Nice vid, Thanks Dan!
Good work my friend. I have been chasing waves the last couple decades in South America, Indo, Europe. Been to quite a few of your locations so I can vouch for the decriptive accuracy. Also like the fact that you stick to describing the well known spots to keep the others a bit less crowded. Always a big conflict for me between turnig people onto an uncrowded spot and bringing on the crowds.
Thank you! yeah it's a tough one, especially because my job is to help people surf and travel hahah. But I only mention well-established crowded spots by name, and keep others a bit more low key. Still get my fare share of hate for it here on TY though hahah!
I lived in fuerte for 16 years and one winters day I saw the bay close out from harbour wall right across to lobos ,biggest wave I have ever seen in my life .
Wow!! That's insane, it's so deep out there! Can't even imagine that happening hahah
I have been there last year, amazing place, even though it was hard to get wave for me on my level 🙂
nice lo-fi house in the video btw. I value your content and lifestyle. I am also surfer, also trying to be able to travel with my work (e-shop owner, love writing aswell, thats my main passion in online bussiness/ life).. enjoy your trips
I remember surfin Los Lobos in the 90s... Nice and quiet back then... Looks like a proper nightmare now!!
I bet!! would loved to have surfed it back then and yeah its insanely crowded nowadays!
Cool video man
when you want to Los Lobos (the ferry spot), where did you leave your phone/keys etc? In the ferry?
Thank you for sharing this! Do you think Corralejo would be a good place for a beginner-to-intermediate surfer? Is a surf camp a good idea?
I have seen some beginners with some surf schools surfing near Corralejo many times.
Great vid, keep em coming. Do they speak Spanish there? 😎
Thanks Jordy! Can't wait to keep making them! And yes, they do. It's technically part of Spain...
I will be going to Fuerteventura with my family in the beginning of Juli and would like to know if it’s surfable at that time and what the best spots are in juli.
Hi mate! Ok wicked! To be honest I've never been there in summer. I think there are waves but it it usually comes with strong winds, as it becomes a bit of a windsurfing hotspot at that time!
@@DanHarmon123Hi, just came back here to thank for the video i went to couple of spots and your video helped me out a lot. At the hotel I was at there was a guy that advised me to go to a spot called playa del Moro in Corralejo caught some 3-4 meter waves on the lost few days of my stay there it was sick since. I live in the Nederlands with barely any waves so these were some of biggest waves I’ve ever surfed.
Hey Dan,
Fantastic video! I'm also based in the UK, originally from Brazil, and while I grew up surrounded by surfing culture, I never quite mastered it-perhaps due to my lack of interest back then. Do you happen to know of any reputable surfing schools in Fuerteventura?. Oh, and if you're connected with anyone from Manchester or the surrounding areas who's at a similar skill level, please let me know ! It'd be wonderful to have a companion on this journey. I'm planning to head out there in March. Cheers!
Hey mate!! Epic... I'm not sure of any exact surf schools, but I know there are a few in Corralejo (the main town). And I'm from Nottingham originally haha, but I don't know anyone who surfs back there or in Manchester haha!
@@DanHarmon123 thanks for the tip Dan ! Appreciate man! Great content 😁
Love the fact that you didn't name the spot unlike most vloggers nowdays. Even though this place is well known, good job on not naming it! Most spots there are like a zoo now.
XTRASURFCAMP EN FUERTEVENTURA!! WELCOME 🏝🏝🏝🏝🌋
Hey! Me and my family might be traveling to Fuerteventura during November. My family absolutely loves waves, do you mind telling where you went surfing?
Hey mate! I may also be there in November, but yes there's so many waves there! But the best place will depend on your ability... Lobos (the right where I surfed) is a sick wave, but not great for beginners. Other spots like harbour left, rocky point and the bubble are pretty fun for advanced surfers as well. But if your beginner/intermediate head to German rights, or the beach break over in Cotillo! hope that helps and maybe see ya there!!
@@DanHarmon123 Thank you for giving me such a good answer! I didn't think you'd actually respond haha. My family and I aren't surfers but we absolutely love being in waves even without a surfing board. We were in Sal, Cape Verde last Christmas and the waves there were awesome to swim in (even if they were quite big). I'll probably try surfing though considering I forgot to try it back in Cape Verde 😂
Though I suppose many of the surfing spots's waves are far out from the beach we might still be able to just have fun inside of the waves even if we don't surf? What do you think
@@DanHarmon123 Cotillo could hit hard for beginners ! I spent few months on the island, I really love Punta Blanca and Rocky Point. But basically, if you are in Fuerteventura North, you can reach almost all the spots in 20 min from the north center town (Lajajes)
Punta Blanca is the best bet for you
you said Fuerteventura has the best waves of Europe? what about Mundaka in Basque Country or Menorca? your vids are great
Hey Daniel! Thank you! Yeah I mean, it has my fave wave so kinda biased I guess hahha! I've never surfed Mundaka, but looks sick! Also, Hossegor in France and Peniche in Portugal could easily rival it!!
