Sturgis is a 3 year model. 80-82. In 83-84 Harley basically combined the FXS and FXB into the FXSB Low Rider Shovelhead. A lot of people think the Shovelhead was discontinued in 83 which isn't true. It was 1984 and they coexsisted that year with the EVO. Harley did produce 385 FLHP's with Shovelheads in 1985 but not for the civilian market. In 1985-86 the FXSB continued production with the EVO motor although Harley had to modify the frame slightly to fit the EVO in it. Hey Ken, Shovelheads are notoriously hard to find neutral when not running. Before you come to a complete stop when the bike is running pop it into neutral then. It's a trick I learned a long time ago.
+1 on all of this. i have an 85 FXWG which is the Evo with the cowpie 4 speed. i can confirm that neutral can be difficult without the bike running. it just slides right in when rolling with the engine running. i bet if that bike will roll down the road under its own power itll go right into neutral
