It's like they concentrated America and then injected it into a game engine.
This game is so over the goddamn top and I love it. I wish we had more modern games that did this. I think the last game I played that was this over the top, but the same time serious was Bayonetta. I want a modern version of this game. A game that’s so over the top American that it’s basically fun awesome satire.

@@droidixbacon but (and I’m not bashing sidescrollers or pixel games, I personally love broforce) I think he means a big 3D open game with a triple AAA budget. Where it’s over the top and doesn’t take itself seriously. Bayonetta. Which I’m sure I spelled wrong. Is a good example of what he means. For me however, the last game to scratch that itch of “insane but not overly serious” was probably doom eternal. It does take itself seriously but you as a player are encouraged to not at the same time and it works really well.
Love how the president says "war doesn't suit someone as lovely as Jody" even though she's the one encouraging him to blow everything up.

What makes this game work is how it's not just the usual Japanese exaggerated USA stuff. It's clear they took the time to research how the USA exaggerates itself. That's what made it appealing over here. The developers were just initially completely unaware that the parody they made works as a satire over here.

Why are Jello’s voices better than the actual voice acting
They kept the original game audio, and audio quality for japanese anime and games of that era was not exactly the highest priority. It's like playing Armored Core 4 Answer with a friend "Wtf is with this voice chat quality?" "I know, no other game sounds this bad." They were still using PS1 era compression, think the original Resident Evil games. There is generally a bit of lag between generations, F.E.A.R. is a great example, it really feels like it should have been a PS2 game, but it is on the PS3.
Cause the game was made and released exclusively in Japan. Japanese games with English voice acting done in Japan always have campy "terrible" acting cause the voice directors often don't know what natural English sounds like and they literally just hire like the marketing advisor guy or the study abroad intern

There’s really only one american robot game and this is it.
Technically... there's Tiny Tank, for the PS1... the apocalypse happened in July 4th, just after promoting Sentrax's new line of thinking war machines, powered with positronic brain AI... the machines went rogue, after one of them killed Sentrax's fully-aware (and against war/machine slavery) mascot, Tiny Tank (btw, Tiny is small, rude, funny, and hates that he's a "cute killing machine")... the rest of the game happens 100 years in the future, and after Tiny has finally been rebuilt by nanobots.

Words can’t describe how hyped this rerelease was. It took 15 years for the game to reach the rest of the world outside Japan, but it was absolutely worth it.
I think this has just became my favorite game of all time.

If by 'English version' you mean 'official release in English-speaking territories,' then yes. Because the original release in Japan was an English release, which makes the decision to _not_ release it in English-speaking regions downright bizarre.

Everyone talks about how Metal Gear Rising predicted the last four years of insanity, no one talks about how this game predicted our current predicament. Japan has so thoroughly called out the country's entire political spectrum, I think it's time we just peacefully sign over ownership to the Emperor.

I recently discovered two things about this game.
It was developed by FromSoftware.
It didn't release outside of Japan until Devolver Digital published it WW in 2019.
I've watched this video at least half a dozen times and I thought they were playing it on Original Xbox this entire time.
This game has unironically one of the best VA performances of all time. They knew exactly what they had to do, and god damn if it isin`t the most beautiful thing...
The ending squenece could really use the president saying "I am the president, of the United States of America!! PLUS ULTRAAAAAAA!" As he beats the vp and skates down to earth again

Every piece of dialogue in this game sounds like the fake voiceover jello and crew would make up for the characters. I literally had to check that they weren’t the ones talking over the game when I heard some of it.
Metal Gear Rising but the writers took 3 tabs of acid instead of 2
