Thank you for a very well balanced and fair video. This is insightful and I agree with your grievances, especially with the dust on the car right out of the box, the warped machine gun covers and the 3M tape fix for the hub cap logos. I am waiting on my order to be shipped and I will be complaining if my Batmobile is having these issues.
As I recall, the Zip ties under the car are a new addition for the production run. The test batch car had straps (velcro maybe?) that strapped the car down from above, then through and under the styrofoam, and there was some concern that the straps may have damaged the top of the cars, so they switched to securing the car from below with zip ties. That's probably why the top has more padding than you remember as well.
Thanks for opening my eyes man. I canceled the pre order even though it hurt. There’s just too many little things wrong that I would’ve been irritated about in the long run.
I ended up cancelling my order. I remember when I grabbed the 2022 from Jazz and I felt underwhelmed for the 1900 price. After watching your review, along with BC and others, I can’t commit that much money even for a large replica. It has to be close to immaculate for the price of a used car. Appreciate your prospective.
When Jazzinc was all done "in house", their work was amazing. Now they are growing so big, the production has shifted to China, and the quality control has been very lax.
THANK YOU very much for your sincere and direct opinion about this vehicle and what it is on its own and everything that come with it, is good to see that no matter how much one can be a fan of a character/vehicle or been waiting for it, a honest and direct review is still possible and is not "hold back" to avoid a particular fan base (of any specific brands or products) backlash in the social media universe. As a personal note, I have reworked/repainted/detailed several Hot Toys 1989 Batmobiles in the past for fellow collectors friends, is the Hot Toys is perfect???..no, it is not, but it does have a LOT of potential with some rework, repaint and added detail to be even more impressive than already is, sadly for personal reasons I have not been able to buy one for myself and rework it for my own collection but hope to do so one day, why I say this???....because some people in the community have said literally "you are stupid wasting your time reworking that underscale thing"...and that comment is one of the more polite ones!!!....do I care what they think? No I don't, to each its own and everyone have a right to a personal opinion. Once more THANK you for this sincere video and review.
I had this pre-ordered for well over a year and was beyond excited for it, but I ended up cancelling my order last week before even seeing this video. The paint jobs other people were receiving along with the body panel issues are just unacceptable for a high end collectible that was going to cost over $2000 shipped. I'm disappointed that I won't have an accurate 1/6 '89 Batmobile for my collection, but I just couldn't justify it after seeing all the potential issues and the last thing I want to deal with is trying to ship something like this back for a replacement or refund.
I have the 66 and the 22. They both have some paint issues. I do love them but at the end of the day I was left feeling some regret. For the prices these things cost we as customers should be completely satisfied.
I agree with a lot of your conclusions. This was an ambitious project and perhaps some of the extra doodads cost us things that are more important. The main problem is that by the time some of the flaws were identified, it was too late to do anything about them. As you said, the car was already in production. Regardless, I'm grateful to have the opportunity to add this Batmobile to my collection. For me it's an amazing piece and well worth the price.
Sorry to see this happened to you and others. I’d say my HT ‘89 Batmobile 1/6 should’ve been $800 while I also paid over another $400+ for HT Batman ‘89 1/6 DX figure. That canopy on your Jazzinc ‘89 is kinda loose. Jazzinc might’ve rushed the paint job and other things on the car to meet deadlines. And I’ve seen more plastic straps or tie ons on HT and DC Direct figures to undo.
Totally agree with the last 11 minutes....cheers BEST always!!!!!!!! BTW I purchase the 1966 deluxe Batmobile, I was lucky, no problem. But that was my first & last purchase,
I’m shocked the car arrived covered in dust and the paint has scratches and scuffs. Can they be polished out? I got my 95 and it was perfect. My waitlist just converted for the 89 and it owns the Hot Toys hands-down. I hear you though about value for the money being subjective. To me it’s worth it. It’s superior to Hot Toys but scratches and scuffs and covered in dust that is really surprising and warped gun covers hopefully Joost can send you those replacement panels because those are unacceptable.
I have the Hot Toys one and even though it's inferior in accuracy the issues with the Jazz one isn't worth the extra money. For a dust collector the Hot Toys is adequate.
Reading some of the comments i have to say that I totally agree with them and the fact that Jazz should never allow non of the defects you showed here. I love the car but unacceptable is to send a product to a costumer with issues. I'd be disappointed af. Almost forgot to say that i don't car the Batmobile cost even 2k i want 100% of what i expected.
Great video. Thanks for the transparency. Amazing a company puts out a final product that comes out of the box like this. The price point and QC issues keeps me away from this company.
Jazzinc is having some serious issues with manufacturing and production. It's not about buyers being too picky, it's about Jazz's products being far too inconsistent in execution. This is all too reminiscent of the '66 Batmobile where they had a number of defective cars sent out, came back as returns, which they then resold as discounted b-grade stock. There should never be any b-stock leaving the shop and shipping out, because buyers are not beta-testers. There's something really wrong with their end point and they need to take a step back to fix that process, rather than being so hasty with shipping out defective products.
It amazes me how people spend the money and defend the issues as if they got it for free. We are paying hard earned money and have a right to hold companies to a certain standard and to me the more we pay the higher the standards.
@@TheHistrionics they cut grooves in the rear trunk line over the hinges on the 66 to stop the trunk from popping open ... That ruined the lines of the trunk, then they said everyone gets a Dremel gouged body and smiled at the shocked customers saying theyre all like that now. Who does that? Who fucking does that to their customers paying $1500?
Thanks for this. I was going to sell my hot toys first gen and it's not perfect of course but you just saved me a lot of money and in Canada guaranteed shipping would destroy it
Good video! Its clear to see your frustration on this and is very valid. Having issues even on the replacement and getting 3m tape as a solution for the logos is not a good thing in my opinion. I had this paid off for a long time anxiously awaiting for it to be shipped and I tried to be open minded after the whole test batch issues, but after seeing how it ended up being after the “fixes” I just had to cancel it, specifically when Joost said I could get my NRD as well. I knew I was going to be upset if I got it the way it is. It’s a shame cause it had so much potential to be great. But those issues for that cost? Sorry not for me.
I was in the 2nd batch for this car. I had already had it fully paid but then when I started seeing issues I pulled out. I have the 1966 batmobile from them and your dead on about the paint issues. It just not worth the $1499 you pay plus the shipping. I would rather get a Prime 1statue for the same price where you know the quality will be top notch so I got the Hot Toys Batmobile form my local retailer.
