    Besides the dark "L" sound, understanding phrasal verbs will always be really helpful! This lesson in particular reminded me the first time I heard the song Falling off The Edge of The World... And of course it took a long time to have an idea of the meaning of that title...

    Love your lesson, if a verb word ends with a dark L, how to pronounce the L sound in its ing form? For example, telling, falling. Is it the same as in the 'fall off' here, glide from a dark L to a light L? But the dark L is very short and quick?

    Hi keenyn, I have a question, when I hear someone says "interrogate him straight", by 'straight" does he mean immediately or continuously or it could be both meanings. thanks in advance :)

    • @bensinghchauhan2953
      @bensinghchauhan2953 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is just a sense of instructions means no if and but rather just questiong someone. Don't ever try to translate english in your native tongue as every sentence can't be translated according to your mother tongue.
      Feel the senses of english language rather.

    • @ClearEnglishCorner
      @ClearEnglishCorner  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd need more context here. "Interrogate him straight away" would mean immediately but "interrogate him straight" could mean no trying to trick the guy, be "straight."

    Hello, English teacher, I have a question of a sentence, which I saw today, about dark L.
    "Well, I'm going to tell you anyway"
    Should L of 'tell you' be dark or light L? Should tongue tip touch alveolar or lie down backward? It's confusing because you /ju:/ starts with a consonant like vowel.

    • @ClearEnglishCorner
      @ClearEnglishCorner  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      When I say "tell you" the tip of my tongue stays down. The actually makes it easier to pronounce that /y/. Hope this helps!
