    Wow Tbilisi, great choice!! Spent 6 months in Georgia (2 months in Tbilisi, 2 in Bakuriani, 2 in Batumi) and really liked it. You could try to visit Batumi which is by the seaside and it's very lovely in the summer. It takes like 5 hours by direct train and costs only $10.
    If you want some indian food in Tbilisi, please try Khushi Indian Restaurant, it's the best Indian I've ever had!
    Enjoy Tbilisi, a place that'll stay in my heart for a long while!

      If we don't call a truce. In a country where it is forbidden to speak out loud, the only thing you can do is dig graves and die at the same time. Before the elections, in Spain itself, support Russia. What is Russia's fault? Children of mothers are dying in a war that was started to vent negativity on the people and to group a platform on which to make money for the West and get rid of the Russian and Ukrainian people. Have you come to your senses? Are you enjoying the genocide? You are emotionally in Europe and the West, but at this point no one understands, the place of reasoning, they are doing to continue the war that is genocide of the people over the people of Russia and Ukraine, which hinders the politicians and authorities who steal and divide the money after the destruction.

    The US dollar has lost about 30% of its value against the lari in the last year or so. That makes price comparisons tricky even if you visited the country fairly recently.

    • @GabrielTravelerVideos
      @GabrielTravelerVideos  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That could explain it, also it's gotten more popular in the past few years, especially since a lot of Russians have arrived.

    • @Victor_31_
      @Victor_31_ ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@GabrielTravelerVideos That is certainly one of the factors but overall tourism is still below the pre-COVID level. 30% down, if I recall correctly the official report. So, if the new resident Russians choose to avoid touristy places and the “real” tourists are fewer then restaurants and hotels would try to raise the prices for compensation… Something along these lines :)

    Like you Gabriel, I so love & enjoy global travel & since seeing this video, I'm itching to see Georgia & Armenia.
    I really want to visit Tbilisi & I know I'll get there next year, but this year I'm heading elsewhere.
    Such a very interesting country & this lovely city is full of awesome cultural surprises & the food is so very good.
    It's always great to see you visiting varying countries & in this instance, It's truly interesting, as I'm a huge fan of Georgia & Tbilisi.
    Actually, I took numerous DNA tests & I keep seeing Georgia & some neighbouring countries appearing in my results. And apparently, inherited from my Father's side of the family, so for me, super surprising, fascinating & interesting & I feel deserves some further investigating.
    Thanks for sharing your travel journeys & here's wishing you well.

    I have been waiting for this :) Since I'm heading to this country in two months for my 40th birthday :) I can relate to the airport taxi situation. That's why when I travel to a new country, I sometimes ask my hotel to arrange a pickup or I'll arrange a pickup online, especially if I'm arriving late at night. Yandex was the car-hailing app I used in Armenia, which I believe will work in Georgia as well.

    The main place I remember being ripped off by a taxi was, funnily enough, Vancouver! But I much prefer getting the bus or train over a taxi, for the same reasons you give. You know where you stand, you're not going to go the wrong place, and, on top of that, there are usually a reasonable number of people around and if someone tries to take advantage of the clueless foreigner, someone else will often step in and stop it.

    Hi Gabriel, the first thing that strikes me about Tbilisi is it's a diverse city. The world is changing for those who want something different in terms of where and how they want to live. This trend will continue because people seem to want to experience something else than what they have around them. So culturally we will see this mingling of the masses that will invoke a fusion of innovative ideas. That's what traveling will do, allowing us to embrace a world you couldn't expect otherwise an intense stimulus.

    Very nice city, but I wouldn't categorize it as cheap a destination unless you compare it to the US, Scandinavia or Australia and so. It's sad to see how the cost of living is rising tremendously across Europe. I'm from Albania and personally I think that part of the world (the mediterranean, the balkans and the surrounding countries) brings together the best climate, cuisine and culture but decided to settle at south-east Asia at the moment where life is much more affordable. But I hope to go back to a mediterranean country one day when the cost of living will be reasonable just as it was a few years back.

    just a suggestion as you always show internet speed at the beginning why don't ya show us exchange rate for each country you visit

    • @GabrielTravelerVideos
      @GabrielTravelerVideos  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes I mention the exchange rate in my "how expensive" videos, but the thing with exchange rates is they change constantly, so aren't necessarily relevant for someone watching a few months or years after I've posted the video.

    • @GabrielTravelerVideos

      They didn't ask me about how much money I had, so I don't think it matters.

      It can cause your video to be flagged for including copyrighted music.

    I use Davinci resolve and use the voice isolation feature to cut out background noise to filter out copyrighted music, wi d noise, street noise, etc. what editor do you use?

    • @GabrielTravelerVideos
      @GabrielTravelerVideos  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use Videopad. I have a foam contraption that covers my camera to filter out wind noise, which is the most important thing. Fortunately music isn't an issue very often.

    Inflation is a global phenomenon, people forget. I would be curious to know why the taxi driver did not drop you at your hotel instead of somewhere in the city?

    • @GabrielTravelerVideos
      @GabrielTravelerVideos  ปีที่แล้ว

      I could see on my phone that we were a few minutes away, so I told him to drop me off there, rather than wait for him to figure it out since those narrow streets can be confusing.
