Recording a macro with Macro Express

I'm trying to record one but it refuses to start recording, what am I doing wrong here?? (Ctrl + Alt + Shift + X is my start recording command, but the window saying "it's going to record now" never appears)

I've just started playing with this program also. Somewhere in Preferences is an option to have the recording notification on or off so perhaps yours is off? I've changed the recording start and stop to Ctrl B in the System Macros area, as a bit simpler. A touch confusing at first but starting to get the hang of it - like that available as a portable version which means can potentially use at work etc
