@@BeantownToBigD I have to agree, in general. It makes much more sense to keep those delicate Gibsons in their cases. But I think the argument can be made that putting them on one of these swinging stands is better than putting them on a traditional guitar stand where the bottom rests on 2 points in a little open cradle. Both seem to be the kind of stands that are easy to tip over or from which guitars are more likely to fall. The swinging stand might be a little more secure overall because it allows the guitar to move and recenter itself. But yes, I don’t think I would want to leave my Gibson in any kind of stand or hanger for longer than I needed to
The holy explorer always reminds me of king gizzard. Saw them live after they released Infest the Rats Nest, and Stu MacKenzie used that guitar extensively for the songs off that album. Really cool guitar IMO
@TheTrogly'sGuitar Show You should include the measurement of the bridge if it is still straight or collapsed. I think this is mostly overlooked with old/vintage gibson hardware.
Whenever I have used packing peanuts I put them in a couple plastic bags and tie them shut before putting it in the box. That way they don't move as much in shipping and it's easy for the next guy to clean up.
The guitar stand is outstanding in terms of creativity and workmanship, whoever made them did a stellar job, well done. I really thought the “ Holey V” was awesome. I’m really looking forward to the review and demo. Looks like you made some good buys from the auction and I was happy to see that, other than some tuner buttons falling off, they all arrived undamaged. I’m sure it was a close thing especially after the LP’s were packed so stupidly. Cheers Trogly.
Anyone else notice that the Union Flag is upside down on the Union Jack Explorer. An upside down Union Flag is a distress sign. Was someone at Gibson in distress LOL🤪🤪 Had a look on the internet all the ones I can find on it have the flag on the right way, wonder if this is the only one with that mistake and does that make it more valuable?
I like all your estate guitars and you just can't regret purchacing all those rarities! I love your holey pair!! Great conversation pieces! Your the boss Trogs!!! Love your show!
Nice explorers! I just got my 1st explorer, one of those 80's reissues that just came out..... I'm a total les paul guy, but man I love the explorer! I wish I would've gotten one years ago!
I just bought a Epiphone Tony Iommi G-400, and it arrived packed with both bubblewrap and packing peanuts throughout the box. It arrived in great shape, even though they didn't slacken the stings prior to shipping, but man, that was an Unboxing mess. I feel your pain.
I'm so glad you mention it sound diffrent. So, besides the look, there's something diffrent about it. I'm a Gary Moore fans and Metallica too. Just don't get it why it's leaning towards Kirk this day? Gary Moore was the one who made the story of this guitar so interesting, Kirk just own it for several years, and he is more famous on his V 😊
Buying up all the Union Jack Explorers for the Coronation? (Would have been fun if Charles got the “Royal Axe” and just busted out the solo from “Killer Queen.”
I tried everything to make a set of Peter Green humbuckers. Until I read in a youtube comment that one of the bobbins was underwound. So I did that, and it worked. Flipping the humbucker or the wiring doesn't work.
I bought the unaged greeny one great guitar and sounds great. Custom shop and Tom Murphy can keep their trashed up aged ones for 10 and twenty times the price of a new one. Rediculas].
How about a Holy Flying V Bass by Gibson?👍 Now I would buy💰 one of those if Gibson even made one. Even Short Scale.👍 With case. 😱Now that would be something to own. 🤩Would go good with 1992 Gibson cherry LPB-1. And my Gibson 1973 Les Paul Triumph Bass. Whoa dreaming💭 again...... But those are real great looking guitars. Both and I bet lite also. And knowing me I could see me Breaking some part of those wooden cut out end either one with my luck. Strap button pull out.... Fall off stand.... Let wrong friend play... Your old lady sits on it because you pay more addition to it then you do her.... Or Just dumb luck. ✌️😎
Are the Hole-y models lighter weight than their fully-solid counterparts? Furthermore, Trogly, are you burned out as much over the Peter Green LPs as I am over seeing the Adam Jones Silverburst?
I'll take the stands the viewer made all day!! He's right you can make them cheaper and as good or better!!!! Kinda sounds familiar doesn't it!!!! I would like to get a couple!!!!
I’ve never noticed before that the “Union Jack” on the explorer is showing as “incorrectly flown” The white stripes bordering the vertical and horizontal lines should be symmetrical The white stripes bordering the diagonal stripes should, if a cloth flag is conventionally fitted with the pole on the left, should have the thicker white stripes on the “clockwise” sides of the red diagonal stripes. Looks like Gibson couldn’t make up their minds 😂 (Yes I know it’s a guitar…)
Did you pay your invoice on the account? After that you have to email them. If you've done that - I don't have any other suggestions unfortunately. These all shipped out within 5 days of auction close
Hey there Trogly, love the show, I saw an odd Les Paul and can not find anything on it so I thought I would ask you , have you seen the Bee Gees video for "Jive Talkin" in it Barry Gibb plays a LP that has pick guards on both side of the guitar, full sized regular LP style pick guards, what Les Paul is this ? Is this a factory mod or a personal mod, I have seen ES 335-355's with this type of double pick guard, are you familiar with this ? Let me know if possible what LP this is , thank you and Keep up the great show. E.L.
Would have loved to be a fly on the wall when a guitar exec said "I have an idea, let's make a guitar, beat the hell out of it, and then sell it for 400% more money!
10:38 - no offense, but based on the the previous videos we’ve witnessed, I think the “buyer” should take the guitar to an actual luthier/repair shop. I can appreciate your tear down videos, but it seems each time you perform work on a guitar, the project goes awry, and you claim that your work is completed to the highest quality possible due to an existing flaw with the instrument. From scratching the finish off the but if a brand new Gibson because you thought the finish would “peel off over time”, to the restoration project, to the vintage arch top you chose to tackle for the first time, I would let the owner handle the improvements themselves. Now, do a detailed tear down of a 57 Custom Reissue!!!

