Hi, may I know what reason you used for appealing? I made the same mistake, I wasn't aware that there is external app, and I couldn't close it since it was only popped up when the test has started.

ctrl+alt+delete and viewed the task
manager, which confirmed it.
Hmm, you did right checking the task manager, perhaps email them and explain the situation so you can retake the test for free? They might not let you but it’s worth trying.

You looked away from the screen for an extended period of time. You must test again and look at your computer screen throughout the entire test.

I gave the exam yesterday and I got notification about my cursor one time only. and suddenly test was paused.. I quickly restart my exam, so it will affect on my result or it should be ok.
You never know, I believe you should be fine since the test didn't stop and you didn't get any pop-up widows or anything like that. Fingers crossed for you, let me know when you get your results!

What if switch keyboard while giving the exam, They know that i am using external keyboard or my laptop keyboard?
Hey! You can have a keyboard but then it would have to be used from the beginning of the exam, you can’t switch it in the middle, unfortunately, as this may trigger their program and they can see that something was connected via USB or Bluetooth. If you want to use a keyboard though for your convenience, just make sure to plug it in before.

Hi Sister please help me out i have given my duolingo test and it is written over their that,The captured video or audio from your test session failed to upload properly or is corrupted. Your test will not receive a score. Please disable any third-party software, use a stronger internet connection, and try again. What was your score?:) You're right, it has no impact, they warn you several times before shutting the test down, only if you keep doing it after a few warnings.

Are you using windows or iOS/Mac?
You need to go to press ctrl alt dlt on windows or Cmd + Alt + Escape to see the Force Quit Applications menu. This shows all running apps.

At first you open it through Chrome, but then you download a file through it, and open that file and clkse Chrome, hope that helps. 🙂

I believe it doesn’t matter, but I’m not 100% sure. Technically it shouldn’t matter at all whether it’s wifi or mobile hotspot, yet mobile hotspot’s internet might be more unstable.

i was having the duolingo account and purchased and wrote one test but forgotten my password then purchased new from making new I’d and wrote the test because I was not aware of it, now they are saying your account is blocked done with the appeal will they provide me the result now ?????
I’m sure if you contact their customer support they will help you. They will ask why didn’t you reset the password for the first account, but there could be multiple reasons like maybe you lost the access to your email/phone number etc. Best of luck, hope you manage to recover your results!

Don't worry, I believe it will still be ok since it as at the very end and the interview isn't graded, it's just for the university to watch, you should be fine, especially if you reacted quickly and moved the mouse away from the corner of the screen. Good luck! :)
I already taken the test. Now it will be my 5th attempt. In all attempts my result was uncertified. I was requested to close down the background running program, application & window in my laptop even though I was very much aware of that and followed the instruction about the closing down of all program & applications. It depends, if that happened you'd still lose a few minutes while reconnecting so you'd miss a few timed tasks. You'd probably have to contact them after and explain the situation and then hopefully they will alow you to retake the test again.

Hi, to open Mac Activity Monitor, press [CMD] + [ALT] + [ESC] keys on your keyboard. This will open a window containing a list of all currently opened programs and applications that are running in background and you can close them. 🙂 make sure to close the browser you used to download DuoLingo Test application.

Well, the monitor will ask you to show the whole room before the test and hey say no one else can be there, so this could possibly cause an issue, unfortunately.
I took Duolingo exam twice and I got mail that my results can not be certified given with the reason that During the speaking section, it was evident you were reading a response that had been written out. This is not permitted. Your response cannot be prepared in any way and must be candid in order to receive a certified result.
How can this could happen ?
Duolingo gives random topics for speaking section and there is no chance of preparing any material. Everything I spoke is of my own. There is no chance to speak a written script as they give random topics to speak.
No chance of predicting the topics and the preparation time for the topic in exam is 20 seconds. What can I speak from a written script in the span of 20 seconds.
What should I do now, if the test is not getting certified for this reason.

First time they uncertified my test stated that "you are looking out of screen" and reattempt on the same credit and again they uncertified result stating same reason. Infact, i attempt test with full consentration looking within the screen throughout the entire test. Despite this they uncertified test and didn't even give another credit for third time.

It’s a good question, cause there actually aren’t many! I’m working on a video now where we’ll practice describing pictures. All you can do is to look for other exercises from different tests, with similar tasks like gap filling or practicing writing.

Madam, i have taken exam on July 5th I got result also but I am not ok with my results. So, i have chosen to retake the test. I think capitalizing all letters might be seen as bad punctuation, so I would advise against it. I don’t think it matters too much if you skip some of the capitalization though.

What happens if your phone alarm ring during the test🤧🤧🤧
It might be an issue if this happened during the speaking section, while the program was recording the sound. It might assume you weren't alone in the room. If it happened during any other section it *probably* won't affect the outcome, but it might! Please let us all know if you passed! Fingers crossed!

I have done my test recently and the results come as I was blocked permanently by Duolingo as I was using dictionary or predetermined tool to make the spelling correct.. I was not conscious about it and I don't intentionally tried to cheat. I have given appeal and they are not ready to reactivate my account and new purchase for test has been disabled. What can I do to reactivate my account or is there any other way to have a test again. It's really important and I need to take the test as soon as possible. Please help me.
Try emailing them explaining the situation, explain that you had the spelling correction tiol in automaticlsly and you didnt knoe how to disable it and ask for them to enable your account. Lets hopw they do it. Fingers crossed. Unfortunately, there's not much else you can do.