I love this guy's review on this car because he is 100 percent right. First of all, the machine gun covers should be flush with the body of the car. There is no reason why with today's technology that a vehicle which costs $1,500 should have a problem where the gun covers don't fit the way they are supposed to. Also why are the hubcaps copper. This car is supposed to be screen accurate and I don't recall the rims being copper in Batman or Batman Returns. They should have been painted black to match the rest of the car and the bat emblems not sticking to the center of the rim is inexcusable. What they should have did was laser cut a hole in the center of the rim. Along with the bat emblems being magnetic there should have been a rod attached to the back of the bat emblem. That rod would have gone into the center hole of the rim and between the rod and bat emblem being magnetic you would never have to worry about them coming off.
just saw your older video comparison those panels were def more flushed what the hell they replace could have just sent you 3m paint and some money back lol. this replacement looks crazy came from Temu or sum thing with. thanks Ryan keeping it 100
It’s about time someone on TH-cam is honest about Jazz Inc. “Cult of Jazz Inc” is correct. All of these TH-camrs, present company excluded, are promoters not reviewers. Wether they are paid or not, Jazz Inc was brilliant in befriending these TH-camrs because now they defend him at all cost. Anytime a guest on a TH-camrs show says anything negative about Jazz Inc, you can see the TH-camrs body and tone change. We will never know the full truth about their “special relationship “
You made some solid objective points in the end dude. I went in on the catwoman and this review is really making me feel like I made a poor decision. Might have to eat the loss and cancel the PO. Plus I know hot toys will drop catwoman soon based on all the drops they are making.
I was interested in the catwoman but I passed that entirely separate video. There’s to many SKUs and it’s ballsy to charge Inart pricing for a figure we have no idea what the final quality is going to be
Mine... batch 1, didn't have the dust issue. Makes you wonder what happened to have that much on it. I did have some dents on the box, but no other issues. The gun covers on mine are flush. I do agree about the 3m tape for the emblems. I'm happy how mine showed up and having had the Hot Toys one I'm extremely happy with it.
Think you hit it right on the nose with one sentence. Before going into more gimmicky add ons. It becomes inexcusable to develop a product and green light production before you sort out the most basic of issues. When you allocate R&D to these would be nice features but can’t execute the overall product necessities. That is rough. The basics HAVE got to work flawlessly and in a premium manner. But he had no choice because the car was already in production and the things weren’t fixed. Might also be the issue of having R&D in one country and manufacturing in another. Can’t get eyes and hands on it
@@WWPearlMS6 that’s exactly it……..Joost wasn’t going to eat it on this production. It’s a shame that some of these minutiae issues even made it through. Hopefully mine turns out ok…?
I didn’t bother to reach out I’m just over it at this point I’m. It’s like a bad relationship that just needs a break and move on. I’m sure there are those who will criticize me for that it’s ok
Nah he commented and made posted on a 90s message board instead lol 😂 he made a speech about low return rates, the long waitlist, how shipping issues happen, blah blah blah and he also said nobody really cares about what I have to say lol or something along those. I have the screenshots wish I could upload them here
Someone had the balls to say the truth. Yeah JazzInc is now taking a beating for this 89 debacle. I won't trust them with more of my money. If you can put out defects and band aid them then scream with a smile take it or leave it then we pretty much have to start leaving it. The 89 is likely my last purchase from them as well.
I so understand when you think 🤔 the grass is greener on the other side & it's not once 🔂 you get to the other side. Everyone thinking 💬 the Jazz Inc was going to be so much better than the Hot Toys 🔥! I still will be getting the Jazz Inc 1989 Batmobile 🦇 I guess I just like the larger size & the different clarity's that the Jazz Inc has to offer over the Hot Toys🔥! But you are so right on everything you said 💯 especially when you are paying a total of $1800 on toy🧸!!??? Come on $1500 is bad enough then you spend a extra $300 for shipping 🚢⚓ & handling.? When you pay that much for shipping you definitely 😁 expect no hassle when you receive your product 🙏, like extreme dust 😞. Cause I could of swore when you pay for shipping ⚓🚢 & handling it's for protection of your product & to be sent to you with no problems whatsoever specially for $300!???
This is very disappointing. I'm glad I canceled my order. For the price tag of this vehicle, it's concerning that you don't know in what condition you'll receive it.
I agree with comments around the gun panels sitting flush, this isn't hard to get right. Jazzinc should fix this quality issue on this if they go to the effort of installing the guns. They could have glued the logos on the wheels if the magnets failed provided it wouldn't affect paint job around it... I think the book with the interviews, the remote control and the lights/smoke effect are absolutely beautiful additions. Llusz hot toys is a dwarf version of accurate scale. What's stupidly gimmicky is sound effects from the movie and a loud spinning turbine, I agree there. Ultimately, 2 areas that could've lacked or not been touched in order to fix the wheel logos (etc) or more time on QA control. Be glad you don't own the 1966 mobile as something tells me you would bash that project and final product to death, lol.. I criticise the products like you, but I also understand the risk Jazzinc are taking. Most really don't care about the upfront prototype, I like the fact he takes his buyers and community on a journey, asking for votes and getting constant video updates then we are shaping the final product. Hot toys would never do this. They are the worst with any form of community engagement. You are probably better off with this being your first and last Jazzinc vehicles as you fundamentally value different things to a lot of others, even though I agree with a lot of your sentiments. It is also true there are people on the community group that defend the company rigerously regardless of output and dont realise this vehicle is more than double the cost of the next best.. it helps that the owner is personally invested and a fan himself or we wouldn't get anything as close to screen accurate as we have. I don't have mine in hand to comment on the final paint job, so hard to comment there. But I'd focus on your 89 hobb my and just exclude Jazzinc from consideration.
So I’m getting my Batmobile at the end of November. I wanted something more accurate and with more bells and whistles than the hot version. From what I’ve seen, this accomplishes that I know it’s not gonna be perfect, but based on this video, I don’t regret my decision. I want to ask you based on your experience will you ever order from jazz again? are you soured on the whole thing now¿
Based on the entire experience from start to finished I don’t see myself buying another product anytime soon. I don’t personally see the value of what is being charged. And every product seems to have something wrong. I have higher standards when I pay more for products that’s just me
i recently ordered one from batch 4b...i wonder how it will be...and why don't they use rubber lab gloves to pack the cars like how hard is that...and if it's that dusty you can't even tell that easy if there are paint issues upon unpacking
I received a “test” vehicle which was slightly ahead of the first batch. The car had issues and was offered a replacement and I was allowed to keep the test vehicle so I am in possession of 2 cars to keep.
