@@pratyulmusic I just tested the Kross 1 (new videos coming soon). I like both the MX61 and the kross, considering the "low-cost" machines. Each has great features and some weak point...

Ciao, I had this instrument in my studio just for few days so I had no chance to explore all features... But I think you can make it with the full PC editor...
I absolutely love the string sections on the MX/Motif synths. But literally every string patch has vibrato programmed in. i wish Yamaha would have just left the vibrato to the user to add or control.
Ciao Marco,.... Cordiali saluti.
When pressing on the sustain pedal, do sounds fade out or is it more of a 'hold'? This is one of the problems with the Casio CT-S500. It's just 'hold'. Also, once the pedal is plugged it, it's 'hold'. Press down on the pedal to turn it off. So it's bass-ackwards. Also, can you program your own delay effects? I searched the manual for 'delay'. Nothing.
ciao, thanks for comment! the sustain pedal is always a "hold". the fade effects depends on poliphony (I guess). here you can see that with strings and synths I used the pedal and notes are fading... if the pedal works in the way you described, there is the inverted polarity. maybe your pedal has a switch in order to change that, or the instruments itself has a parameter to be adjusted ("dumper" or "sustain" polarity) in the "controller menu"
Does this synth allow you to store a split of two sounds? For example, if I wanted to have strings on the left side and saxophone on the right side of middle C, AND of course, I would want to transpose each side as needed (so neither side isn't scaled too low or too high).
Ciao, I do not have this instrument in my studio now... as I can remember, everything could be managed with the pc editor, including split, layer, ecc.
@@TheRockRoomPhilZuckerman While you can definitely do splits, I've never been able to figure out how to octave-shift each side of a split. Yes, I can do it globally, but not for each side. That would be a huge benefit to me. I have the MX61 as my top tier keyboard; upgraded from an MX49.
Great video! I also have a question. I hope it's not a silly one, but does the Yamaha MX61 also have an option the edit and create your own brass or string sounds, for exemple more or less vibrato and such? Or does it only have pre-made sounds?
Ciao! I do not have the instrument at the moment... I know that everything could be edited with the pc editor (and directly on the instrument too). The user manual was not helpful?
ciao, thanks for comment! there are some "atmospheric" pads, all is "basic" but you can edit with the pc editor. I don't know if you'll find exactly what you need, but everything sounds pretty good on this entry level machine... (I do not own this instrument, so I cannot make test at the moment)
It would be nice to see ONE NOTE at a time. The cords sound "full', but most of my playing is "simple" (but effective): 1 note, or the 1 and 3 or 1 and 5, or octave. Too bad we can't hear that.

I just used presets, so I'm not able to answer. There is a complete pc editor for all presets/users tone editing and data backup. There should also be a "write protect" flag in order to avoid data loss.
@@marcoballa Is it also possible to do more than two layers on the device itself? Maybe like setting the MIDI channel to 1 for the first four parts... If there is such a submenu.
