    Hey, if you're doing this "why is everyone buying x" series, what about a series "why is nobody buying x" where you look for products (or that the team already knows) that are very underrated, although requiring more work than this series and would most likely be a niche I think it could be interesting.

      @@emanuelchayer1756 speakers are measured on measurement microphones while headphones are measured on ear simulators. You can see there's a boost on midrange on headphone frequency target because that's what we hear. Also that frequency response has created based on flat sounding speakers. If you measure flat sounding speakers on ears simulators you'll get similar result except on bass region. Bass is higher on headphone target because headphones need more bass to create speakers' bass effect that we feel on our body rather than only on ear region.

    My biggest concern with a lot of these Amazon best-selling products is that their 10s of thousands of ratings are almost always extremely misleading. Many/most of these smaller cheap Chinese brands is that they somehow re-use/recycle listings for products while keeping the total ratings of the older products. I can't even tell you how many times I've looked at a product that was essentially brand new and had thousands or tens of thousands of positive reviews, where many of the reviews were quite clearly for a different product altogether. I really with Amazon would do something about this because it is the epitome of ratings-manipulation and dishonest business practice. Buyer beware...

    • @Kjtuiono
      @Kjtuiono ปีที่แล้ว

      What they do is they flood their brand with some good but cheap products and some bad and also cheap products and somehow the good product they made somehow ends up with reviews for all their products as a whole on all their items idk why it doesn’t make any sense.

    • @RockingStar1011
      @RockingStar1011 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      @@Kjtuiono No, what they actually do is abuse Amazon's feature that lets you edit your product's details (which is absolutely fair and important to have). They put out a cheap and decent product, generally in a high volume, 'easy' market (like kids toys), let it gather a bunch of reviews, then completely overhaul the page to the tech or electronic product they want to scam off on. It's pretty noticeable if you save one of their 'original' items, wait long enough, and you'll see that one day it magically transforms into something entirely different. Amazon isn't mixing product reviews at all, it's the seller changing the product page itself.

      @@Kjtuiono It's close, but it's not exactly what you said. The reviews aren't being placed on "all their items", the reviews are staying with the 'product' that was reviewed itself and then the 'product' is changed. There's a difference between the two scenarios.

      They already do many of the tests for the LTT videos, but they're building a website too where you can compare products etc.
      Basically they want to be able to call out marketing bullshit and provide people with a central hub from which they can get accurate product information. That somewhat exists, but the private funding and the reach of LTT puts it on another level.

Sure, it's two cables instead of one, and lav mic requires a bit more hassle, but i think both the sound and the mic performance will be worth it
    UPD: Finally got all the stuff, so time for a quick review: according to my friends the mic is ok and doesn't sound better or worse if placed on the collar, so it's basically the same thing, just with a touch more hassle, however the iems compensate for it: i've never thought the games sound this spacious. To be fair, my 30$ tws earbuds sound about the same(a bit less bass and the highs aren't as clean as far as i can tell, and maybe a touch worse soundstage), but compared to the headset it's much better and i would easily pick the sound quality and hassle of putting on iems and a lavalier rather than the convenience and crappy sound of a 25$ headset.

    I had a 25$ xiberia v20 headset that worked amazingly and I recently saw it branded as jeecoo. It was a similar type of generic headset like bengoo. That being said, everyone said I sounded amazing and I could hear really well at distance in a game. god gaming headsets were the bane of my existence. I had three over the course of a year and a half where the electronics broke so they got binned. Then I learned the fact that for the price of a "good" gaming headset you can just buy actual headphones/mic and I have been using the same pair of Meze 99s and a usb at2020 for 5 years now with no problems. The combos like $280 which is a lot but your voice and audio will sound 10 times better than a "gaming " headset at that price and they will never die on you unless you run them over with a car (also the headphones are Hella comfortable even after 7 or 8 hours).

