've never read Tales from Mos Eisley which would now be a Star Wars Legends book. Thank God the Hack Snyder SW project isn't happening. Dude is extremely overrated as a director. Basically a less talented Michael Bay. Bay who is also a hack.
Rian johnsons movies were really crappy as the Base storyline is almost the same as the old. They could at least have written a new script instead of rewriting the old , it only has a few alterations but it even follows the three movies setup
Anything would've been better than ROS.. Hope all those people who boycotted Solo are happy that because of them all these stand alone films got canceled....
For as badly i wish we would have got Duel of the Fates over the episode 9 we got, I would much rather got the Lucas sequel over anything. On a side note I found a nearly mint original first print Splinter of the Minds Eye in soft back at a fucking thrift shop for a quarter! I had a death grip on it all the way home lol.
MOs Eisley spacesport could have really worked if u did it likee the amazing british film company Amicus anthology movies, like tales from the crypt, vault of horror, torture garden and the house that dripped blood.
they already did the Seven samurai storyline in starwars.... TWICE! Once i nthe 70s in the Marvel Comic series (awesome adapation btw) and the Clone Wars during the first (maybe 2nd) season did a straight up adaption as well. SNYDEr doing one would have been disasterous
Yessss excellent book
Snap 😀
An anthology series based on the scum and villainy of Mos Eisley would've been awesome!
Tales from jabbas palace and tales of the bounty hunters are both the same style and great books
Mos Eisley a Star Wars story would have been epic. One of the best EU books was Tales from the Cantina, and a movie version would have been a sight to see.
I read "splinter of the mind's eye" nonstop from cover to cover, I just couldn't put it down! I've never done that with any book before or since!
Oh how I wish we'd gotten that version of Episode 9.
Episode 9 was basically Star Wars Dark Empire the update film version of the story so yeah they definitely could have done better.
I rather enjoyed the LAWRENCE KASDAN written & RON HOWARD directed Solo. From the Raiders of the Lost Ark Screenwriter & Director of Willow, too bad many wouldn't even give it a try
Willow is a highly under-rated film - I find it very entertaining and enjoyable.
I would have loved to have seen any of those projects instead what we got with VII-IX.
Still waiting on a solo Darth Vader movie. Taking place between Episode 3-4. Him hunting down Jedis and such.
Everyone wants this yet no one realises that it wouldn’t be a good idea. No one would enjoy this movie, it would have more success as a show yet still be bad. You can’t have a villainous protagonist in star wars done right.

Watch kenobi

They should call it Darth Vader:The Purge and have it based off the novel Darth Vader:Rise of the Dark Lord
If you had the right writer/director you could make a full length Mos Eisley film!
TAKE ONE: Introduce a "Tower of Babel" type film which shows the lives of various characters at the bar and then have a common hidden link between them

A Wookiee or Droid film would be epic.
It wouldn't have back in 1977-79 lol
And Shadows of the empire didn't even make the list. I even have the soundtrack for that on cd, the novel and the game on the N64.
"Duel of the Fates:" best storyline
"The Last Jedi:" most money - K.K.
I think a dearth maul movie might be bomb
The "Tales from Mos Eisley/Jabba's palace" books would've made great source material for spin-off movies. Much better than "Solo" or "The Book of Boba Fett ft Din Djarin, Luke and Pitball."
A game of thrones and Star Wars mix would have been really interesting to see
I preferred the Solo film over the Boba Fett tv series.
Who doesn't ,the writers of book of boba Fett just made it all about mando ,they ruined one of the best characters
Some of those sound like they could have been very interetsing. But not all.
Star wars duel of the fates sounds like an awsome ending to the franchise. They were stupid to let it pass
What about Patty Jenkin's Rogue Squadron not going ahead, thanks to the stupidity of Kathleen Kennedy? Kennedy is the reason we aren't getting any movies now...
The Mos Eisley idea sounds like the Star Wars version of Trek's DS9...which got...mixed reviews.
While, in my opinion The Rise of Skywalker was the least offensive of the sequels, SO much more could have been fixed.
"Duel of the fates or Rise of Skywalker? Which do you think might’ve been better."
Well, considering I’ve spent the last several months slowly converting the leaked script into a storyboard and animatic with ambitious aspirations to turn this fan project into my first animated feature movie…I’m undecided.

