@@allons.y yeah I was on eva airlines It was kid kicking my chair and I told his parents to stop kicking the chair but nothing happened even ask the flight attendant and nothing also so now I fly on premium economy or business class ?
Sorry to hear the parents and crew didn’t do anything about it. Hopefully you’re having better flights now that you’re taking premium economy and business class✈️
Thanks! I appreciate you noticing. I try my best to keep everyone's privacy in mind while filming, especially since people aren’t exactly eager to be part of my video 🤪😂
I definitely agree with that. It would be nice if they allowed premium economy to board a little sooner at least. Premium economy should board after passengers that need assistance and first/business class passengers
Thanks for the review. I am flying with EVA to Thailand and purchased my ticket via Capital One travel portal. Little did I know I am not able to pay extra for an upgrade. Would prefer to be in Premium Economy on a long flight. Anyways, thanks again for doing the review. BTW- I find your voice very pleasant.
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed the review 🙏 Sometimes the airline might give you the option to bid for an upgrade a few days before the flight. You’ll receive an email about it if they do. You might also be able to pay for an upgrade to premium economy when you check-in at the airport or at the gate. I hope you enjoy your trip to Thailand and have a safe flight ✈️
not worth it, I did last year and the way back to U S its become economy, they overbooked economy and put them on premium so crowded. Never again, also I asked for special meal because I have lots of allergeis guess what nothin.
Great review, and good to know about the delta between economy and premium economy. I've never flown EVA so this is super helpful. Keith has often talked about how great their business class is compared to other airlines but I don't believe he's flown premium economy so this is a good intro for me. I'm not sure if I would fly PE from Van to Taipei or just splurge on a business class flight (on points) like Keith did when he went diving in Indonesia last year.
Oh definitely it’s a long flight from Canada to Taipei! I need to check out EVA business class one day if I can find the award space. They definitely looked real comfy up in business class from what i saw 😎
Wow 7 hours of sleep on a plane is incredible! I don’t even get seven hours in my own bed at home 😂 I definitely agree that it was worth it, especially for long flights 😴✈️
I fly Eva Air quite a bit and used to fly Premium Economy just to get to Alliance Gold faster. Now that im Gold I have returned to flying economy again since last year. Economy is ok IF you guaranteed exit row seats. Gold members get to choose those free so I will continue to fly Eva economy. My next flight the P.E seats were going for $2,500.00. I purchase my exit row seat in economy for $1099.00. I always have 6 to 8hr layover there in Taipei airport. Its tolerable with free lounge access 🙂
@@russellmania9157 exit seats are definitely a great way to get extra room at a more reasonable cost for sure🙌 and the lounge access definitely makes long layovers much for comfortable.
@@wistletoneexit row has tons of leg room so if that is your primary concern it probably isn’t necessary to upgrade to PE. The added benefits PE will offer over exit row economy though is that it is in a 2-4-2 configuration vs 3-4-3 in economy, so one less person in your row if you’re sitting on either side, slightly nicer food, amenity kit, and PE also has dedicated washrooms so should be less of a wait to use bathroom. Exit row also has no place to store personal item in front of your seat so if you like to have personal belongings close to you it is something to consider as well. Either way I hope you have a great flight ✈️
@@wistletone ..I got a free upgrade to PE on my last trip and it was cool BUT not really worth it to me. Wider seat..litte bit gourmet food..but you still have to board with economy if you are not Gold member. So not worth the extra cash for me.
The 15 lbs for carry only luggage is a joke to me, the luggage itself is already half that weight. I literally had a pair of shoes, pants and a shirt to meet the weight limit.
It really isn’t much especially with the luggage itself taking up a lot of the weight like you mentioned. I find Asian airlines in general to be more restrictive with the carry on weight. North American and European airlines tend to be a little more, sometimes a lot more, generous. British Airways allows up to 50lbs and Air Canada has no weight limit (just size limit) for hand carry
Nice review. You were very thorough. I’ve never flown EVA Air. How might the premium economy seat compare to economy in comfort aside from the additional space? Thank you for sharing.