Great video mate! Sorry to see the replacement came in in such a bad shape! The dust is strange how it literally coated the whole car! It still looks stunning though and I'm super jealous 😅 Just been looking at getting the Hot Toys one but shipping is the cost of whole figure! 😅 Thanks for sharing your views 🙌🏻
Thank you so much brother! Im not denying for sure there's presence on this one but I was taken back I must say when I opened it up the second time around.
Curious when you got the test version did it come shipped FedEx and did you get a charge for customs or any kind of extra fees if so how much was it .let me know at your convenience thanks
The test version I was offered a few different shipping options and I picked the fasted which was like $305 if I remember via air freight, when it hit the US it was handed over to fedex but I didnt get any extra fees. The replacement was shipped free of course but it was shipped the slower method which was my water and was like 5-6 weeks.
What a joke. I’m so glad I stuck with Hot Toys 89 Batmobile. $1,500.00 HA! 3M tape Jazzinc can go 🖕 themselves. Sorry you had to deal with this. I’m curious how Catwoman is going to turn out now.
Inexcusable for the money that is being paid for this…..it almost seems like you got a used product from someone else they kept the new one and you got an old one so to speak..why do you need zip ties for something that is packed in a foam molded clam shell secured with Velcro straps? Completely wrapped in plastic but is covered in dust…WTH
Wow!..Just saw your post and that’s so unfortunate…just received my all the way to New Zealand & unboxed but is flawless including box state, lighting PCB checks and paintwork. Feel really bad for you mate but am sure Joost will take care of all for you. Just also unboxed the SnowSpeeder after house move & is also great. So sorry to hear!😳
@mr.momcollectibles that's what I'm saying. You find a guy you paints hot rods near you. He will block sand it properly and use semi gloss clear over black. It will totally be worth it.
I'd be furious too. Sounds alot like a rip off to me. Regarding the dust... imagine taking delivery of a real car and it was covered in dust! It wouldn't be acceptable.
Absolutely disgraceful being shipped out like this. I feel for you there mate. Joost is the boss of Jazzinc so i reckon he needs to go to that factory himself & put his foot down with a firm hand to get these cars cleaned & polished before packing & make sure after paint anyone handling them wears protective gloves !!! I thought there was a quality control team from the Netherlands sent out there ? If so i would sack them immediately & employ someone with excellent eyesight & knows how items like this need finishing, cleaning & packing . Should never leave the factory in this condition, simple as that. If too many of these make it to shipping in this state it will be bad, bad news for Jazzinc I'm sure. Nobody wants to receive a, dusty, scratched, paint smudged, finger printed 1989 batmobile. So it needs fixing & fixing fast !!!!
This is ridiculous for the price they are charging. Hot Toys is less accurate and whatever but it's cheaper and does not have as much issues as this. And what's up with all the dust
Setting aside the discussion on whether or not you should have to do it in the first place, and not having tried it out myself, I would think that the warped gun covers could probably be fixed very easily. I would set up a heat gun, have the heat gun blow on the BOTTOM SIDE of those covers, right in the center, and heat up the center part of those covers moving them left and right slowly so you don't overheat one spot and damage it, and hold each end of the cover in your hand and GENTLY bend it in the necessary direction as you are heating it up. I'm assuming you can figure it out without me explaining any further. We're only talking about a very small amount of bend necessary. The concern I would have about the "dust" is that I doubt that is just generic "dust"...it looks like that is probably sanding dust. It's the primer or filler that is put on the body and sanded down before it's painted. They should be doing the priming and sanding in a separate room because it creates A TON of dust, and if that dust isn't cleaned off the car completely before it's painted, that is going to be bad news for the paint job. It being all over the finished car suggests that they aren't doing a good job of separating each step of manufacturing...like maybe they are packaging up the finished cars in the same room they are sanding the bodies, or maybe the same people who are sanding the bodies rotate to packaging and get the dust that is all over their clothes and bodies on the cars as they are being packaged for shipping. And that looks like what the "paint smudge" actually is that you pointed out on the driver's side rear fender. It was hard to tell for sure from the footage because you didn't get a really clear camera shot of it, but those don't look like "paint smudges" to me, they look like sanding marks. UNDERNEATH the paint. As a "car guy", people have to understand that painting a car in black paint is one of the most difficult and time-consuming things imaginable. EVERY SINGLE imperfection in the car's bodywork is going to end up being visible in the paint if you don't fix it before painting. Every single dent or ding that isn't properly filled and sanded and every single sanding mark. You have to start out with aggressive sandpaper to remove the high spots in the primer/filler, then you gradually work your way up to higher and higher grit sandpaper to remove the sanding marks from the lower grit paper you used to knock down the high spots. The body prep for a paint job...ESPECIALLY a black paint job...is FAR more important and time-consuming than actually painting the car. JazzInc could be running into diminishing returns here. At some point, you can't have someone spending dozens and dozens of hours sanding and prepping the filler/primer on each $1,500 "toy" car unless you are either willing to make no money, or even LOSE money, on your product, or you raise the price of the product to cover the labor costs for all of the sanding and prep work necessary for a perfect paint job. At some point, they'll just have to call the prep work "good enough" and paint the car. That is why the Hot Toys version doesn't even look like it is painted to me. The "flat black" color on the Hot Toys car appears (to someone who has only seen it in pics and vids and never in person) to just be the actual base color of the black plastic that the body is made out of. That is a deliberate choice by Hot Toys to cut out hours and hours of labor costs by not having to prep/sand/paint the bodies. The color of the car is just the color of the plastic. Not trying to make any excuses for JazzInc...I've never bought anything from them before, and if my 89 Batmobile arrives from them next year and I'm unhappy with it, I'll just sell it and continue on with my life and never buy anything from them again...but I'm just giving some possible explanations for some of the things I see in your vid in case you or anyone else is interested.
I’m sure there is a way to fix the gun covers but I think the point to me is for the price tag it’s wild any of this should even have to be talked about that’s just me
Sorry about the out come for you ,but you do have a chance to replenish your funds by selling the test subject. As for your comment saying the car is only worth a extra $200 more the the HT version..that's debateble...Hope you find your ultimate 89 one day ...Catch ya!!!
