    Would you guys happen to know where to buy the mounts that attach to the toce exhausts? I am talking about the round mounts that are already existing in the subframe which you use to slide the bolts through to attach the lowering links that are on the exhaust. I only had one on my bike so I could only attach one link to the bike.

A spring puller, a scredriver/flat head, a set of Allen keys, a wrench set, and standard socket set for the ratchet are all that is needed for this installation.

  • @justinfancher8770
    @justinfancher8770 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Does deleting the original heat sync not make it ridiculously hot under the seat? I know there are wraps you can put around the mid pipe but that's kinda tacky imo. Just wondering how removing heat shield affects real world ride quality (think summer commuting)

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It mainly depends on which exhaust you are running. With the OEM exhaust and even some aftermarket options like the Toce, Yoshimura, Arrow, and Akrapovic, the heat from the exhaust is barely noticeable and will not damage or have any affect negatively on your fairings or riding quality. For some other aftermarket options, they do not disperse the heat efficiently so you may experience some additional heat.

It looks like he bought the hyper pack with the old turn signal design. Witch I will change those to the halos and getting a license plate light soon. Just want to know is their a mid-pipe or a full system for the toce exhaust? Love the exhaust by the way just trying to see is there away I can save weight and make more room under the seat.

    hey so i’m having trouble mounting my exhaust. the mounting point on the subframe where the exhaust lowering links attaches is just a big hole for me. there is a hole in the subframe about the diameter of a quarter where it looks like there should be some screw fixture in which i screw the exhaust into the subframe. This is shown in the video. however my bike does not have that. what’s the name of that part and is there any other way to mount it without the fixture?

      +Double N Benn The heat shield will have to be removed when you are installing the exhaust, but it can be re-installed afterwards if you'd like. We decided to leave it off due to personal preference, so it's all up to you.

    • @bennalbrecht
      @bennalbrecht 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +TSTindustries I'm referring to the undertail heat shield. I'm concerned about heat for a passenger. I'm sure there's nothing to worry about, I'm just being overly cautious

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Double N Benn If you are only installing the exhaust then that heat shield can stay in place. However, If you plan to install one of our integrated tail lights in the future then it will have to be removed. If you modify your heat shield in a way that it will not spill the heat collected from the exhaust directly onto the taillight, then you can reinstall the heatshield. We have been doing these installs since 2007 and most of the owners want the heat shield out. They never report any adverse heat accumulation after the heat shield removal.

    • @bennalbrecht
      @bennalbrecht 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +TSTindustries Installed Toce exhaust last night. To help anyone who is trying to keep the under tail heat shield. The holes where the exhaust brackets go through must be widened with a pair of snips (it's no big deal), and then this exhaust fits like a glove. When I fired her up for the first time it sounded amazing, 10x better than any video. You have to hear this exhaust in person. 2008 CBR600RR

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope. The 03-04 model is the stepchild. I have never done it but technically anything is possible with knowhow and tools. You would have to rework the midpipe. That means cutting, welding, and pro ably splicing sections of tube

    About to get the hyper pack for my CBR, i heard there is a computer update that has to happen for the exhaust, is that true? If so, how do I go about getting it done?

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +shawnk82 The Toce slipon exhaust does not require a computer update. If you want to get maximum gains from installing an exhaust (and any other upgrades that increase air flow through the motor), then you will want to do a piggyback fuel computer or ECU reflash with a reputable dyno facility providing the tune. If you are doing things step by step you can wait on the tune and just do the exhaust for now. You will not have any problems with this setup.

    Don't you need some kind of putty sealant to properly seal the down pipe onto the bike?

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +gibbos gibbo That is not an industry standard solution. If you look at most of the slipon exhausts available on the market they all make pipe to pipe connection. When you turn on your bike the exhaust piping expands quickly with the heat and the connection is sealed really nicely. If you look at full exhausts they are all held together by springs and that works well.

      Our exhaust mounting kit included with this exhaust affords some adjustability but you can't get it parallel. This is on purpose. This preps the bike for the proper amount of spacing for use with our in-tail tail lights.

