Correction: At 0:45 I said that Memento was getting a 4K release and I was referring to the Black Label editon from 101 Films that's coming out on October 16 in the UK, but it's not 4K - it's just a Blu-ray release.
A small, but still very impressive collection of Nolan's work, very nice as always Donny. You're not gonna believe this, but I've never actually seen any of Christopher Nolan's films in full, I did see clips of a few of them for a film course I took in college back in 2011, and I saw fragments of his Dark Knight Trilogy on TV years ago. I love Nolan's style in that he makes entertaining films, but also manages to include themes and ideas he finds fascinating with the hope viewers will take notice of and discuss/think about for a while after they see the film. My parents saw Dunkirk in the theater when it first came out, my Dad loved it and my Mom thought it was too violent. My Dad's a history buff, (I love history as well) so he was very impressed with Nolan's detail to what it was probably like at the battle, that and he used real extras in the battle scenes instead of CGI. Take care my friend, hope you're well, and speak to you soon.
What!? You never seen any of Nolan's film in full!?? How is that possible? That needs to change, dude! 😉Did you know Dunkirk was partially filmed in my country? It was shot in a small town called Urk and the water scenes were mostly shot in IJsselmeer. Take care, buddy. Hope you're well.
@@CinemaniacSeventy7I'll make sure to watch one of Nolan's films in full one of these days, his work is certainly worth it. That's very cool some of Dunkirk was shot in the Netherlands, the excitement the locals must've felt being a part of moviemaking.
Hi Donny. Enjoyed the video. Just the other day I was watching a video with them talking about the original Insomnia vs. the remake and they started off by saying that here is a case of where the remake is probably better than the original and of course you concur. I own the Criterion edition but have yet to watch it. I guess I want to see the remake now even more after hearing all the positive opinions. The Memento DVD set is really nice. I was wondering what you thought of Tenet so I went back to one of your older updates (2020) and listened. Now that some time has passed and you've maybe had a few moments to think about it, do you think you understand it better? I remember when Tenet first came out. It was the first movie to appear in theaters after a year of Covid lockdown when you couldn't go to theaters. Tenet was the first movie that we actually go back to the theaters and see. And Dunkirk. Have not seen it. Obviously, I need to. Thanks again for the nice presentation Mr. Donny.
Hi Paul, glad you enjoyed the video. The original Insomnia didn't much for me. Nolan's version is a lot better. Oh yes, after having watched it a couple of times, I understand Tenet more now. That was like the only movie I saw in the theater after the lockdown. Can't believe you haven't seen Dunkirk yet. It's such a great film. Thanks for stopping by, my friend.
