1 Handed vs 2 Handed Bowling Comparison!

- Math for finding ball speed and rev rate:
One handed it took 0.9 seconds from the time the ball hit the lane to when it hit the headpin. (we rounded the 0.9 to 1 second) And the ball had 8 revolutions. And we said that the ball traveled 20ft. So we took the numbers from the Storm rev rate chart:

so if the ball does 8 revolutions in one second then the ball would do 480 in one minute. Same for the two handed, if the ball does 10 revolutions in 1 second then it would do 600 in one minute.
Math for finding ball speed:
We used an online calculator ( www.google.com/search?q=feet+... )
and said the ball traveled 20 feet per second (because the ball went 20 feet in one second) and it gave us our mph. But since the one handed only took 0.9 seconds we used a different online calculator, and I don't have a link to it

Two hands does give you more pin carry and more hook but it looks a little less controllable. You took three different angles in the testing with various results. One handed is a little more consistent, I'd like to see a vid of you bowling 10 frames one handed in the future

I'm a two handed bowler, and I can usually get more control from my ball, I always struggled with one handed and now I can get at least 1 or 2 200 games per 3 games

I have tried the two hand styles but every time it had too much spin and wouldn’t hit the target

I tried as well. My ball only goes about 10-11 mph and even when I get close to the gutter it goes into the left before it hits the 7 pin.
I cant feel the ball with two handed ! But the way you do two handed it looks more pro ! :))))
@@marsh2202 You have to make your approach faster. 2 Handed get there ball speed from the approach, not the back swing.

I’ve done 2 handed since I was young because when I first bowled I couldn’t carry the ball with one hand 😂
I'm a member of a bowling team (there's four of us in total) and I'm the only two-handed bowler in our group. In competition, almost all of our opponents go one-handed, so I was wondering, does going one-handed offer any sort of advantage?
I believe two handed actually has a bigger advantage than one handed. Two handed gets more power and revolutions on the ball.
Its just preference really. I find two handed easier while i almost fall sideways when i bowl one handed.
Honestly I have no idea. It comes down to preference. On my high school team I am the only one hander but have the highest average sitting at 220 as a sophomore. I think that is cause of experience tho because I am way more accurate than the rest. It really just comes down to experience and practice. Obviously as a one hander I’m not out scoring belmo lol

Yep. That’s one thing we were worried about when building this lane. But it doesn’t affect my regulation bowling at all.

you should try candlepin bowling. the highest ever game is a 240. its a lot harder than 10 pin

As a two handed bowler myself, you HAVE to not throw the ball over you shoulder if this makes any sense to you, but it makes more room for erroe

I do lots of local leagues and tournaments, and I bowl for highschool. I also travel each year for Junior Gold.

Dude you need change it up a bit and play... Candlepin bowling!!! What candlepin bowling is is basically the pins are very skinny and you get 3 shots instead of two, and the pins are far apart, and it's harder than 10 pin bowling, look it up and you'll see what it is. Thanks!!! Oh yeah i almost forgot, you can use the deadwood to your advantage to get your spare. :D

If your one handed ball speed was 15.9mph, and it made 8 rotations in 20feet, your one handed rev rate would be higher than 480, it would be closer to 560.

First off, your calculations are slightly wrong. Since you rounded, you tipped that rev rate down slightly. Also, it isn’t 20 feet. The distance from where I’m assuming you threw the ball and the pit is 24 feet. Assuming your time is accurate, the ball traveled for 0.9 seconds on the lane. The pin is 2.5 inches at its widest point, which would have been the point that it would’ve hit first. Now, the distance between the 1 and 2 pins is exactly 6 inches. The distance between the 2 and 5 pins should be exactly 6 inches. Therefore the 1 2 and 5 pins should form a rough equilateral triangle meaning that it is about 6 inches to the 5 pin. From the 5 pin to the 8 and 9 pins is 6 inches meaning that it is located above the midpoint of the 8-9 line. A line drawn from the 5 to that line is about 3 inches. That means it should be a little over 9 inches from the head pin to the 8-9 line. Now given that there is space between the center of the 8 and 9 pins and the pit, I’m going to round to 1 foot because there was never a set distance on that in your tutorial video. That leaves us with approximately 1 foot between the headliner and the pit. In that tutorial you said it was 24 feet from the foul line to the pit. Assuming these calculations are correct, there would be 23 feet that the ball would have traveled in 0.9 seconds making the rev rate
