I still remember studying my shit off in college because i can't afford to pay those caution deposit. Not from a Don Bosco institution but my college do the same. Also I've heard that the cause of his suicide was nothing related to his studies or money. Mental illness is not a joke. When your mental illness took a toll on you the only thing you'd ever want is to feel nothing anymore. Been through it and i know how it feels. I just feel so sorry that he couldn't overcome it. Sorry that the world couldn't protect you. My deepest condolences to the bereaved family. Do not blame him for his decision cause i'm sure he must've thought about it hundreds of times before he finnally make his final decision.

i don’t know what was the reason or cause behind committing suicide but at this point colleges and schools are becoming like business institutions. they literally take fine for everything. it’s like they’re having fun taking our parent’s hardwork money.
and also the people commenting saying, they give back at the end of the year. okay fine some colleges/schools they give back but some they don’t and moreover even if they’re giving back, what should the poor students do in order to pay fine on time? that’s the time when they struggle and had to go through so many things. and yeah to the people commenting, “you should study hard if you can’t pay fines” see everyone is not same. some they work hard everyday but still can’t manage to pass the exam. I hope we humans will be more kind to each other. rest well, brother.

This is a serious case. It should be a turning point to every educational institution in Nagaland that imposed unnecessary fines. Imposing fines on students has nothing to do with his/her education but only imposing stress and hardship to students and their poor parents.
Many educational institution in Nagaland are running after money instead of focusing on quality education. Education is not simply reading and memorising books and having 80%attendance. Education is an all round development. Its about mental health and personality development of a students as well. And these unnecessary fines are not a healthy indicator when it comes to quality seeded education.
    CHANGE THE SYSTEM OF EDUCATION.!

What is the root cause of his death if the college really didn't imposed a fine? Should be investigate, a school is not mean for business, and all students/children in a class doesn't have same skills of learning some are smart and some students lacks behind.

  • @thesilentgardener
    @thesilentgardener 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +92

That was not the reason for the unfortunate cause but being an alumni, i can pour out some facts **THB the college imposes unnecessary fines and threats to the students, the student body is useless in internal affairs. The college strives for education but it also has forced imposed education rather than nurturing the students needs and interests. As a matter of fact some teachers suffer; the college is too demanding.
There are many good impacts and positive growth for civic and moral development but i guess every catholic Institute has a nature of total control, demand, expectations, internal threat which are hidden behind scared pupils and tutors. Just an honest POV; don't foresee the bad because of some good comments (nothing related to the suicide case).
I hope it won't repeat the history from America.

Don Bosco should abolish this system of fine. In every district within Nagaland Don Bosco school & Higher secondary follows the same rule as penalty for students who failed in exams. It's funny & ridiculous . Being a parent of pupil of Don Bosco Mon we are also compelled by the rules they created and we have to pay the fine if our wards failed in exams. Actually, it must be the parents and guardians who should questioned the teachers & institution for the poor performance of their STUDENTS , instead they harrassed the parents by putting fines on students who fail in some subject. Its high time we the parents fight against those self created rules of Don Bosco . All the parents are not so rich that we just keep paying what they demands ( white scam ) Us.. for the sake of Education.

I agree with abolishment of the fine but disagree with your other points a teacher alone cannot be responsible for almost 100 students in his/her class and monitor who studies at home and does their homework diligently. It’s humanly impossible. I too have been a student myself and trust me 80% of what I learned in my primary class years is because of my mom’s hardwork - plus she works a 9 to 5 job and beyond my primary years the values and morals taught to me guided me to this day. Education starts at home. And teachers get so little time to interact with the students and yet they are pressured so much by parents who fail to do their duties at home - the reason for the high suicide rates of teachers in countries like SK (ps putting it out there that I’m not a teacher - a student still in fact - n this is my unbiased but logical opinion)

@@roses2028 I understand your opinion but what about illiterate parents? Who, somehow managed to send their children to schools considering the teachers as omniscient and omnipotent. And in return the school imposed fines instead. Btw, I never blamed the teachers for the failure of students. What I actually meant is that we the parents we send our wards to school seeking education( out of which some are literate parents and some illiterate) by paying our hard earned money but when the students failed. It's not the parents sole responsible either. Coz' everybody is not so fortunate to have an educated parents like you and other does. So, for those parents who resides in villages and send their children to schools in towns they fully depend and trust on teachers that they can make difference on their childrens, being an illiterate parents their intentions for teachers are like "All Knowing Person". (What more can they expect from teachers?) So, my question to schools & teachers in my previous comment was just about the expectations and how we feel as a parents. Anyway, one simple example of a Student whose parent happened to be an illiterate, he secure Top-Ten in his 10th exams and all the credits goes to school and the teachers, infact they deserve it. Coz' his parents were illiterate and it was the teachers who made him capable to achieve top -ten. So, sometime when the students failed they should also be responsible. Peace ✌

I think higher authority takes action regarding this issue coz as a student we spent so much of money doing admission n all + small small collection don't know for what reason but all we know is we have to pay on time . Can't even save a penny.
Moreover if the education system was advanced like foreign countries den we won't even complain but the amount of money the institutions take n the education system they give is not even 50% .

My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family for this loss. Rest in peace to the departed soul.
It's very alarming to see many youth who are depressed and growing up with it when they are supposed to be busy engrossing themselves with studies, careers and many other innovative life skills. Parental care and family bonding are dwindling while society is experiencing escalation or improvement of lifestyles and riches. We see many youngsters growing up with low self-esteem and fragile minds and bodies. Youngsters are exposed to many of these wrong cultures and lifestyles from social media. We need proper family and proper parental care from the initial stages of life. It's natural for everyone to blame the institution or the places of work when we can't cope with daily challenges. Parents should not depend on money to build a family. How long do we spend time with our children and how often do we spend talking something serious about family at home? Children are influenced by friends and other sources of knowledge about life rather than from parents. Sadly, our society is growing up with riches and wealth but values are pathetically butchered. We are seeing children growing up with depression and emotionally unstable which are the effects of the lack of parental care and formation at home.

I also understand the situation that he has been gone through i was also one the who has gone through depression last year 2022 i even thought i would commit suicide but there was a small voice calling frm my heart saying i should search for God, then i went to the prayer home in dimapur Bethel prayer home, there i stayed for 10 days and long story short God took me as i am and im here today to share my story whoever read this may God also save frm depression anxiety and let you be free from darkness 🙏.
Remembering in prayer grieving family, 🙏

My name is ponwang konyak and I'm the cousion of the person who has suicide on 13/11/23 as well as I'm the witness of that incident.
Since some people are spreading misinformation ,I want to clarify that the main reason behind his suicide is not about the money and please don't blame to the institution.Lastly,I request everyone to stop circulating the false information.
    Thank you.

Did he leave some kind of suicide note which stated that it was not because of the fine?
Because he committed suicide on the exact date of caution deposit.

The school which was regarded and praised with pride has become so money minded presently. Now we even find the designation of the parents in the admission form instead of the occupation of the parents. Wonder why the alumni of the schools quota is not added in the form. Religious school turns to money laundaring with the most hopelesd result of the school. Reputation down the drain but the father is consistent in his price tag.
