- When I was en route to Canada for the 8th Hum Awards, I didn’t even think or expect I’d win. It was all about the exciting pre-show segment I was supposed to host, exploring Toronto while spending time with my friends and of course meeting you all!
However, an award in acknowledgement of my work in Raqs-e-Bismil was a pleasant surprise! I’m humbled to have shared the stage with such loved members of our fraternity and to accept this award in front of such an amazing audience of over 15,000 of you!
Ever grateful for all the love and warmth that I’ve received in Toronto and from my online family throughout. Thank you for being a part of my journey and inspiring me to work harder!
A special shoutout to not just my dear father for being my biggest cheerleader, but I’d also like to mention a moment with our talented superstar singer Atif Aslam. It is a fond memory now because of his warmth and appreciation 🙌🏻 Not all moments get captured by a camera lens though, because they are meant to be lived and become lasting memories.
My whole experience in Canada was very eventful and made the short trip worth it, but one has to keep moving forward in life, right? I had a great time in Toronto but London and the lectures for my Master’s degree at King’s College were calling me back! ✈️
I love my routine in London. There is a discipline which helps to stay on track, I get to meet my friends who you’re also getting introduced to, and then I get to connect with people from the sub-continent who are so enthusiastic and kind where ever I go.
Life is beautiful. Do you think otherwise? Well, realistically speaking, it is all about perspectives. Try focusing on the positives. Life is a balancing act - it requires walking a tightrope and constantly juggling multiple aspects: social, physical, spiritual, economic and mental. The art is in the ability to evaluate your priorities and invest your time and energy in those tasks accordingly.
Stress and pressure is what makes diamonds at the end of the day. What would life be without challenges and some drama? It wouldn’t be a thrilling story! So yes, nothing good comes easy. But remember, do everything to the best of your abilities! Be it your work, studying or spending time with your loved ones. However, achieving the right balance is a learning process and you must keep trying until the scale is in your favour!