I’m happy we got shows for Boba and Obi Wan. Shows even with 6 episodes are longer the two hour long movies.
YES. Kenobi was basically a 6-act movie and I will always prefer that over 3 acts.
Funny that Lukas considered a Wookie & Droids movie. Movies with actors hidden under masks would mean he could hire anyone to be in the suit and pay voice actor wages to the voices. This would simplify things if any actors that got tired and wanted their character killed off.
Thank Christ Snyder’s movie was canned. It would’ve been worse than Last Jedi. And Rebel Moon will be total shit

Mine could help the franchise. My chief qualifications are I am a fan who can write well.
Not a Movie but I remember some time ago, there were rumors of a Star Wars Series that would take place on HBO. But that never happened, obviously!
I hadn't heard about the Snyder one. I absolutely LOVE Snyder's Justice league.
But..... I hate how RJ changed lore with 8, and I wouldn't want Zakk doing that.
They should have adapted, Tales From The Mos Eisley Cantina into an anthology movie.
JJ totally stuffed SW
Josh Trank could have ran TBOBF instead of Robert Rodriguez. Or at the very least directed an episode. Both whom are Boba fans. Only the former may do better than the latter. The world may never know.
Zack Snyder Star Wars that would have been a masterpiece
Hard pass. He’s too “Edge Lord”. Everything has to be dour, dark, and muted. That pertains to his visual style and his thematic style. Definitely not what I wanna see in Star Wars, unless it’s the New Jedi Order and the Yuuzhan Vong Invasion. To each their own.
Not if it was anything like his Justice League movie
Yes all please
The two Ewok movies, the Clone Wars ^movie^ and "Rise of Skywalker" are all failiures that sadly did happen.
I am more curious about how many characters of star wars scrap out with the force by George Lucas and writers and from Disney also. Not a movie but a video game, 1313. I believe it was also meant to be a tv series at some point
I want to see a Dexter Jettster cooking show. All of these other ideas pale in comparison.
We need a young boba movie
Stop...Hyping...Snyder... the last thing we need are Snyder-Bros and Star Wars Fans creating a subset....
Honestly I think the sequel trilogy are good movies, not as good as the others but still better than the Star Wars holiday special ew, but they could’ve done a much better job.

Everything that Disney's made so far to do with Star Wars is a absolute failure
Even rogue one or the last season of clone wars, the mandolorian, the 2017 darth Vader comics, moments from book of boba Fett and Kenobi.
Thank goodness Snyder didn't get his hands on Star Wars!
Thank god we didn’t get a Zak Snyder Star Wars film.
I liked the sequel trilogy wish we could of seen more of the original cast in action though
I still can't believe how badly they botched the sequel trilogy...

Apparently this is all due to Bob Chapek who was focused on streaming. Now hes fired, there could hypothetically be more films coming. Hypothetically
Yeah. Rise of Skywalker was a big win for a certain type of Star Wars fan (ie, fans that don’t exist)
Rose Tico was the Jar Jar Binks of the sequel trilogy. So annoying!
I don't think so, Rose's character could have been redeemed with better writing.
Obviously you've never read Tales from Mos Eisley which would now be a Star Wars Legends book. Thank God the Hack Snyder SW project isn't happening. Dude is extremely overrated as a director. Basically a less talented Michael Bay. Bay who is also a hack.
Release the Colin Trevorrow cut
Rian johnsons movies were really crappy as the Base storyline is almost the same as the old. They could at least have written a new script instead of rewriting the old , it only has a few alterations but it even follows the three movies setup
Movies that never happened didn’t fail, not happening isn’t failure
duel of fates would’ve been so much better
George should have never sold ....
10 failed Star Wars movies (and why they didn't happen)...and three failed Star Wars that did happen.
Anything would've been better than ROS..
Hope all those people who boycotted Solo are happy that because of them all these stand alone films got canceled....
hello
The only one on this list I wish had seen the light of day is Zach Snyder’s. I hope he is really still working on it…
Abroms all but erasing the mistake known as "Rose" from Episode IX gave me new respect for Mr. Lens Flare.
🌷 𝐩𝓻Ỗ𝓂Ø𝓈M
Less Rose is good, episode 9, not
yep...