Well… value is subjective right? We have an opinion of what we think something is worth. For me, I don’t see the $1500 value on Jazzinc but it is more then hot toys so that’s where I am
To be honest I really question the quality of what that figure is going to be. I think they bite off too much with too many SKUs and ridiculous price points
@@marwan80 that’s the issue because even Hot Toys teases prototypes that are professionally hand painted using the best materials then we get the final product in-hand and the factory paint apps are inferior and the quality of materials have been reduced to cut costs. This is why I no longer pre-order anything and wait to see in-hand reviews like Mr. Mom does before committing to purchasing. If it sells out I just get on the Waitlist. Very rarely have I had to pay more through secondary market because I missed out. Don’t give into FOMO because that is what the companies depend on for marketing and why we see items that are sold out on Sideshow yet magically manage to come back in stock because of “Warehouse Finds.”
The following is taken from Joosts initial reply on Collector freaks message board when this video was posted “Just to stick to the facts. I have not heard from him about this, but if he would've contacted me, I would've send out new covers or a whole new car (at out expense). Almost 200 have been delivered and no one has complained of dust or the covers not fitting. Don't take my word. Check the groups and forums. Ask around who had dust and bad fitting covers like him. So far we have around 1-2% issues after shipping and we are addressing them. Some of those customers received packages that were handled like a football at the superbowl, so all we can do is fix and issues (for free of course) and file a claim with the shipping company afterwards. All in all it is well within the industry standard, but apparently this is getting blown out of proportion and he was more interested in outrage, clickbait and views than getting this fixed. There are many positive reviews and pictures of happy customers out there to counter this bad one. And with regard to issues, we do all we can to prevent them (cause who needs this), but it's inevitable if you ship out hundreds of products of this size and weight and complexity that you will have some. It's how you handle them that counts and our customer service reputation speaks for itself.”
Sanding dust. Joost commented that during the test batches they thought sanding dust was getting trapped in the turbine, preventing it from working. Supposedly they were going to take additional steps to blow out the dust. I can’t imagine a factory worker packaging a dusty vehicle like that. My guess is the sanding dust was shaken loose during shipping.
been thinking about it if you see those promo pic with batman fighting joker they must have been photoshopped because the car you would have seen those dents if what he is saying true. I think his factory in china can’t do it and made an excuse because the car did not looks like that so someone lying hiding. yes people defending him like there pops. Would you go buy a new car or clothes with imperfections especially for the price
Honestly that sucks. At that price point everything has to be better. I understand they're a small company but that doesn't mean there's no quality control. The first 10 minute already disgusted me. How can a brand new collectable be this dusty? The only thing I like about this 1989 Batmobile is the size of this thing, trying to make an accurate 1/6 batmobile. But then, lots of other things sucks.
Since owning both the hot toys and the jazz Inc. vehicles, the only accurate thing that many have seem to care about from my experience seeing comments online are the size differences. People don’t really seem to care how many treads are on the tires or little knickknacks, and things like that that you have to really go looking for them. Ultimately, I think if hot toys would have made their Batmobile larger and left everything else as is people would have been a lot more satisfied.
@@mr.momcollectibles Exactly. I don't have either batmobile so I wouldn't have chance to look into the tiny details. (maybe focusing on the size of the jazz inc one is the propaganda that we viewers only need to focus on👀)
oh hell na. man the window are so scratched and swirls on paint not acceptable insane. this is bad. this is coming from china right not final from boost warehouse or something. wonder who’s is doing q/c. idk man about these figures as well seems are not clean
I get entirely where you're coming from if you're spending a certain amount of money on these vehicles I know things happen but you should have a much more better game plan when it comes to sending these pieces out because if you have to as a collector try and refix or do some tooling to make the item that you paid money for to be better that's somewhat appalling because that should already be fixed
I just left a comment the other day on Jazzinc’s Facebook in which I used the same word you did… It’s a “Cult”… It’s almost scary. And I’ve said it before and i’ll say it again, I have absolutely NOTHING against Joost, I think we are lucky to see new companies out there bringing some competition to the game. Also I don’t know Joost personally, but he seems to be a really nice guy. But it’s his fckn army of dck-riding yes men. As soon as Hot Toys announced the Batmissile the other day, a few minutes later people were saying “Jazzinc will do it, and they will do it so much better!!!” Really ? LOL I think most folks just try to convince themselves what they bought is better because they paid so much for it. But again, nothing personal against Joost. If he ever does the Tumbler, I might go for it. I MIGHT.
Yup I saw the same thing, people assuming he's making it when 2 months ago a poll a posted in his group by someone asking about the Batmissle and it was voted down as people didnt seem to want it. Also, we already know most like it will be more then double the price of the HT and for what? Its 1/3 of a car but somehow will still be at the 1500 price most likely will bells and whistles we dont need.
Not surprised at all, but when they say something the cult comes after them lol Joost can offer a replacement set but obviously its an issue now more than just a handful.
At one point prior to shipping the the thought of financial reimbursement was talked about but we couldn’t come to an agreeable amount so I opted to take the replacement vehicle. At this point I’m going to review both vehicles and part out to make the best version. I have no plans to seek anything further and prefer after those video to close the chapter on Jazzinc. This was a first time purchase and I was made fully aware of what to expect but as I mentioned nostalgia is a dangerous thing at times so I’m chalking this up to a life lesson and moving on.
Mine is coming into England being shipped in two parts apparently? Which I don’t quite understand. I paid in full over a year ago. And then shipping cost and a tax bill at 20% of the total cost of shipping and product. I’m very meticulous to detail and refinement and product quality and execution. This video doesn’t instil much confidence and if it comes like this a further investment will have to be made to put the wrongs right. I don’t want to have to repair, modify, adjust a product that has a price tag that this does. The higher the price tag the margin for error becomes less. Like a Kia vs Rolls Royce. Quality control has failed on yours if this is the case on every product of the 89 this is a sign of poor development & bench testing along with production and workmanship. You never ship a product until it’s just so and met criteria standards. But I will see what turns up. I’m not a fan boy I’m only a fan of well crafted objects with attention to detail. Do right or don’t bother.
