Originally this song was written as an entrance song for the heavy weight boxer Vitali Klitschko, but his management refused the song as it seem to heavy for them. This in mind, the lyrics become senseful, right? As it was not used for the boxer, the band searched for another "backstory". While brainstorming about this, one member remembered a scene in a Snow White film where the dwarfs said, that Snow White is their sun. So it came to Rammstein's screwed up version of the Snow White story, with a harsh Snow White junkie addicted to gold.

Great reaction Cliff! ❤️The video is a bit weird. The song was written as an entrance song for Vitali Klitschko but he turned it down because he felt it was too heavy (really Vitali??! 🤣). The lyrics make more sense with that of being song for a boxer, references of hits, the counting to 10.. from what i recall they had couple ideas for video and ended up going with this one but i cant remember the reasons, maybe someone else will know. Snow white is using the Dwarfs to mine the gold like slave labor and giving favors in return it could be seen as a take on Drug abuse and using the people around you for that next high. I love the song though 🥰

sadly bands like Rammstein have had to turn off comments due to getting Me Too'd. they tried it with Marilyn Manson and Til Lindemann, but as usual whether someone is guilty or not, in come the inflammatory comments.
No, Rammstein have had their comments off for at least 10 years at this point. Not sure why but it was nothing to do with the allegations against Till Lindemann last year.
Please, please, please listen to the entire 'Mutter' album that this song is from as it's a really wonderful thing I think you'll enjoy very much.

I'm so annoyed I didn't check them out earlier but yep everything they do is unmatched. My thoughts on the fact that Snow White is using GOLD like COCAINE is the fact that there are two slang words for cocaine in German: first KOKS which also is a sort of coal, second “weißes Gold” meaning white gold due to the high price of cocaine.

Little bit different Snowwhite…i remember when this video comes up…its about 20 years ago…Probably more…still one of their best…. The song was for boxer Klitchko as song for match , but he refuse it as “too hard”…thats why they count to ten…
Money can definitely be like a drug, so showing gold being used as if it's coke/heroin is a pretty interesting idea for the video. As for what made them go this direction with it in the first place, no idea.

Funny thing about the german languange if you dont speak it its sounds very angry, i ha e close friend speaks perfect german and her dog was bilingual it was really impressive seeing a dog obey in 2 languages but it will make a short mustash man sound very angry and wouldnt ya know if those speaches were translated into engliah now that they have and my friend helped me confirm the translation like confucious he never said a lot of that narrative
