Hmmm... I dont beleive it is the "manufacturer" that mandates safe occupancy on a school bus (???). Isnt that set by authorities that oversee safety on student tranportation? If you look in your School Bus Certification Manual for the requirements that a certified school bus driver must abide by (YOU CANT LIKELY FIT that many of todays larger high school students in a seat SAFELY). But administration often schedules it and then ostrisizes drivers who complain. Its only a matter of time before chaos happens. Student behavior, as he mentions, is an issue too (playing in the aisle - instead of sitting safely faced forward in the seat). But in the end - it is the Driver who is liable. No wonder there is a National Shortage!! Drivers have all the Liability with ZERO authority. To many uncooperative student and parents. This will likely be coming to a school near you soon. 🤔🤨
