  • This is my favorite way to attach acrylic yarn together with no ends to weave in and really secure. It has never come apart no matter how many times I have washed something.

    This is exactly what I was hoping to find! I was having trouble with the magic knots and noticed they easily came undone if i rubbed them. I was also struggling with simply weaving them in - neither felt very secure for a blanket that would be washed many times. This is so helpful!
    I found your channel a couple months ago, it's been a saving grace. It's genuinely become one of the first places I come to look when wanting to learn new stitch patterns, troubleshooting, and progressing in skills. Truly one of the few people who explains thoroughly, talks about the issues that come along with some of the techniques that are trendy, helps people in the comments, and shares your experience with the techniques.
    I appreciate you so much, Deborah! ❤

    It works! Thanks for giving us a uber secure way to secure yarn pieces together for items we want to be able to wash. It will take me a little practice to do it as easily as you do but your instructions are very clear. I just did my color-changing knots with two wraps each, like you mentioned farther down in comments and it’s fine. The part I will need a little practice with is the wrapping the two tails around my working yarn and then continuing my knitting without it wanting to unwrap itself before I get it safely knit in. ☺

    Really like how this works, not sure if I'm wrapping it correctly, but, I'm using as it's more secure than how I just overlap ending & Beginning skeins

    • @BecBec1967
      @BecBec1967 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wrapping each end twice, I find is sufficient to bind/secure it. Especially if I keep the ends long, & weave the tiny tails in. You know, I'd post videos here, but don't think anyone would watch.

    What is the peg ct and gauge on loom you are using for this project please? Not in information? Thank you! Love your stitches and this knot or way to connect!!! :)

    • @DeborahShaw
      @DeborahShaw  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      its not a project i am only showing you how to attach in strips. i am using only 10 pegs and it is a small loom in the 3/4" set of looms.

  • @sherylkatz6253
    @sherylkatz6253 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You are doing this while still on the loom. How are you able to make the "U shape on both yarn ends as you were showing on this video laying on a surface, if you are on the loom needing to attach yarn from that position? Thanks. I hope you know what I am asking?? Awesome method BTW!! I tried to make 2 pieces that I put together as 1 with this method come apart and was not so easy to do unless you cut or rip it!! Very strong much better than magic knot which does come apart!!

    • @DeborahShaw
      @DeborahShaw  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you have the end of the working yarn and you just make sure you change the yarns when your piece thats about to end is still long enough.

      @@DeborahShaw I looked at several videos to find a method I really liked and this is it! Related to Sheryl’s question and I’m not sure how to ask this…How long would you recommend to leave a piece of the yarn (the one you are changing from) so that you can make the u shape with it easily?

      @@DeborahShaw thank you very much! So far I’ve done two color changes using this method and I was even able to correctly estimate where to stop on the second one so that my color changed right at the beginning of another row. ☺

    Does this work for bulky yarn also?

    • @DeborahShaw
      @DeborahShaw  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      i almost only use bulky yarn so yes. if you yarn is especially bulky then you can wind it twice instead of three times but i only do that with number 6s myself.