Hi mate, I have just received mine delivered to England also, the 2 part delivery is for the car itself which is on a lorry & then the 2nd delivery was the signature plate on its own delivered by courier. I haven't had a chance to unbox mine yet but it did actually turn up looking in good shape so far as the outer box is concerned & i have removed that & the actual car box is in good shape !! I was dreading it turning up all beaten up from shipping. Looking forward to opening it up & see if all is good. Hope that helps.
I mean his vehicle want perfect because it had the model imperfections Adam and norm addressed on camera and had to make excuses for. Norm even went on to say he didnt mind the dents in the car as it gave it a real look...remember they got the car free for the review
I must say I was surprised they addressed the dents at all in their unboxing but then for them to make excuses and suggest it’s normal was very disappointing.
@@jeffhudgins312they didn’t make excuses. They explained the dimples. That is from plastic shrinkage for mold injection plastic cooling down. They are experts and know the manufacturing process and understand these are imperfections that come along with plastic mold injection.
The difference is all this was explained more as a reaction to the fact all this came out. If there was concerns on the body and the Joost could have came forth and explained this (if he did that's good) but from what I saw the body issues didn't come to light until after the reviews starting coming out as a reaction to everything.
The HT’s version isn’t even close to this……but I do agree on some of these issues with this car. It’s not perfect, but the HT’s version ain’t even close, color or scale👍
Hot Toys isn’t even painted just molded in black plastic and it looks like a toy. Jazzinc paint job nails it but the scuffs and scratches on his replacement are concerning if they can’t be polished out.
@@decadentdaveWatch the Danoby2 video from a year or so ago where he reviews the original release that one of his friends owns. The paint is scratched, confirming that it is indeed painted.
Real cars - the 1:1 ones that actually run and sit outside use 3M double stick tape for their emblems. Sure some have registration pins but a lot don’t. How is this a big deal?
I'm sure he will take care of you. But ya thats rough. My 22 was perfect and my snowspeeder but I would be pissed if they came like that and he didn't take care of you
I’ve bought many things from Jazzinc and every single item with the exception of my 95 Batmobile have had issues. Joost has always taken care of me every single time. He’s sent missing and broken parts and sent me a replacement Landspeeder when mine arrived beat to hell by Fedex with broken polystone pieces and a broken windshield. He will replace those panels if he asked him.
@@mr.momcollectibles Mr. Dust Collectibles, I see your 'dust' and raise you one 'polish.' Let's balance the scales. I'm reporting this for discrimination against cleanliness. Oppression in the name of Swiffer must end.
jazz inc is a greedy bastard , if the price is not right dont buy it glad i stick to the hot toys price is sensible , there no such thing as accurate , the only accurate is the real car from the movie period
@@patientmental875 , i have the hot toys one i hate custom , i hate when customer are not happy with what they get , paying a lot of money , jazz is a greedy bastard period
I just came across to your channel I have seen a couple more but not as much, good content btw, but please don’t get me wrong, but I just see clearly your frustration about it. So my question was “if jazzing Batmobile came pretty bad for him and he doesn’t really like their business model, which is custom vs mass production then why to buy it and own it from them?” Just to clarify I don’t own it and I won’t buy it I am okay with hottoys version. I understand your point about value vs delivery which is fair. But in my opinion is too much criticism to something you clearly didn’t liked it.
Joost should require the rejected car to be destroyed on video. Otherwise it could be sold to another collector who will post a video critique hehe The gun covers not being flush to the car is a major concern as that will be noticeable when displayed As to the complaint on dust, don’t be a Karen 😂 I do hope you don’t order anything from Jazzinc anymore. That way, you will never be disappointed again
Well I must say for someone who would pay $1500 and shipping to get something covered in dust like that to me it shows carelessness. Can it be cleaned of course I mean I have to make sure none of the intricate details don’t get messy but I think it’s more about the level of carelessness shown to me. I really have a hard time believing someone opening a car like the one I show and really be amazed at it but everyone has an opinion
Airduster can help . A swiffer as well ,but air dusters will get the dust easier from the hard to reach places . Can’t compare a mom & pops business with the biggest 1/6 manufacturer ,though . I think most of the Jazzinc customers know what they are paying for and are happy with it.
Unfortunately I don’t agree with the mom and pop phrase anymore. He has multiple licenses and this car was being produced in a facility in china which is assumed to be a bigger operation so Jazzinc isn’t a mom and pop anymore but they aren’t hot toys either
@@mr.momcollectibles there are tons of little manufacturers that have world licenses and are super small ( Asmus for example ). To compare a small manufacturer to the biggest one in the game ,is just not fair . Also, that biggest one is 1 avoiding making vehicles to begin with , 2 when it does ,is giving you molded plastic ,not metal with a real paint job ,3 doesn’t even follow scaling. The thing is ,what something is worth is really up to the customer ,for me many things are not worth their price , InArt Gandalf was not worth it to me ,i like my Crown Asmus one better . You have some legit criticism ,and i have issues with all of the cult mentality and brand loyalist in the community . But you are literally expecting from a small company to not only be much better than the biggest one ,somehow be cheaper ,and some miracles . Best would be ,if you are disappointed just not to be their customer ,like KeCo did with InArt . But the comparison is just not fair ,in this case ,imo.
@@mr.momcollectiblesAgreed. And there is no excuse for shoddy manufacturing and poor quality control, it doesn’t matter how big or small a company is. Like you, I wish Jazz Inc. the best but I’m moving on from them now.
Yeah Jazzinc has grown way beyond a “Mom & Pop” at this point. They have grown so big now they even leased a corporate office building headquarters like all corporations including Sideshow and Hot Toys. Joost has gone completely “Legit” now only manufacturing “licensed” items which are made in Chinese factories (like Hot Toys) and is no longer making “custom” unlicensed stuff like Star Wars because he doesn’t want to risk losing his other licenses. Joost is more of an overseer now of the entire process and managing his company like a CEO.
