    I am Dvorak. Though I am not THE Dvorak. But my ancestors were Dvorak. I've loved the Maestros music ever since the young age of 8. So glad there is so much adulation for the man and his music!

    Thank you very much for sharing these with us, not only the complete Op. 101, with sheet music, but also that 9th additional one. Very much appreciate all the care you put into doing so. These gems certainly deserve resurrection in concert recitals. Very interesting how Dvorak approaches the idea of a minor key Humoresque, but given his knowledge of Slavic folk music/dance, it is no surprise that he carries off that challenge so well. Thanks again for sharing these with us!

    I heard so much classical music as a child which I forgot about. But everytime I hear a piece I somehow remember from something on the radio I can’t recall from what it was. Today it were his Humoresques. I still can’t remember if it held any significant meaning to me, but the feeling that I know it from somewhere is so weird

    SIDE COMMENTS:
    1) I'm behind schedule, I know, shush. This time, I realized I was actually using the wrong edition, and so had to snapshot some pictures from scratch again. Sigh.
    2) Thank you very much for the milestone. I meant it when I said "we wouldn't be here if it weren't for you" now that I legit noticed we're getting big faster than I expected. I can't thank you enough for that.
    3) Heads up to the one who requested this! :D
    4) No offense, but Dvorak is a bit off the radar for me. Which of his works would you recommend me to listen to?
    5) Any random comments, suggestions, opinions, questions, or video requests? Feel more than free to leave a comment or give me a PM. :D

      @santadagger 8 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      4) I guess you already listened to this, but Dvorak masterpiece is of course Symphony No. 9 "From the New World". But he has some also other interesting works, which I recommend for you to check: Cypresses No. 11, Serenade for strings in E Major, Mazurek in E Minor op. 49 - Dvorak is full of magic!

      The Slavonic Dances, both Opus 46 and 72, are wonderful! Either the piano four hands original version, or the orchestrated version he made afterwards. His Legends is also a wonderful piece, as are all of his symphonic poems, my favorite being The Golden Spinning Wheel; and his Cello Concerto. Dvorák is one of my first obsessions in music, and still today his music inspires me. Thank you so very much for uploading this wonderful video!

    Interesting that in the 7th Humoresque I found in what might be an error either by the composer or the publisher. In measure 6 the note is a solid Eb, not the grace note Eb going to Gb. All throughout the piece as the theme is repeated it remains the grace note Eb followed by the solid Gb. Usually, composers of this time period and before would be very consistent with their themes.
