Like a fellow commenter said. Glad your keeping these fish. Always someone that could use them. I like the fact that your taking the lake drain in stride. That's life ups and downs. You and Jay hang tough!
😮😮😮😮Cole and Jay, it is heart breaking to see the destruction of this BEAUTIFUL AREA!!!!!! PLEASE KNOW WE ARE FEELING YOUR PAIN!!!!!!!😮😮😮 oh NNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOO, I really hope you find them, i was thinking, what happened to the clean and cook part 😢😢😢😢
❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I’m glad to see that you’re keeping these fish instead of letting than Die and rot away
You Are Just like HUSTON Arms !!!! LOL He looses his stringers with fish too.
I thank we have all lost stringers or had them stolen by turtles before. God bless you and your family and friends..🙏❤🙏❤🙏
Hello Cole and jay happy fishing Monday afternoon sending you and family a big hug fishing is beautiful 🎣👍 it's very sad to see how the lake is draining so fast 😢
It’s really sad to see such a beautiful lake disappearing. Wish I was there to get out on some of the action. Thank you for sharing your day.😊😊😊
Going to suck when it dries and the dust starts!!
Cheers from the great state of Arkansas!!
Man, it is tuff to see the lake like this. Caught a lot of fish out of that hole of water. Keep us updated.
Yall already know I love to see them bass on stringer love them bass
Cole, you seem to forget a lot of things when you leave home to go fishing. Can’t keep the fish I caught cuz I forgot to bring the cooler; intended to use this lure, but forgot those at home; Can’t use the net to haul this big boy in cuz I forgot to bring it; wish I had my gloves… 😁
Awesome day and bummer all in one. Do more drone footage. It's cool to see.
Dang man, that sucks. Hope some were able to get off and live, but crap happens sometimes. A good relearning lesson
I bet that’s fun out there catching them big bass in that kiak
Hi Cole, Jay, Cyprus and Summer. Get'em while you can. Nice fish. So sad to see the lake drying up 😢 So relaxing watching yall fishing. God bless and love yall ❤❤
The boys name is jay not cole the girl is cole but nice note
Never mind oops
Actually the husband name is Cole and the wives name is Jessica but they call her J!
Good afternoon folks. Just got home can't wait to watch.
Bless it, Cole! I know that hurt! I personally have never had that happen, but I have seen it happen, poor Houston Arms had it happen only a couple of months ago! Someone sent him a new stringer and a crank bait! I’m so very sorry about your beautiful lake being destroyed! I pray that it comes back even more beautiful and stronger than before when they fill it up again in five years! By then, Cypress will be old enough to fish with you and Jay for real! Love and blessings from this old Bama girl!❤❤❤
Try a Bolo knot for stringers. Sorry you loss your stringer. But turtles need food too. A floating basket, net or the chain.
That was heart breaking to lose those fish. I lost a huge string of white bass before. Glad you decided to start keeping those fish. God bless you guys
I've been there ... that really sucks... I've moved on to a stinky pants stringer they also have a really cool clip to put the stringer on and it works great ... you may want to give them a try... great videos ... keep them coming and tight lines...
If you catch a good size bigging should have it mounted for a Rememberance of the lake.
Wow that water is leaving cool video great fishing 🎣
That sucks, years ago, we caught a whole limit of crappies and had them on a stringer and it slipped into the lake
Man it gives me pain to see that lake like it is, but that was a beautiful mess of fish.
Buy you a big tuna clip and use it to tie stringer off. Quick and holds tight. What i use on my kayak.
That broke my heart brother, sorry for your loss.😢
We can call you Huston Arms for losing the stringer!!!
Pout, pout no cooking...lol
Fun video. As a kid, the biggest channel cat and bluegill I had caught at that age, were on a stringer my dad accidently threw back as he thought the stringer was attached! 😳😳😫😢 Lol.... he felt so bad! LOL, but such is life at times!
God bless all here.
Man! I feel your heart ache. I lost a basket of 4 bass and a few crappies after taking off on my boat. Snapped the string on the basket.😢
Cole, Im sure you have tried dumping fish out of a bucket when they are alive, and they swim up stream and try to stay in the bucket. The same thing is gonna happen when that lake goes dry. The fish will try to swim upstream and beach themselves, so keep them all instead of throwing them back just to become fertilizer.... Spend a little more and buy a quality stringer that has clips, and do you have a underwater camera to go look for that stringer with? One with the monitor in your boat or kayak?
Actually, when fish are in a more natural situation (not a bucket being dumped), the they find their way to better waters quite successfully. I have seen this more times than I can count on the backwater sloughs of a large river near here during times when the water level quickly drops. Backwaters that are teeming with fish one day, are empty the next, with the fish having found their way out the downstream end of the slough. In more than 50 years, I have NEVER seen fish struggling to swim upstream out of a pool that is disappearing as the water level drops. Maybe they have to explore a bit to find their way out. I don't know. But they do NOT do stupid things like swim to where there is less water and then get stranded. If you ever find a few dead fish in a backwater that went dry, you can be sure that a far greater number of fish found their way out in time.