This is a bad review. Of course, it is a “bad review” in that it’s overall conclusion of the product is negative, and has too many flaws. But it is also a bad review in that the review itself is poor quality. While I disagree with some of your opinions, saying this is a bad review is NOT a criticism of your opinions themselves - just about how sloppily you presented them. You can improve in the future by some tighter editing. I understand that this was largely off-the cuff, but there are some cuts in this so it’s not purely a stream of consciousness rant. Next time, it would make a better review if you record your initial raw thoughts for yourself, then play it back and take notes on your own points for a final recording script to make sure you don’t miss anything and also, don’t harp on the same points over and over again. For example, yes your replacement Batmobile was very dusty and it made it difficult to tell at first what areas were just dust and what parts were genuine flaws in the paint finish. Yes, this is absolutely a valid negative point to bring up and clearly express in a review. Not criticizing the point, just criticizing the repeating of it over and over and over. Instead of 27 minutes, this video could have strongly and clearly expressed all the same points in 15 minutes or less. Now for the part that IS a criticism/disagreement of some of your opinions themselves and not just the review style. The zip ties in the packaging are tight and they were annoying for you to remove and made you nervous about too much pressure on the vehicle. Yes, they are tight, but that’s the whole point. If they were loose, the car would shuffle around more in the packaging and possibly sustain rubbing and more damage. The good news is that the *plastic* zip ties were attached to the *metal* wheel axels, so the chance that they could put too much pressure to the point that they could cause damage is virtually nil. You mention that you can’t think of a better solution to secure the car - I think a criticism without any better idea is unfair. “Hey this sucked” “OK what should I do better/differently?” “I have no idea, but not this. This sucked.” “OK….” Another opinion I disagreed with is that Joost should not decide what to make and what features to include based on the feedback of a small minority of his total follower count. You used the term “percent” but that is really the wrong way to look at it for two reasons. Reason #1: Let’s say 5% of Joost’s follower count expresses interest in a BTAS Batmobile, or a spinning turbine on the 1989 or some other “gimmick” that you don’t like. The way you mentioned it that he is acting based on the votes of a small percentage of his followers wanting something. It sets the implication that remaining percentage was against it, and that’s just not the case. Said another way, if Joost has 100,000 followers and he puts a poll out to see which vehicle he should make next, and 10,000 followers vote, does that mean the other 90,000 followers - the “majority” - want him NOT to make any more vehicles? Of course not. Reason #2 why the percentage is the wrong way to look at it - at a certain scale of customer base, a “small percentage” of the total customer base is still a very significant amount of customers at which point it actually makes very good sense to give them what they express interest in. Suppose Joost had 100,000,000 followers on his facebook group (extremely huge number yes, but just to make a point) - and “only 1%” of them expressed interest in him making a certain vehicle or feature available. He should absolutely go forward with it because ONE MILLION customers want it. Again, yes the number is extreme and I don’t think Joost is producing on that scale - but there is a certain point where it makes great sense to do what enough people (in absolute numbers) want, even if it is a tiny percentage of the total followers. And the opposite is true too - at a certain small scale base, it just would not be profitable to do what the majority wants at this price scale. Imagine if Joost only had 100 customers, and 99 of them -- 99 “percent”--, the overwhelming majority, wanted a certain vehicle produced at a certain price point. Even with that “percentage majority” it likely would not be economically feasible to make the product. He can’t make business decisions based on only percents, he has to decide based on when the absolute number meets whatever threshold is necessary for it to make sense.
You’ve made it abundantly clear that you think my review style is “sloppy” and “poor quality.” That’s your opinion, and you’re entitled to it, but it’s also dismissive of the time and effort I put into this. Sure, it wasn’t a perfectly scripted production, but it’s authentic, and many viewers value that. I don’t need to over-polish every video just to meet your personal standards of “tight editing.” Regarding your theory about the voting system, I respectfully disagree. Joost seems to rely heavily on decisions made by the closed Facebook group, which, in my opinion, creates a lack of accountability. It shifts responsibility onto customers rather than taking ownership of the process. For example, when a poll selected the Jedi Starfighter as the next product to develop, the response during preorders was underwhelming. Joost even addressed this in a video, calling out the members who voted but didn’t follow through. The problem lies in allowing anyone in the group to vote, including those who may never intend to purchase the product. This system skews results and isn’t a sound business model. For instance, the Animated Batmobile received only 400 votes from a group of 14,000 members, yet it was still greenlit. As a business owner, I wouldn’t invest in a product based on such a small sample size. Similarly, in September, a poll about the Batmissile showed that most members didn’t want it and preferred something else. Yet, because Hot Toys announced one, Joost may decide to revisit it. This approach feels inconsistent and impractical for sustainable decision-making in the long run.
@@mr.momcollectibles Yes he was disappointed with the low pre-orders for the Starfighter and I think that's a big part of the reason he's moving away from Star Wars products. But I believe Joost said that there must be a minimum threshold of pre-orders for him to follow through with the Starfighter. Same with the BTAS Batmobile (...and I'm sure that will be the case with the Batmissle if he makes it). He does not make a production run of the items *first*, then see if there are enough actual orders later. Like you mention in your video, Joost's customers rightly or wrongly, commit and pre-order items that don't even necessarily have an existing physical prototype yet in every case. He's clearly got to be making these things at a scale that makes profitable sense for him at the quantities that they're being actually pre-ordered, or his business would not be growing as it has been.
@@mr.momcollectibles "time and effort" you put into this review - you're having a laugh, right? You unboxed with one hand in a storage facility. It's poorly edited and (surprise surprise) doesn't show you actually unwrapping the model in that dusty, concrete-floored warehouse before revealing a dusty model. The cable tie is, you claim, broken - look, here's a broken cable tie that I show to you with my knife clearly there and no way of seeing it before hand, and a voiceover claiming they were a pain the ass. You then go on a 12 minute rant in the car park which shows you clearly just don't like Jazzinc, Jazzinc followers, the business model which asks its followers for their opinions, you call reviews "BS" from people who have received their models in perfect condition, and you just come across as an angry little man.
I do believe at the time of making the starfighter he didnt hit the minimum but was hoping once people started to see the project take shape more would jump on. Joost also seems bitter towards Hot Toys and frankly some of it to me is him wanting to do it because HT wont at this time.
Jazzinc strives for accuracy and fails at execution bottom line. I mean you seem content if you open your car covered in dust and warped components and paid $1800 guess you have low standards
Okay no disrespect, yes you have every right to complain. But I think you’re also ungrateful. You get to keep the test batch and you have the replacement and you’re going this hard at Jazzinc?? Listen I get it, step your QC issues up, but he also kind of looked out for you. The plates that go over the machine gun, I believe you can use a hair dryer so they will fit in place. Yes I get it, you shouldn’t have to and I do NOT advocate for Jazzinc, but bro you seem to be a little drama Queen with the complaints. No statue or vehicle is perfect, and I know we spend a lot of money, but I don’t take it from Jazzinc like they’re a F’ed up company. Just saying. I respect your opinion as you should have one, but your going in a little to much. I only bought the Batwing, and I was happy with it.
