Their two mash bills @100 proof are okay, however the two at barrel proof (red label) are outstanding! My complements for holding all four expressions for an extra 2 years past Bottled in Bond requirements.
I bought the Red Wheat as a Binny’s Staff pick in Vernon Hills, IL. Being a “Wheated” guy, fell in love with it. So smooth. I look for it when pass a Binny’s now as not all of them have it.
Nice review Scott. I thought the Rickhouse Proof were distillery only bottles. I was pleasantly surprised to find both the Bourbon Rickhouse Proof and Soft Red Wheat Rickhouse Proof bottles at Binny’s in IL. Picked them both up and really like them. 🥃
They have recently launched these into other markets, which I was happy to see and hear. It's going to be a brand to really watch heading into 2024. Cheers 🥃
Great review. We are big fans of Holladay. The Ben Holladay and Soft Red Wheat Rickhouse Proof are both amazing. Look for them in 2024 if you haven't tried it yet.
It should start to settle down a little. At times you can get that with wheated bourbons. It comes across as bright or proofy. It should settle down pretty quickly for you. Keep me posted. Cheers 🥃
Scott, thank you for the video. I just picked up the single barrel version of this soft red wheat rickhouse proof. Can I ask you which glass you are using, exactly? Thanks
Hey Spencer, these SB picks are pretty incredible, I had one a month ago at a whiskey event, and man, was it good. They Glass is called a tulip, I believe, and it's a fun tasting glass. Thanks for watching, I appreciate it 🙏 Cheers 🥃
Scott, can you get this online or is it distillery only right now. Also, have you tried their ancient cave offering yet. I just picked up a soft red wheat & love it! Keep up the small craft distillery reviews....love them!
Hey Eric, it is not a distillery, only release. It is now out in the market. Unfortunately, I don't know how many states this is in yet, but it shouldn't be long before most are able to get it. I'm sure they also have it at the distillery, though. Cheers 🥃
Appreciate you watching and sharing! Are you typically a wheated bourbon guy? How long has the bourbon been open before you decided you didn't enjoy it? Sometimes, wheaters can take a little time to change, especially at cask strength! Cheers 🥃

Got this last week and it's coming off pretty hot to me. Maybe it'll mellow out with time

Will be at the distillery this weekend! Great offerings!
Enjoy, I'm sure that will be a great time! They are doing some amazing things. Cheers 🥃
Probably my favorite right now
I can understand why! Cheers 🥃
Love the Ben Holiday line
Same here, I think they'll be a brand to really watch heading into 2024. Cheers Brandon, and thanks for watching and commenting 🥃
Hi, which did you prefer the rickhouse red wheat or the rickhouse straight bourbon?
Rickhouse Straight Bourbon is 🥃🥃🔥 🔥
Hey Scott! Awesome review
Thanks T, appreciate it 🙏

It’s now available on seelbach’s
I like this one, but can't agree on the value. I know it's nitpicking, but for me, this is at most a $60 bourbon
Its just an ok bottle. Almost any bottle in the background is better.
Thanks for watching sharing your thoughts! Cheers 🥃
never seen one. probably a niche distribution.
The distribution is getting larger, keep an eye out! Cheers 🥃
I bought a hyped up bottle for myself and am so disappointed. It tastes young and may better with age. Nothing special jumps out about this pour.😢

@@mybourbonjourney it was my first pour, I'll try it again later. I do like wheated bourbon but really enjoy ryes.