Thanks so much and great question. I would definitely say that the seats are more comfortable in premium economy in the sense that they are more plush. They definitely have more cushioning for both the head rest and the seat itself. Next time I do one of these types of reviews I’ll be sure to include a shot of economy as well so people can see the difference. Are you planning on flying with EVA in the future ?
@@allons.y I have no immediate plans, but I’m open to any airline that is highly rated by Skytrax. My last two flights back to the US were in Qatar Airways business class, which is outstanding with the new livery, but not the old one. I am just exploring if Premium Economy might work for me. I flew economy with ANA three years ago and I had lower back pain for two weeks. I want to avoid that!
EVA is a good airline except they are more expensive than other airlines. I would think PE is good because you are in your own section with a lavatory. Because there is a small section for PE you get your food faster than if you were in economy. Also with EVA you get two extra sides than economy.
Were you able to select your seat for free or did you have to pay the fee? I need the legroom so I'm always debating between PE or the extra $185 for the emergency exit in regular economy.
You have to pay a fee if you are booking basic fare. Anything above basic fare you get seat selection. Or you can wait 48 hrs before the flight and seat selection will be free then as well
Hi! Does the 777-300er Premium economy have their own bathrooms exclusive to PE and not regular economy. On the map of the plane it looks like there are no washroom at the front of Premium and only at back to which economy seats can also access?
There are no washrooms at the front of PE only at the back. They are exclusive to PE and there is a sign on the door that says the washroom is only for PE passengers only. The FAs are pretty good about directing people to the correct washrooms, but I suppose it's possible for someone from economy to 'sneak' into the PE washrooms if the FA does not notice.
I didn't see any snacks in the galley when I walked by but the flight attendants walked through the cabin several times with a basket of snacks that you could choose from. There was different types of crackers, chocolates, nuts, and even apples.
It depends on a lot of factors but if Aeroplan is your main loyalty program then I think it makes sense to have the points credited there even if flying EVA. That’s actually what I did since aeroplan is the loyalty program I tend to get the most mileage from and their partner redemption rates are great as well. But if you tend to mainly fly EVA it might make more sense for you to credit to EVA instead of
Excellent video. Economy ($1400 sfo-bkk) by design or Premium economy ($2800 sfo-bkk). Actually flew economy last month. Actually quite nice until on the 2nd leg, the guy reclined it to the max. 1 vote for no recline. 🤣
Oh no! Sorry to hear someone reclined on you for such a long flight 🤪 but glad to hear the experience was good prior to that. Thanks for sharing your experience and for watching 🙏🙌
@allons.y Only from Tpe to Bkk, 3 hours. He moved up a little when I asked. It's quite a nice 12hr Sfo to TPE n the 3 hr. to Bkk flight on Eva.... Better than the JAL 10 hr + 6 hr format to Bangkok. The 6 is tiring. Cheers on your travels! Good luck!
Not worth it - really couple of inches of recline and one meal on a plate - the other plastic container. My focus when I look to pay more is economy with more leg room - the rest really is not worth it. Usually I bring my own sandwich I pick up in airport or I bring from home - the food is meant to appeal to wide range of appetites - usually pretty bland and standard.
You can definitely save a lot of money by just booking the exit row or the first row of economy if leg room is your primary priority for sure. And bringing your own food is an excellent idea as well. Thanks for watching and for your feedback🙌
I am aware that star alliance gold is allowed to check in 1 additional bag above the standard allotment, which would bring the limit to 3 checked bags as you mentioned. However, the 2 piece limit I stated is what is allowed for a standard passenger without status who is travelling in premium economy. I’m not going to state what is allowed for someone who has status because not everyone has status. It’s only right to state what is the base allotment for premium economy. Anyone with status or other benefits can figure out what extras they are allowed. If I had made the video about “what star alliance gold members get” then I would have said 3 luggages. But the video is about premium economy not star alliance gold. Thanks for watching though