How did you get to the spot and back? Asked in the harbour or so? I know which spot it is btw ;)
Hahaha yeah most people do ;) So wasn't sure whether to say it or not hahah, and you can take a taxi boat (made for surfers) or the ferry and then walk!!
@@DanHarmon123 Isn't that really expensive to do every time you want to surf? isn't it like 15 for a ride?
Hi, I'm an intermediate level surfer and I was thinking about coming in March, or even February. Are there any specific spots that you recommend in Fuerteventura ? Not looking for anything crazy
Hey mate! I'd say german rights on the north track is your best bet! If not rocky point at high tide on smaller days could be a sick option :)
@@DanHarmon123 Yo, thanks for replying man, appreciate it. German rights sounds cool, do you know if it is easy to get to?
@@gaxdeme1h326 In fuerte y you always need a car for spots on the north. German right will require a car.
I surfed it 20 years ago…. Very crowded and drop ins…..
I was about to paddle out at Rocky point once and realised i still had my sunglasses on😣😎🤦♂️
Mate, sorry to bother you again but can you tell me which apartment complex you stayed in this video? I was living on Fuerteventura almost a year for work but stayed in an arranged place! Was it Las Gaviotas?
Hey mate! That name rings a bell. I actually can't find where I stayed on Booking.com so maybe it's been taken down!?
@@DanHarmon123 cheers for getting back to me!
Maybe you could do a video on the best places in Europe that you don't need a car?
Hey Lucas! Yeah that's a great video idea!! Got heaps of videos to create but will defo make one like that in future :) Thanks for the idea!!
WELCOME TO SURFESCAPE FUERTEVENTURA, IN LAJARES, FUERTEVENTURA
no, but maybe the longest
Haha, yeah definitely long, best depends on what you're looking for I guess!!
20 min Walk?? Can you take a bike haha
Hahah! Yes, you could actually. It's super rocky on the paths so a bike might not be that fun, especially carrying a board, riding one handed hahaha!
ha ha your camera is not fast enough, and its not a really fast wave 4 cannary island, at the spot where ya was, the wave can really get bigger and more difficult if you know the cult :)
I would recommend not coming to the canaries, there is a delicate situation where they are cutting our water supply to be able to fill swimming pools and golf courts for tourists
"everythng you need to know" doesn't name the spot..
I thought, "Everything you need to know apart from one spot" didn't sound that good as a title so left it out hahah!!
Hi, great Vid of course, and thanx for not naming the wave. This is actually a very local spot and out of respect for the local surf community it should stay that way. Nowdays you need permission from local surfers to surf there, as all other spots on the island have become crazy with tourists who just come there for a few days of surfing and do not respect surf etiquette and local surfers. This increasingly frustrates local surfers. So: please be polite; ask if it is oke to surf on a certain spot; know your level; say hello to other surfers; wait for your turn; surfer at the peak has priority; do not drop in, etc etc. Thanks.
Canary Islands are in Africa, not Europe.
Hey mate! Well, geographically, they are closer to Africa, not part of Africa, but they "belong" to Spain and therefore are part of Europe??
spain is also in africa then lol, because its next to morocco and argelia lol
Erm... Fuerteventura is not in Europe, technically. Basically, is not even a technicality- it's in the African Continent therefore, not Europe.
Hey George! Well, yes you are correct geographically! But it is part of Spain so politically it's part of Europe??
@@DanHarmon123 It's European territory, but so are the Reunion island, French Polynesia and many more. So, definitely not Europe's best wave by any comparison, but surely the Macaronesian Archipelago is full of wonders! :)
are you bored??@@georgetsapekis
@@evosops265 Just not miseducated.
@evosops265 he's super bored and argumentative 😂😂
Surfer tourists Go Home. Only Local
Stop making advertising Fuerteventura. It’s too crowded already. This is bad
Hey Birte! This is definitely one of my concerns when I make surf travel videos, but I do need to provide info to make a living. There's also nothing in this video that isn't already on Google and I think the times are gone where surfers keep information to themselves and try and "protect" spots. Especially already well known, user friendly waves anyway!
This isn’t the 90’s anymore, everyone knows about this place
@@DanHarmon123 Hey Dan , ignore Berte silly comment, Lobos is in every surf guide and online site around and everyone knows about it. Keep up the great work bud.
The more the merrier 😂
No, this is good! We are all packing our boards to go there. See ya soon in the water!
why would you even make such a video ? you are literally destroying the surf culture together with the rest of youtubers.
Hey mate! It's not ruining anything. I'm just paraphrasing what's already on the web, helping people get waves and sharing a love for surfing. In all my videos, I only ever talk about well known, established spots and never name any lesser known waves. So if that's destroying surf culture, then yeah I guess I am.
Did You delete an opinion?
Why ?...why do men do most things. To try and get a good partner/get laid. Put it out there that " im cool, im a fit surfer, i travel the world...please shag me 😂
