The more I listen to Kev and Angel talk about being Christian and being in the entertainment industry the more I realize that people really be out here thinking that not smoking or drinking or cursing makes you a “Christian”. Now, don’t get it twisted, I do believe we are held to a different standard (not a “better” standard that makes us look elitist or hypocritical) but a different standard. I have friends that do not drink because they are convicted not to. But they drop the occasional f-bomb...lol. I think the problem is as believers we like to present this pristine and perfect image to our fellow Christians and non-believers when NO ONE holds up under that much scrutiny. It’s not about “following the rules” to make yourself appear more holy because that ain’t never saved no body’s soul. I really encourage Christian’s to break free from that way of thinking because it’s got a lot of people in bondage. And it’s preventing them from truly experiencing the fullness of Christ

I had the exact same realization as Kev in my 30s too! Didn't party or drink in college. Never been to a club. Born and raised a church kid and thought EVERYTHING is bad! I FINALLYYYY woke up at age 32 and stated to have a real balance and learned the convictions forced on me by my church..are not my own. And now I freely enjoy concerts, plays, comedy shows, wine tasting trips..etc. Kev and Melissa has really helped me on this journey as well!

I had the same plight as Kev when it comes to being a Christian and it pushed me into depression falling short of my unrealistic expectations. Instead of putting each other on pedestals, we need to learn to pray for one another. He brought up the exmaple of Tonex, but Le'Andria would have been a more fitting example to his point. The "church" done stoned her so many dang on times and she's still pressing toward the mark! It's why I love her sooooo much and it's why her music holds power. She literally be crying out to and worshipping God from the belly of her soul. I was put in a predicament last week to be surrounded by nothing but unsaved souls. I was able to minister more freely around them than I had ever done behind a pulpit. There's soooooo much more to being a Christian. SO MUCH MORE!

Can I just say I am the first born daughter of an Apostolic Pastor, the grandchild of a Baptist choir director, the great grandchild of Pentecostal ministersssss, and the ex-wife of a Nazerine minister, with four children....I am 48yrs old and have never been to a club, never smoked, drank, or partacuth of the weed. I believed with all my precious heart that doing these things would send me right straight to hell, with gasoline drawers on. It was not until two years ago that I tasted real wine. I have been divorced for almost five years and still will not date again until my last child is grown. Is it bad that in a year and a half, I am counting down so that I can club, drink, and be a Holy Ho...lol I do know now that some of these things are not gone send me to hell.

Can I just say I am the first born daughter of an Apostolic Pastor, the grandchild of a Baptist choir director, the great grandchild of Pentecostal ministersssss, and the ex-wife of a Nazerine minister, with four children....I am 48yrs old and have never been to a club, never smoked, drank, or partacuth of the weed.