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +cynistersix The OEM exhaust comes off with the gasket. The Toce midpipe slips right onto the header pipe and fastens down with a clamp without the use of a gasket. This is very common in aftermarket exhausts.

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Try to fit the midpipe into the canister off the bike first. You can use just a small smear of non-petroleum grease to make it easier. Lithium soap grease works well and then just burns off.

    • @canyonforkash731
      @canyonforkash731 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      TSTindustries tried that. Seems like it may be defective as the hole in the exhaust is too small to fit the mid-pipe. Tried it off the bike and used some grease and it’s just chipping the inside of the exhaust when trying to install it.

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most racing canisters are mounted on the midpipe via slip fit and held on by springs. Please see how this works on this particular exhaust at time stamp 14:45

    • @Danny121988
      @Danny121988 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      TSTindustries ok yea I seen the springs installed I just didn’t think that was it. I was expecting a clamp like the one on the other end of the mid pipe connecting to the end of the headers. But I’m no expert on exhausts or riding I’d say I’m still considered a squid but maybe squid level 2 lol since I only have one season of riding under my belt so far. I really want an exhaust but I’m still trying to justify spending 600. Can we at least both agree that the mark up on the toce exhaust is a little out of hand. I mean 600 geez. I’ll probably end up being a sucker and buying one anyway but gawd damn. I could buy a car for that price.

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      We actually don't have much control over the pricing of the exhaust itself. The factory sets a "minimum advertised price" that we are contractually bound to. We can charge more but cannot charge less. We do have some product packages that include the exhausts along with some of our other parts where we discount our parts to make the whole package a great deal. Maybe that would appeal to you.

  • @jonathanhart7362
    @jonathanhart7362 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Any horsepower problems with the Toce exhaust? I've read people lose the mid range power when they put the Toce exhaust on their bikes compared to Yoshimura or TBR. Any input on this?

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Jonathan Hart I believe that people that write the things you are reading are trying to justify their choice in exhaust with unsubstantiated opinions. We actually sell Yoshimura and Arrow exhausts in addition to Toce so please don't think there is some kind of bias. Any of the exhausts you mentioned will give you a little boost in top end hp if the air/fuel ratio and ignition are tuned properly. In addition, the mid-range where the torque has more to do with what you feel on the bike when street riding can also be tuned to be increased (albeit slightly...it's a tiny motor). I recommend that you do some good reading if you really want to get details on this subject. Don't listen to me, or those guys you mentioned, but instead check out "Scientific Design of Exhaust and Intake Systems." It's a book written a long time ago by some real good engineers. Most of the engineering principles in that book apply to modern sportbikes. I think that can help you more that I can, or the guys on forums, Facebook, and local parking lot pimps.

      www.600rr.net/vb/18-exhaust-fuel-delivery/406969-all-existing-toce-owners-others-reservations-getting-exhaust.html
      This is what I read and all about it. No clue if it's true. Do you recommend a power commander 5 and good intake if you get a slip on exhaust? i'm getting a CBR600RR soon that has a yoshimura exhaust, but I want the Toce for the sound of it because it's got a low end growl that is just great. Thank you again for the reply.

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Jonathan Hart yea...I gave that a quick read... nothing is more accurate than a wrist Dyno, especially riding g on the street ;). I recommend you get your bike, have some fun riding on it the way it comes, and then if you are so inclined do the following mods:
      1. keep Yosh or go with exhaust of your choice
      2. Replace stock air filter with a better flowing unit like BMC, K&N, MWR
      3. Install PC V or a flash tune utility like Woolwich (I side with flashing because you have access to way more than with a piggyback for a better value) [ www.woolichracing.com/products/honda/honda-ecu-flashing.aspx#productTable]
      4. Most Important: get a proper Dyno tune by someone that tunes race bikes. If you are in USA we can recommend someone. There will be a trade-off between top end hp and mid range torque so you will need to explain to that tuner what you need and then they will get as close as possible to that setup.
      I hope this helps, but again, you are taking my personal suggestions. I still recommend that you read up from authoritative sources before you make your decision. Ride safe brother...