What amp do you use for your guitar demos? It sounds great.
Those fan made Zither stands are fantastic…I think he nailed it 👍
Or bolted it….okay bye! 😊
What you did there… I see it .. 😂
Never understood why someone would hang a Gibson which is prone to neck breaks and nitro belmishes

Cecil crushed it. Awesome guitar stands!

the fan's stand is superior because you need weight in the base for stability

Excellent guitar stand, love those Union Jack Explorers too!

Into the air I raise a pint of Stella, for Cecil the artisan who is indeed a fine fella !!
Cheers to Cecil for the stands 👍
Yeah, kudos to the fan that made those stands, very nice!
Perhaps you could do a video on your vast collection of bubble wrap and maybe a separate one on the peanuts.

Good score on the Holey guitars.
I used to work with the woman who painted that Union Jack!
I was at the Dallas guitar festival last year and I saw a guy with a cart with what must’ve been 8 holey explorers.

Rubbish
Austin, please do videos on the clean ups. Even if they’re sped up!
Agreed!
How cool is that electronics cavity on the SIDE of the V that’s awesome!!
If that 2nd explorer is a bit neck heavy due to all the "weight relief", we need Trogly to play "Holy Diver" as part of the review and demo...
Your new guitar stands are great!!! Far better than the Gibson version 🤘🎸🙏very cool
darn those trogly guitar stands got hot merch written all over them
No Moore Greeny Hammy Sandwiches - horse flogged dead 🐴

How much for the Union Jack Explorer?
Bonus job Austin,British players are the union jack needed customers.

That spot on the top that's blue and not yellowed because the sun didn't hit it there, sun causes lacquer to yellow, ultra Violet .
"Só Austin, how many Union Jack explorers do you have?"
Austin: Yes.

We use to call packing peanuts “Ghost Crap!”
Haha we call it “Oh F$&k.”
re: custom guitar tree: bolts are stronger than screws. good work.
Biggest sucker magnet ever is the Greeny...IMHO
Those Union Jack Explorers are pretty cool.
I’ve never noticed before that the “Union Jack” on the explorer is showing as “incorrectly flown”
The white stripes bordering the vertical and horizontal lines should be symmetrical
The white stripes bordering the diagonal stripes should, if a cloth flag is conventionally fitted with the pole on the left, should have the thicker white stripes on the “clockwise” sides of the red diagonal stripes.
Looks like Gibson couldn’t make up their minds 😂
(Yes I know it’s a guitar…)
You're right; they made a mess of it.
Shame Epiphone never went with the holy concept and applied it to a Joe Pass Emperor made from mountain ash.
Then it would be a holy rowan emperor...
I guess Gibson made alot of Schlock items over the years , those Holey explorers and flying Vs are hideous.
The relic-ing on that Hammett Les Paul (it stopped being Greenie the second his cheque cleared IMHO) looks terrible.
what does it weigh and does it sustain much the holey explorer ?
Never saw stands like that..cool. What about cutting holes in a Les Paul ?.. 🤣
I really like the VEE. Awesome guitar stands.
Being constantly reminded of how Gary Moore desecrated Greeny would be something I couldn’t bear.
Tom Murphy DID age each one of the 50 limited edition Greeny LPs himself.
thanks for another great video. can't wait for the next trade tuesday.
Another Jack. You absolute madman.
Spoiler alert: Inside was a singing frog 🐸
🎶 Hello, my baby
Hello, my honey
Hello, my ragtime gal🎶
Cool, that they are rare, but I don't think I'd like to have any of them, or maybe my gear acquisition is cured lol
Stands look great!
The Explorers look awesome!
Strum the holy v from behind!
Mold on the cases?
I like the holy explorer..Pretty cool design.
Absolutely love the holy v and explorer
Man, I thought you said you weren't going to buy that Explorer! lol
Trog how have you already recieved all of your packages? I bought one item and haven’t heard anything since the auction ended.

The holy Flying V also has 24 frets
This is like deja vu all over again!!!!
Another Union Jack? Is Trogly joining Def Leppard?
Yes
Epiphone Greeny ahead.
Sweet guitar stands

Howdy all!!
Before the pandemic I met a guy in a guitar shop who told me he makes 8K a month flipping guitars.
Did you go into business? Thought not.
Could he make one for me too. I'd love to have one with Guns N Roses. On it.

Marshall Bluesbreaker reissue
Wallmart
it's a shame the guy had so many guitars that he couldn't give them the attention they needed and had them stored poorly
If the holy v had a single v pickup😮
What’s ironic is the fact that the “holey” guitars look very very unholy.
That's not ironic in any way shape or form.