So I'm going to try and not sound to repetitive but I did say my opinion seem a little off because I am in possession of 2 cars. I would say I'm being ungrateful if I paid $0 for both cars. Also, not sure if you watched my other video but these are 3 months of opinions all bottled into 2 video vs the other youtube shills who have been stroking Jazzinc ego for months. Call me a drama queen? I dont care Im speaking up for those who feel the same way as me and frankly based on the comments I see Im not alone.
@ so did you pay for one or 2 cars. If you paid for one, then he looked out for you. I watched other videos you have made about other topics. Not trying to insult you, and I can respect your opinion, but it seems to have drama connected to them.
I would like to know why you think this is drama? I was offered a test sample vehicle that had issues. I paid 1500+305, a replacement car was offered to me the same as other youtubers btw and this is the review of the that very vehicle which is supped to be a final production run. So that being said if you watched this video and see nothing wrong thats ok. And yes I own 2 vehicles at the moment, 2 vehicles that in value make 1 good one in my opinion.
Appreciate your total honesty on the last two videos you've uploaded.
Thank you so much
Thank you for a very well balanced and fair video. This is insightful and I agree with your grievances, especially with the dust on the car right out of the box, the warped machine gun covers and the 3M tape fix for the hub cap logos. I am waiting on my order to be shipped and I will be complaining if my Batmobile is having these issues.
Only Jazz product I bought was the Vulture. Thought it was great. Haven't tried a vehicle but the issues are concerning.
@@Thesmartestmanalive81 did yourself a favor. Can you imagine the returns these eBay resellers are gonna get?
I ended up cancelling my order. I remember when I grabbed the 2022 from Jazz and I felt underwhelmed for the 1900 price. After watching your review, along with BC and others, I can’t commit that much money even for a large replica. It has to be close to immaculate for the price of a used car. Appreciate your prospective.
When Jazzinc was all done "in house", their work was amazing. Now they are growing so big, the production has shifted to China, and the quality control has been very lax.
I dont think there is much QC, i think its done from afar more than anything.
Thank you so much for the comment!
Buy the Hot Toys version-- at least it is cheaper
I have the 66 and the 22. They both have some paint issues. I do love them but at the end of the day I was left feeling some regret. For the prices these things cost we as customers should be completely satisfied.
Same! After opening the 2022 I felt let down. It’s too cheap feeling to cost this much money imo
Almost forgot to say that i don't car the Batmobile cost even 2k i want 100% of what i expected.
there's dust and dirt everywhere - inside and out, that's really disappointing to get it new out the box like that (i have this coming).
Great video. Thanks for the transparency. Amazing a company puts out a final product that comes out of the box like this. The price point and QC issues keeps me away from this company.
Thanks so much really appreciate that!
I’ve realized in this 1/6 scale hobby, nothing is worth what you paid……period!!!
Lucky I could only afford the hot toys one . 😢😮
@@Kevin.Herbert yeah you are lucky.
Same here.
If i see another content creator with the same issues i'm refunding. Gun covers not fitting and scratches is unecceptable.
It's continuing but JazzInc is trying to bury any reports of the bad cars being delivered. Especially in their Facebook group.
yo those last thought are def true im with you bro.
I love your rants, they are gold and love your honesty on the collecting hobby.
I appreciate that!
$1500 + shipping?! NOPE
Orange peel city. Also, gas caps, not hub caps. :)
Thanks for the update dude.
No problem 👍
The windshelds didn't have any plastic protechtion film on them? Like was on the OG BvS/JL Batmobile?
Nope
just saw your older video comparison those panels were def more flushed what the hell they replace could have just sent you 3m paint and some money back lol. this replacement looks crazy came from Temu or sum thing with. thanks Ryan keeping it 100
It’s about time someone on TH-cam is honest about Jazz Inc.
Appreciate the honesty. Great video 👍
Thanks for watching!
I'm so glad I stuck with the Hot Toys version.
Me too
Why Jazz Inc car is 45 cm wide? They promised 40 (which is correct according to wiki), but for some reason ended up with 45
You made some solid objective points in the end dude.
Just wondering if you did consider asking Joost for yet another replacement or were you just over it by now??
I didn’t bother to reach out I’m just over it at this point I’m. It’s like a bad relationship that just needs a break and move on. I’m sure there are those who will criticize me for that it’s ok
@mr.momcollectibles No critique from my side. I've just been waiting for a Joost video to address your warped gun covers & immense dust cover.
I will be requesting the Adam Savage quality level Batmobile. I am truly shocked at the amount of dust & the warped panels.
You could always sell the test vehicle for 500 or 600 dollars and then making the replacement a 1,000 dollar vehicle.
@@leamondtaylor825 guy posted his arrived with severe box damage. The designer box is part of the collectible.
This is very disappointing. I'm glad I canceled my order. For the price tag of this vehicle, it's concerning that you don't know in what condition you'll receive it.
It amazes me how it gets a pass from so many despite the price it’s costing not enough being subjective
Boy, they really handled with care. Just kiddin.
that hurts lol too soon
Great video. Thanks for the insight.
Glad it was helpful!
@mr.momcollectibles understood thanks for the reply
$1500 ill be pissed off too, I just ordered the Hot toys Batmissile hopefully I don't run into any issues
I order the batmissle also very excited for that one
I would find a local model painter and have it repainted. I bet it would look so much better. I can see the paint mistakes. Alot of dry spots.
Paint job also isnt accurate to me, too much green in the paint.
Yet others seem to think its ok. Can it the dust be cleaned off sure, but to me it shows the carelessness for a product worth 1500
@@mr.momcollectibles absolutely...looks like the dust is inside too! Good luck cleaning that out.
Yea it’s gonna be a bitch for sure, some of the decals came off on my test version so I have to be extra careful clean this one
man im thinking about cancelling this and swapping for 2022 if they would least the sound and smoke makes sense on the car
Goes to show the standards IMO
Was it dusty inside? It looked like it.
All over the car inside and out
This is ridiculous for the price they are charging.
