Robert Field I watched all of your videos and your the best, it is my dream to do what you do. I been watching you since you used Fishbrain. My name is Kallen. I’m 14 and I live in Houston, Texas. U come to Southern California and down into Mexico we goes those yellowtail up to 75 lbs and even more occasionally they fight so hard and could even be compared to tuna in some ways! They are such a fun fish to fight!!!!!!!
Robert thank you very much for giving us something entertaining to watch during this coronavirus pandemic. I'm in Miami Florida and I'll tell you it's so quiet out here. I'd love to go fishing with you one day my man.
Ha ha..."he wasn't ready". I thought you were going over, the look on your face, ha ha...You have done it again, capture an epic adventure on video. Dude, your editing is going to the next level. It was getting so intense there where the music and all the hook ups I almost had to pause the video to take a breath! WOW.
You have my dream job. Your videos are insane. They are so much fun to watch. I just bought my first Outback last Summer and spend most of my time chasing Chinooks in Lake Ontario.
What an epic looking trip when i win the lotto im booking this trip and panama for sure. you should add a bit of action on the graph. Keep the sweet videos coming Robert.
If they will bite something other than slow pitch stuff, you could use a much heavier and stiffer rod with heavier line and pull them out of the reef. In California they use a heavy 3oz jig with 40lb line and it's called YoYo and it's very effective to pull the fish off the reef. Those slow pitch rods seem WAYYY too noodly for a hard pulling fish like a Yellowtail/Kingy!
I haven't fished N.Z. since the Summer of '67 (a week before Christmas), so I'm sure Everything has Changed a LOT! (There were BIG Yellow tail down there back then, TOO...!) Haha! Really enjoy your videos... Stay Safe, and stay away from the "Beer Virus"!

I want to do this trip next year. I am a long time fly fisherman and I have done some deep sea fishing but I have not really done much Kayak fishing. I retire in March and it will be a gift to myself. I am heading down to La Jolla shores in a few weeks. I need to do what you guys are doing!

I'd love to get you out on a skiff out of Santa Cruz and see if we can't get my triphecta which is limits of salmon, halibut and lings and reds. I would love to teach you some tricks

Hi guy ! beautiful video, I watch your videos from Corsica and I wanted to know the reference of your jig major craft rod because it looks incredible. thank you continue like that!
What size Kayaks do they run on the Ocean ? I live in Kentucky and run a Field & Stream 12 foot or a Pelican 9 foot, depending on where I'm going around here.. Just curious what kind of length they recommended though out there. Beautiful trip by the way. Cheers and stay safe everyone
I seriously don't think there is a harder fighting fish pound for pound than these things hey! They are just absolutely insane! They have the perfect blend of every trait, the best way I could describe them is the Speed and Stamina of a Yellowfin tuna, with the Power and the Grit of an Amberjack! In the shallows especially around sharp rock and reef that combination almost always results in a bust off haha, I think the ONLY fish that could be argued as the top dog is the mighty Giant Trevally, which essentially feel like you've just hooked a bull, you definitely need to tick some GT's of the list when this is finally all over man haha not much is more extreme than being completely locked up on PE10 gear to a big GT in 10ft of water, as far as pound for pound goes though I'd still have to go with the mighty Yellowtail King💪🏽. Mental fish and epic trip man🤙🏽🎣
Love your vids bro!!! Been out that way over the years, more so coramandal.... off the rocks but... idea once all this craziness has left.... you have got to try Lord Howe island, been there 3 times and is close to as epic, mainly off a charter though, although on good days around the island on a yak could be done.... yak Lord Howe is a dream of mine!!! nice Vid, Arid is great place to fish and dive, some monster packhorse crays there. I don't like your chances of stopping a decent king on that gear tho mate.
Not sure what you mean, last year we were in Viking Kayaks. But personally I prefer the 2018 model Outback. Nice deck features on the new one, but they made the hull worse
What is that "small rod"? Looks fun. I've caught 65lb Halibut and Albacore on m/h 6'6" Trevala....but that rod looks a LOT more fun, and even more capable. Would it handle peanut Bluefin and the off-chance of an Opah?

Yep, I’ve caught them in Southern California and in Mexico, did episodes on both. They get biggest in New Zealand - over 110 lbs.
Robert Field yeah mate when it comes to king fish you can’t beat NZ. In my opinion they are the most grunty fish out there
Hey Robert love your vids mate. You should head up to the three kings islands for your next trip. Try 40 - 50kg kingfish yipaah
I’d love to hit three kings! We drive right by it every year. December got cancelled due to covid but I’ll be back ASAP