Anyway, his stringer was fine. The problem was that he didn't tie it securely to the boat, and he even mentioned having better methods for securing a stringer which he did not use on this trip.
More DRONE footage Cole! Amazing to see a lake go down like this, horrible but the aerial views is incredible.
Dude, what a bummer! 😭
I thought it was the Jay and Cole show 😮
You need to take Jay out there with and let her catch some of them big bass I really enjoy watching your alls videos keep them coming
Well Cole it happens to us all - Just last week I was fising in a friends pond. I had a nice stringer of bass and crappie. They pulled my stringer loose from the ground where I had it anchored in the ground and I thought sure I had lost them. I knew where they could be and cast my hook out three times and got lucky and snageed the stringer. Sorry you lost yours you had a great catch. I enjoy watching you guys and have for a few years. It will be interesting to see how the lake turns out I hope it is a great improvement.
That sucks. Man you had some good fish
You need to put them in another lake or pond . I fish bass tournaments.
That sucks. Hopefully you fed some big critters.
Maybe you could find a pearl or two in one of those mussels? Might make the water a special case?
That was a beautiful stringer of Fish sorry You lost them. That’s happened to me before. Great watching you though. I hope you go out there and find your stringer. If not catch a bunch more make you another good video.
SO!! Guessing now its not gunna be a catch and cook with Granny now?Still a awesome video,ty.
Houston Arms can cry with you. He recently did the same thing.....😮
Get ya a magnet. Find that stringer
That sucks Cole. But you are right, some other animal/animals are havin a killer feast on your stringer
How is it considered that all the cypress trees will fare during this dramatic draw-down..? Very interested what the general consensus is.
Put a red worm on and catch some of those big drum. 😬
We caught-and lost-a jumbo sized basket (about 100 lbs) of channel cats like that…they were directly in front of us but we couldn’t reach them…
Sadly, I think they will start developing more housing. I enjoy your videos. Keep up the great work!
I doubt it. The entire perimeter of the lake is already houses. They aren’t gonna build in the lake bed.
Awwww man! Heartbreaker!!
Went fishing with a buddy one off the bank and we were catching nice 8”+ blue gill and sunfish and we had over 15 fish on one of those nylon stringers and we had a log to tie it to but my buddy figured he would just stick the metal point in the ground because he got lazy and I had another fish to add to it but the stringer was gone and I asked him where it was that’s when he told me he poked it in the ground so we lost them all so I know what that feels like 😢Great video as always and sorry about your lake.
I’ve lost a stringer creek fishing and on my kayak, it’s hurts every time.
Yeah I have lost a stringer full of fish before .Not a good feeling
I had a stringer of trout swim away from me. It somehow came off of my vest. Anyhow I was fortunate to be able to chase it down the stream. You must have been devastated.
Is there an up to date bait retailer in your area that has details on what ramp is still kayak friendly
There isnt but you can pretty much put a kayak in at every ramp still. Even if the ramp is out of water you can just push it in from bank
happened to me once if they were just strung on, they will slide off the 1st fish on that gets the loop might not be so lucky!
I know how loosing a stringer feels, man. Lost one down in Panama, about 55 years ago.
At least the Snappers and Gators will eat good...!
I feel for you. It happened to me we I was about 10. It was on mathers bridge in satellite beach FL. The adult men were grabbing me trying to keep me from diving after them. They knew there were Bull sharks in the river. I was devastated.
My heart goes out to you guys 😢
You mention mussels shells. I've seen places where there were piles of shells, just shells. We caught this big fat cat on a trotline, I thought was carrying eggs it was so swole. Opened it up,full of mussels. I never knew catfish ate them shell and all. Which makes for shell deposits.
It will take three years for TREES to sprout in that dry area. Our has nine foot tall pine trees and it's sad.
I'm thinking about heading up that way this weekend. Is the shoreline/exposed lakebed walkable yet or is it still really deep mud?
Mostly deep mud
@@COLE_and_JAY thank you for the response, maybe in another week if we don't get rain. I've brought my kid there a couple times but haven't had much luck... no boat so very limited. I'm hoping to help him bag his first bass finally and we have our backup 😁
It is sad that the conservation dept. is not taking these healthy Bass and putting them in holding tanks/ponds to be released in rivers!
In a little bit, you can probably walk around and find several empty stringers and dip nets.
And boat anchors! We had a dam fail on a small 100-year-old impoundment here several years ago, and people went wandering around the bottom of the former lake in the next couple of days and found COUNTLESS old anchors. I guess that proves that a lot of people just don't know how to tie knots.