Not trying to make any excuses for JazzInc...I've never bought anything from them before, and if my 89 Batmobile arrives from them next year and I'm unhappy with it, I'll just sell it and continue on with my life and never buy anything from them again...but I'm just giving some possible explanations for some of the things I see in your vid in case you or anyone else is interested.
that was my thought to use heat to unwarp them, but sometimes that can damage the paint
I’m sure there is a way to fix the gun covers but I think the point to me is for the price tag it’s wild any of this should even have to be talked about that’s just me
You paid almost $2000. You shouldn’t have to do anything.Lol
But you have many legitimate reasons to be upset, as a Consumer……..Dust and gun covers are in-excusable
Great insight on Jazz Inc! Sad part is people keep giving him money and business 😂
This makes me question their Catwoman final production!
I was thinking the same thing; I'm on the fence about pre-ordering it.
@ same here man, I think I’ll skip in hope HT release there’s
Have you received any response from Joost about any of these issues?
The following is taken from Joosts initial reply on Collector freaks message board when this video was posted
“Just to stick to the facts.
Basically Jazzinc has "no clothes".
That’s a stretch personally it seems there’s always an answer to an issue but it’s what it is
Yep, I share all your frustrations. I canceled myself once I saw the dents and hasty fixes with the guns and wheel emblems.
Seems an amazing piece, but as it has been the trend for JZ, given the little QC issues, the bottomline is that it is overpriced.
Overpriced for sure if you are being subjective about it
been thinking about it if you see those promo pic with batman fighting joker they must have been photoshopped because the car you would have seen those dents if what he is saying true. I think his factory in china can’t do it and made an excuse because the car did not looks like that so someone lying hiding. yes people defending him like there pops. Would you go buy a new car or clothes with imperfections especially for the price
It's OK, I'll buy one of yours to offset some of your pain and loss of money if you'd like... 😁
😂😂😂😂
Jazz didn't get the fins correct on the batwing but the toybiz version did
Honestly that sucks.
(maybe focusing on the size of the jazz inc one is the propaganda that we viewers only need to focus on👀)
Im getting mine in march batch 4b..im also in new zealand which means im paying a arm n leg for freight etc..im nervous as hell now 😂
I can only say I wish you the best and hope things turn out ok!
oh hell na. man the window are so scratched and swirls on paint not acceptable insane. this is bad. this is coming from china right not final from boost warehouse or something. wonder who’s is doing q/c. idk man about these figures as well seems are not clean
Jazz seems to be overpriced poor quality products unfortunately
People are still recieving warped gun covers. A guy posted today his are bad that was just delivered.
Not surprised at all, but when they say something the cult comes after them lol Joost can offer a replacement set but obviously its an issue now more than just a handful.
@mr.momcollectibles yep and still not corrected before delivery.
never cut zip ties with a knife.. always use a pair of cutting dykes /pliers or nippers
Mini buffer!
These 1/6 scale vehicles aren’t cheap to produce. And If you noticed, HT’s is staying away from vehicles……..The Bat Bullet doesn’t count😂
So what happens from here? Does JazzInc remedy the situation or is it now “too bad so sad” from them?
At one point prior to shipping the the thought of financial reimbursement was talked about but we couldn’t come to an agreeable amount so I opted to take the replacement vehicle. At this point I’m going to review both vehicles and part out to make the best version. I have no plans to seek anything further and prefer after those video to close the chapter on Jazzinc. This was a first time purchase and I was made fully aware of what to expect but as I mentioned nostalgia is a dangerous thing at times so I’m chalking this up to a life lesson and moving on.
I watched Adam's un-boxing and that 89's gun covers fit way better than that one. Wasn't dusty and looked good. Might want to check that out.
Trust me I watched that and to be fair, its Adam savage who has a following in the millions compared to me. Need I say more...
@@mr.momcollectibles Customers have started to receive them and they look similar to what we saw on Tested.
So when Adam Savage get a vehicle it’s the perfect one. When you get one it’s junk . Sucks!
27:04 Yes
The HT’s version isn’t even close to this……but I do agree on some of these issues with this car. It’s not perfect, but the HT’s version ain’t even close, color or scale👍
Hot Toys isn’t even painted just molded in black plastic and it looks like a toy. Jazzinc paint job nails it but the scuffs and scratches on his replacement are concerning if they can’t be polished out.
@ I’m wondering if it’s because it’s a replacement……? That would suck!
@@decadentdaveThe Hot Toys Batmobile is indeed painted.
@@jeffhudgins312 which one do you have? The 2023 reissue? I have the original release and it definitely does not look painted at all.
This comment is just hilarious.
He will replace those panels if he asked him.
say dust one more time
Dust
@@mr.momcollectibles Mr. Dust Collectibles, I see your 'dust' and raise you one 'polish.' Let's balance the scales. I'm reporting this for discrimination against cleanliness. Oppression in the name of Swiffer must end.
Thank you for the laugh lol Now I need to buy a DUSTY Deadpool figure
jazz inc is a greedy bastard , if the price is not right dont buy it
glad i stick to the hot toys price is sensible , there no such thing as accurate , the only accurate is the real car from the movie period
Thats just tells me you want the Jazzinc version
@@patientmental875 , i have the hot toys one i hate custom , i hate when customer are not happy with what they get , paying a lot of money , jazz is a greedy bastard period
Why don’t you return it? You seem pretty upset about having it… and get the hottoys one instead.
I guess you didn’t watch the video or frequent my other videos I made
I just came across to your channel I have seen a couple more but not as much, good content btw, but please don’t get me wrong, but I just see clearly your frustration about it.
Otherwise it could be sold to another collector who will post a video critique hehe
The gun covers not being flush to the car is a major concern as that will be noticeable when displayed
As to the complaint on dust, don’t be a Karen 😂
I do hope you don’t order anything from Jazzinc anymore.
I think you got a car covered in Covid spores. Its from China.
😂😂😂😂
Can I have the test batch lol
This sucked.” “OK….”
Another opinion I disagreed with is that Joost should not decide what to make and what features to include based on the feedback of a small minority of his total follower count.
I don’t need to over-polish every video just to meet your personal standards of “tight editing.”
Regarding your theory about the voting system, I respectfully disagree.
Man you are right I staged the entire thing and mislead everyone in my video wow lol in a dusty dirty storage unti...you got me lol
Talk about dramatic… would you seriously want a very inaccurate Hot Toys? I’m keeping my pre-order for the Jazz Inc.
He’s so full of drama you can tell just by his body gestures. Probably OCD as well he definitely seems like he’s going of the deep end lmao
