    One year, the soldier at attention broke his wrist before the rally. He refused to have it casted because then he wouldn't be able to hold his salute. Throughout the excruciating pain, he stood at attention. I think it may be the year this video was done because you can see him wavering on his feet. As you see on this video, a couple people came and helped him stay standing and hydrated. Now THAT'S an amazing American! I have alot of respect and awe for our military and law enforcement men and women. God bless America, land that I LOVE.

      I think this word is getting misused too much today. Many people join the military just for the permanent job and pay, it doesn't make them heroes.

    And even more so to know that the civilians watching were in admiration.
    So, to all of you who have proudly served - I salute you.

    I think if we had 2 years of mandatory service out of high school, either in the military, or via a volunteer in a 3rd world country with medical services, or rebuilding, then more people might appreciate sacrifices made by so many of our people. We have become indulgent and spoiled. We stand in line for days at Best Buy to get a tv for Christmas, but don't stand to fight to bring our people home like we did during Vietnam era. What happened?

    • @IB3ASTINONU786
      @IB3ASTINONU786 9 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      I don't think Vietnam is a very good example. People fought to bring troops home, but not for the right reasons. Most people thought that the government invaded an innocent country because they wanted too and any soldiers that were in Vietnam were just as bad as the government. My uncle fought in Vietnam and the only person that came up to him when he got back, Spit in his face and called him a baby killer. Everybody else just ignored him.