Don't know where your fishing at cole but here in Louisiana when it comes to Bass we haven't 8 fish limit and they must be / 12 inches. With the exception of lakes that have a slot limit. A few Rivers even have a slot limit also. The best I've ever done here that was legal limits was a five fish stranger and not one under 2 lb. And that was on Cheney lake in West Monroe. I prefer however to use the Red shed color. And I usually put my hook like you showed the second worm with a bullet about a quarter ounce.
Nice! So this lake is currently being drained and they removed all limits
Use a floating basket next time cole
So I understand how you feel that could have been a good fish fry
I've had turtles eat my fish, they leave nothing but the head.
Hey Cole and Jay what do you will happen to the gators
What lake are they draining?
Man I did the same thing but I was on a log with a twenty foot stringer of two pond bullheads and I just put a small carp my mom caught on there. I loss the twenty feet of bullheads. No more stringer if I can help it but if so I tie them in knots. I know it hurts but I got two other things I saw. 1) You weren't prepared 2) you didn't have worm hooks that should be in your box all the time (3) why didn't you get some hooks from your fishing partner. You fish tournaments and you were ready, Shake it off we no it hurts because they were on a stringer and couldn't get off. Pug them in the kayak with you. Ok get game plan for next time 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
If they have a way to drain lakes dry, then they have a way to cause a water supply shortage on purpose!
There has to be a message in your streams, Blue slick worms?
It’s such a double edged sword. Yes, the lake needs some major work and will be excellent in 10 years, but draining it dry for 5 years to get the work done there seems a bit drastic to me. I just hope they make it as deep as they can where they can, fix the boat lanes, and get every single piece of prop shredding rebar out of the lake.
I’m still firm that they can do all of the renovations without emptying the entire thing. Everyone would be mostly happy with that and not having to wait for new fish once they refill. From what I heard at the meetings it didn’t seem like they had any plans on doing any sort of dredging any time soon, just letting it bake
@@COLE_and_JAY if they haven’t figured out what the finalized plan is by now, who knows what they’re going to do with it? The AGFC could have all new brass in 5 years. But in order to do anything with it, the 60 years of muck does have to bake for quite sometime so it’s hard enough to get equipment in there.
How is granny doing. Have not heard anything lately about her.
I'm planning to come to Conway lake this weekend wondering if u would like to fish w another you tuber by chance
Why is Jay in the thumbnail, but not the video? lol
Time to get a metal detector you never know might run into lost gold
Cole I have been subscribed to you guys before you had kids , even sent you guys a cookbook i wrote , I have one question for you WHAT IS THE PURPOSE FOR DRANING THE LAKE ??? PLEASE TELL ME. THANK YOU FRANK FROM MONTANA.......
Here is a link to the video we made explaining it all!
This Is The End... IT'S OVER.

I'm sorry. I had a basket full of trout on my boat one time and forgot to pull it up before taking off and lost them in salt water.
Awwww maaaamnnn
Sounds like you need a lesson in knots 101
I sure would have liked to see the Catch & Cook. Too much pressure on the stringer.
I hate that your lake is being drained..... with that said, I think that you two could make a very lucrative you tube series in which you go to these public fishing spots. (but in your case you let the subscribers know where to go. Seek out great places for people like me, 69 years old and unable to go and do the things that I did at your age.
Am so sad about the lake
You and Houston Arms. Oh no
I would have fished one pole wiht and 8 test pound Floor carbon line then sn nutter pole with an 10 pound test Floor carbon. The 2est pole will be and close face the first pole will be an spind cast.
Why are they draining the hole lake?
Sorry Cole what a bummer... You no whats worse about the lake is all the wildlife thats gonna die... Frogs turtles. Fish you name it...
Call you're not the only one buddy I had a redfish on a stringer I accidentally pulled up my pvc pipe and my redfish took off with the stringer so I know how you feel because you only allow 1 redfish a day in Florida slot
I have a sudden urge to buy a old town kayak
You won’t regret it!
FRICK!
That is why I use the chain
Wow that's depressing. Sorry bud. Will they refill the lake again? I can understand you forgetting things, I mean you're probably looking at this lake you used to live on disappearing and being a bit depressed.
I hate that you lost your fish.
I'm here. So since they are draining it can you keep what you want?
Yep! No limits no rules
@@COLE_and_JAY my freezer would definitely be full. Also sorry for the lost of the fish
My heart is broken for you. 😢
You caught the money fish yet?
Nope 👎 haha
I more than likely missed it but why are they draining the lake?
Whaddup! The AGFC is emptying it for some renovations, but mainly because they believe that if the lake bed is dry and exposed to the sun for 5 years the organic material that has built up on the lake bottom will compact and make the lake deeper by ~1ft… Here is a link to the vid we made going over it. This Is The End... IT'S OVER.
th-cam.com/video/SgZ3nUlaTBA/w-d-xo.html
5 is tge limit
