Congratulations on becoming a citizen!! I used to work in a Federal Building and the days they swore in new citizens was the best. It filled my heart to see so happy and proud people were to become citizens! For my first major outings after I became chronically ill, and was learning my new mobility limits, was to go alone to Ikea. I went online and listed each item and where they were located so I had a clear plan. It felt so nice when I actually found all of the items and made it back to my car!
Hey y'all! This is the second video to have this problem. It was uploaded and successfully played for the full 16ish minutes, and then a day later it was cut short. Now it only plays to 1:14. Same thing happened to the 9/29 vlog. I have contacted TH-cam support, they said it is strange and are working on it! I will keep y'all updated. So sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience! UPDATE (10/8/17 7:15pm): The video is back to normal! For me at least, and many of you have commented saying it is back to normal length on all devices. TH-cam emailed me saying that they are, in fact, having some technical issues but are working on fixing it. Unfortunately if it happens again, I cannot do anything except wait. My mother was American-born until she married my Canadian father & got her Canadian citizenship & settled for the rest of their lives in Ontario Canada to raise my two older sisters, one older brother, & myself. My husband Colin was British-born, raised in South Africa from age seven until he moved here to Canada in his mid-forties. We married December 3rd '06. It wasn't my first marriage, but it IS Colin's first marriage. We are now 71 & 76 & still going strong! You're absolutely right! Diversity is wonderful to see! You're also right in keeping important family get-together (spell checker refused to let me pluralize that! lol ) PRIVATE!! Congrats on the citizenship. I have two grandsons that have dual citizenship (Irish/American). I've been watching your vlogs but not saying much but I want you to know that I truly appreciate your vlogs. I'm a telephone triage nurse and we take care of over 400 physician's patients after hours. Even though I worked in a hospital for a long time my experience with chronic illness was more along the lines of heart disease and lung disease. I can better serve the patient's when I know more about what to expect with home care concerns and disabilities. I also have some disabilities that I've tried to ignore but as time goes on I can see that I may have to use tools to help me with my everyday activities. You are just such a wealth of information. Thanks for sharing.

I’m glad you took us along on your journey, most Americans don’t realize how much work people not born here go through to gain citizenship. Glad you are learning to know your new limits. Be careful to push forward slowly, it’s easy to overdo and slide backwards. I tend to forget my limitations on days I feel well and usually try do do too much to “catch-up” with life. I’m glad you have tools to help you, and a supportive family. You are an inspiration to so many of us. ❤️🇺🇸🙋🏻🇺🇸❤️
Congratulations! We're all cheering for you! We certainly understand the need for off-camera times with your husband and family. We're all just thankful for the positive outlook that you encourage us with daily. I have a suggestion, but it may not work with a transport chair since I have a manual wheelchair. I need a wheelchair due to severe chronic abdominal pain so when I'm having a really bad pain day, it hurts too much to wheel myself because my stomach muscles are used too much that way, so what I do (and it is much slower) is tippee-toe myself around in my chair using my feet. It might be worth a try anyway, so I thought I'd throw it out there just in case... Thanks for all you do. We love you!

Congrats on the citizenship. I have two grandsons that have dual citizenship (Irish/American). I've been watching your vlogs but not saying much but I want you to know that I truly appreciate your vlogs. I'm a telephone triage nurse and we take care of over 400 physician's patients after hours. Even though I worked in a hospital for a long time my experience with chronic illness was more along the lines of heart disease and lung disease. I can better serve the patient's when I know more about what to expect with home care concerns and disabilities. I also have some disabilities that I've tried to ignore but as time goes on I can see that I may have to use tools to help me with my everyday activities. You are just such a wealth of information. Thanks for sharing.

Congratulations!!! Woohoo! I watched my step mom from Peru get her citizenship, I was young but was so in awe! I'm half Mexican, so I didn't watch my dad get his, but, he did it at a very early age. I'm do happy for y'all! I'm in the South too, so u can say that. 😁

Glad you are learning to know your new limits. Be careful to push forward slowly, it’s easy to overdo and slide backwards. I tend to forget my limitations on days I feel well and usually try do do too much to “catch-up” with life. I’m glad you have tools to help you, and a supportive family. Congratulations! We're all cheering for you! We certainly understand the need for off-camera times with your husband and family. We're all just thankful for the positive outlook that you encourage us with daily. I have a suggestion, but it may not work with a transport chair since I have a manual wheelchair. I need a wheelchair due to severe chronic abdominal pain so when I'm having a really bad pain day, it hurts too much to wheel myself because my stomach muscles are used too much that way, so what I do (and it is much slower) is tippee-toe myself around in my chair using my feet. It might be worth a try anyway, so I thought I'd throw it out there just in case... Thanks for all you do. We love you!
