Have enjoyed all your content of late. I was at Bowral too… still enjoyed it despite the traffic control going on strike. Training for 3 peaks for my 2nd attempt under 10 hours. Definitely test your nutrition out over a longer ride, tends to be in those later hours where your stomach says “no more”. Hit me up if you want to do some content on immersive chain waxing… keep up the great work!
Thanks Monty. It’s going to be an epic peaks. This is the year mate. I find the step beyond “not bonking” the hardest, nutrition for performance is work. 🤔 chain waxing is that thing on my list I never get around to doing. I am due a new chain/cassette in the new year… I will keep you in mind.
Great video! Not sure about types of content the stuff you’ve done recently is all good! I liked this one. I’ll also vouch for those concentric cycling mounts. They’re great if you have a whacky aero or d-shaped seat tube and much more solid than the stock mounts you get with Garmins and other similar lights.
Thanks for the feedback. Yeah Concentric seems to have some good models. Much closer for us Aussies than Neat Components (which are also good, but on the other side of the world).
Yeah same bike. Although I do a lot of training on a Wahoo Kickr Bike. I am not at a level where I have thought too seriously about the trading cycle yet. I think if you look after it, and replace chains, cassettes, brakes when needed you should get many years from a top end bike.
@@ModerateCyclist nothing worse than breaking a chain, bending a link, or a RD that has an unscheduled dismantling and you cannot single speed your bike to get home. All for a 3 gram saving.
Good video mate, always valueable to take a step back and reflect on what could be improved.
Thanks mate, took a bit getting all the b-roll together for this one. Always stuff that can be improved upon.
I love how much we can analyse absolutely everything in cycling.
Good chat and enjoy trialling the nutrition.
Middle-aged humans with hobbies, that is what we do right? Nutrition is a tough one. I always think I am getting enough in, but I never am.
Yeah I think nutrition is quite often the most difficult part of cycling
@CaptHigdawg as soon as you are pushing past the 1h mark you really need a solid strategy.
Love the vlogs... especially your take on training for events and cycling in general.
Thanks Steve, appreciate the feedback.

@ I’ve been taught by the master and happy to share all I know. I don’t live too far from you. Train well!

Nice video mate, cool footage 😉 thanks for the mention! See you on the road soon.
Cheers mate. Mountains of b-roll for this one. How did you pull up after WHRR?
Really enjoying your videos mate. Bowral Cancellation sucked but Peaks is just around the corner :)
Thanks dude! True story about Peaks. It will be here before you know it.
Do you train and race on the one bike? If using the one bike, how long do you keep it for before trading it in for another top shelf steed?

No quicklinks?
Which link you looking for my man?
You do not carry chain quicklinks in your tool kit?
@scottfrancis2430 oh right. No I don’t. But that is probably an important addition. Good call!

@scottfrancis2430 💯super easy inclusion.
I don't know if you would have been successful if the event had been run but suspect that you might have had less fun.
That is probably true 😜
