As a Filipino, it blows my mind to see so many similarities between Filipino cuisine and that of Indonesia.
The Lupis is very similar to Suman sa Lihiya, both using sticky rice dipped in caramelized coconut cream. The Bika is same as our Bibingka. The same methods and components are used. Gudeg might be similar to our Ginataang Langka (Bisaya) but with a simplier ingredients of just coconut milk, vinegar, and young jackfruit. Babi Guling is equivalent to Lechon.
    Hello Indonesia, from the Philippines!

Luke!! Appreciate your efforts, time, hard work to expose these a long-time underrated Indonesian cuisines to the world!! 👍Clearly, after watching so many episodes of your video enjoying them, your tummy has been Indonesianized!? 😊😋 you seem to have No problems eating anything without having to go to bathroom esp after eating at the street vendors! 😁🤣 obviously, you must have learned first where to go for the most delicious foods the country can offer!! 👍😍 Having been living abroad for more than 2 decades, my #1 list is always to keep having street vendor foods whenever I come home to visit my family in Jakarta! 👍😍
Kudos on your hardworking of making the vlogs and enjoying all kinds of foods around the world while helping others where to go for some food adventures! 👏 💐 Perhaps, some more of Indonesian words should be added to your vocabularies? 😉 Indonesians would def love you more!! *Salam kenal dari California, Luke!!* 🙏 🇺🇸 ❤️ 💙 💜 🇮🇩 😃

Hi luke! I think you have a very very tolerant tongue😄!! As an indonesian, I can’t eat nasi goreng kambing till nowdays!
Sometimes I wonder why nasi padang become the most famous food from indonesia(the spice very aromatics for foreigner I think). Just IMO, terang bulan/martabak manis should be more tolerable because seller(widely) used wijsman/anchor butter which common to see around the world. But yeaa back to everyone’s taste right?
Hope you enjoy your food travelling around this world and share to us your great experience!

Hey, Luke! I just watched your video. I little amazed that you can handle spicy like that. As far as I know, most Westerners didn't. And you can pronounce the local term for the food like sambal, kecap manis and else like you used to. So I believe that it's not your first time in Indonesia. Glad that you enjoy the food.
