actually it's common for people who powder coat at home to heat up metal parts with a blow torch, powder coat it and re-heat it when they don't have a big enough oven. I've seen bike frames done that way. You don't need as much temperature as you use to change color but the process it's pretty much the same.
that's how i do it , small parts are easier to preheat before powder coating as it sticks and melts then I just bake it in a toaster oven , the temp is much lower than heat treating as If you powder it at them temps it will bubble the powder , I have lots of powder coated frames on my alchemyirons*com site I made a trash can oven but I never needed it

After you finish, you could get a quart of automotive acrylic clear coat from autozone. Then use an old tube to dip it..it will glisten like a gem...
so it will turn brown then gold?
first color to show will be "straw" or gold it goes immediately to purple , blue , lt blue , white

no if i want to color heat treat I use heat , if I want to powder coat them I used powder coating , this isn't called how to apply colored epoxy