I can digitally mix channels without any latency, i can mix my microphone into my headphones so i have Sidetone / direct Microphone feedback and then i can also mix it into the microphone channel with different volume - i can therefore configure if i want to hear myself and how loud completely decoupled from what others hear. Also i can use the third channel and mix out my microphone only and use that as Line In for my work laptop. I then mix together my PC, laptop and smartphone using an Yamaha MG06.

    I had this headset at one point and I used it heavily at the time. It lasted for about 2 years or so before the wire got to the point where it only worked at a certain angle. It was a bit tight on the head, but not that bad. Also the cups were slightly small making them into a sort of on-ear instead of around ear headphone. The mic was acceptable at this price point, but the mute switch didn't actually fully my mic. Rather it reduces the mics volume a whole bunch, but sounds of me clapping or dropping a pencil could still be picked up by the mic. The cup s would get uncomfortable within 2 hours and your ears will be red after 4 hours of use. They are also a bit on the heavier side and the headband cushion doesn't do to well of a job. Your head will be dented if you use these.

    After watching Tek Syndicate's "Gaming Headsets Suck" video about 8 years ago, I bought the Superlux HD681 headphones + Antlion ModMic. Great bass response and nice soundstage, perfect for CS:GO in my opinion. This setup is still amazing, with my only gripe being that the elastic cords wore out because my head is so large. The stock ear pads can be replaced, but I still have not needed to, even with my excessively abrasive 5 o'clock shadow.
    I have more recently purchased a used pair of Phillips SHP9500 headphones + a generic mic from Amazon. I prefer these for longer usage, such as for Zoom/Teams/phone calls and music while working, as they feel lighter and the open back provides an even larger sound stage and I can still hear other things in the room due to the open back design.
    But the Superlux + ModMic are still my favorite for gaming.

    I bought one of these 3 years ago (well the same headset under a different brand on sale for $15. It's been the best headset I've ever owned. Even so called premium ones usually end up breaking after a year or so. Oh and the mic? It's fine and used along with Nvidia Broadcast, It sounds just fine for anything I do. I obviously would use these for a video call, but for gaming and casual chatting in virtual worlds, they are hard to beat. I'm amused whenever I see a streamer or TH-cam creator using some iteration of these. I'm like "Yeah, they know." When these eventually go, I'll buy another. I just wish I'd found them earlier and not wasted so much money on crappy name brand ones.

    The real issue with the pleather ear cuffs, on basically any headset, the pleather begins to melt off basically and its just gross. The under foam doesn't have any other protection so it gets filthy fast from just being on you. This is even including showering constantly, the oils in your skin just get sucked up into the foam after they dissolved the pleather
    Also these look exactly like the KOTION/VersionTech G2000 headphones, like down to the exact same build and everything. Just less LEDs and less cool looking I guess. I used the G2000 for awhile because they didn't cost much and were fantastic headphones, stopped using them because the pleather began melting like crazy as the glue holding it together fell apart. Great part of the G2000 is that it comes with a splitter for mic and headphones for most PC's

    I had those exact headphones a few years ago, and I wore them almost all the time while I was awake for at least 1.5 years before they broke for some reason.
    EDIT: I bought a clone of these, the KOTION EACH G9000 headphones. I am only realizing this when I dug though my search history.

    I just had to comment on the video's sponsor. I picked up one via an Amazon "open box" deal ($260 vs $400+ "new") and it has been great. Love the touch controls & the color accuracy is spot on. It makes a great portable monitor for my Steam Deck and 2nd monitor for my Asus 2022 G14, which also has a calibrated screen. Yes, there are cheaper portable monitors, bigger ones, ones with higher resolution, etc. But I am not sure many will do better than this one.

    I'd like to point out that I own the Sennheiser GSP 350 headphones and at some point I found out that my Windows OS was unable to properly auto update due to the audio drivers that were included for this product. It took me several weeks to figure out why windows was constantly getting stuck while trying to do mandatory security updates. Only removing the drivers completely fixed the issue and allowed me to update my Windows OS again.

    I bought a similar pair a few years ago from amazon for $35. As someone that barely uses a headset unless im playing with friends for the price they're pretty decent.
